Here I am at the worst possible moment in my 56 years. Watching an Adam build because it's what little joy I can garner from this world, and then he explains his " next step " philosophy on making and Life.... Had to pause the vid while I let it sink in .... I've never needed to hear something like that so much , and right at this time. You're a bloody Legend mate.

Austin, I’m right there with you. Adam and team have gotten me out of several dark times in the past. The passion, creativity and enthusiasm magnetic. I started crafting due to video I saw with a FX makeup artist. I’ve done several Halloween props using the skills I picked up here.
What worked for me was finding a project that interested me and tried to follow along with the video with the materials that I had on hand. So I was watching Adam problem solve while problem solving my own issues with different naturals than they were using in the video. It was a cool way to bond. Best of luck to you my friend.

Same! I was wondering why it went down without a word. Those videos actually led to me applying to work for Animax, and they were pretty rude throughout the whole process. I'm guessing that the relationship between them and Tested deteriorated and Animax had them take it down. The editing of this video seems to back that theory up.

    • @Mat_1000
      @Mat_1000 2 місяці тому +5

@@Android_Steed That's something like that, that I suspected too. When I saw the whole series of videos disappearing and Tested not giving any explanation nor making any comment about it, I suspected that maybe it has something to do with rights problems, or maybe Tested revealed too much of Animax' techniques and Animax didn't want other companies to copy them.
Maybe they settled an agreement not to talk about the whole subject for 4 years and that's why it's resurfacing now. Time whithin which people would have forgotten about what was in the original videos on the techniques used to make the skin etc...

I missed watching these builds. Amazing workmanship. You've essentially built my dream Halloween costume from childhood. I enjoyed seeing how you made it.

With Ai trivializing and flooding the market with aivfx i have a feeling that people will appreciate even more practical fx like this, and very possible to see a huge comeback for them. Fantastic work as always!

I am so happy that you have brought this back from retirement and are giving it another go 🙂 I hope this is a sign that there may be other long retired projects that you will revisit .. I'll just leave it at that 😉

I’ve dreamed of having a raptor costume like this, since I watched the special features, on the Jurasssic Park dvd, when I was five.
Amazing to see the process of making one.

Get thee to the gym and to press, squat, and deadlift yourself some costume-bearing muscle.
    What an amazing build!

I’m so glad this build is back. I don’t understand what happened before and a part of me will always want to know that story, but I suspect that some secrets will be sealed in civil courts. I hope the VR versions will come back as well.

Is this the return of the long gone series of videos? I'm on lunch and don't have time to watch it now, I'm so excited!!!
quick scan of the video and I saw it indeed is, I see they removed the making of the skin/scales. probably the part that caused problems with the original videos.
    so cool.

Loved seeing the Raptor return! Watching Adam wiggle with only the tail attached and seeing the tail shake it was giving me the classic puppet secondary motion vibes. This was also a blast from the past seeing the "old" Cave, and the early self recording style video of the lockdown days.

You're such a cool person, my guy.
I mean, first of all, a freaking life size dinosaur costume. Who does that? Nobody I know, that's for sure. Dedicated to your nerdiness, I love it.
Then you're dropping facts with your next step speech, which is a very true speech, by the way.
