I’ve had a R clip on a piece of chain to attach the bonnet strut at the lower point. Always secure but easy to pull that out and disengage the strut and lean the bonnet against the screen. Or remove it entirely. Also wouldn’t you want to slack the bolts between the wing and front panel? As the bulkhead goes forward, the wing is pushing forward too
I was trying to undo as little as possible I think its actually the roof that's holding it. I'll have another hour on it today its only 2mm out but its bugging me.
It was like that when I took it off so I assumed it would go back on fine but it might of warped another couple of mm. I've found a prop shaft ill stick new uj's in and it's yours.
Nice to know ,great vid ,thanks ,can crack on with mine now 😂
A way off this yet, but planning ahead for when I get doors. 😃. All the best Craig.
You're not a million miles away pal. Did you get the tub on OK? 🙂👍
I ment bulkhead not tub🤦🏻♂️
@@retro.restorations yes, ended up with 5 mm thick shims between footwell and chassis brackets.
That's not bad at all considering the amount of work the bulkheads had I'd be happy with that. 🙂👍
Thank you for the video. just what I needed to know to align my right door. I had the exact issue.
You're welcome! thanks for watching 🙂👍
Excellent video. Thanks
No problem 🙂👍

@@retro.restorations you’ll end up like the car on father Ted when he was just chasing that little dent out
@@highdownmartin that made me laugh!
I can't remember that one I'll see if I can find it👍
The capping on mine was riding high in exactly the same place, I just got heavy handed with the bolt on that corner and it wound it down. 👍
I'm going to have another go at it today I didn't realise how high it was until I fitted the door 🤦♂️
@@retro.restorations I was wondering if the galvanising process had warped it.

@@retro.restorations top job!
I’m taking a shed down today but if I get time I will put the stuff in a box and get it sent to you. 👍
No rush pal👍 I'll do a video changing the uj's next week.
