Fix to Messy Dryer Lint Exhaust

Our dryer vent is right next to our patio table which was spewing lint on the table and chairs. I solved the problem by building a simple box with a low cost fiberglass furnace air filter. It is, of course, important to clean the filter and periodically replace it to reduce back pressure on the dryer. It is also a very good idea to keep your dryer exhaust pipe clean which is explained in several other UA-cam videos.
Upgrade: I replaced the disposable fiberglass filter with a fine stainless steel mesh which works very well and is easy to clean and should never need replacing.

2024 update: This has been working great. Every few months I clean it out and remove a significant amount of lint that would otherwise be blowing around the backyard. The filter in the dryer does a surprisingly bad job. You can tell how inefficient the dryer filter is by how much lint you have in your duct. If the dryer filter worked, there wouldn't so many videos on cleaning your ducts!
