Just bought a used P6. Per Accubattery getting 11hrs SOT 60hz 5G off media and coms use case and just getting A14 update. When the new Androids stop in October there's a ton of custom ROMs and 2 more years of security if staying with stock.
On the Pixel 6, it was 3 OS updates and 5 years of security updates, meaning it’ll be supported until 2026, not 2024 which is the last OS update. So you could buy it at a reduced price today and still be good for 2-3 more years if you wanted to buy a premium Pixel on a budget. I’m actually considering it myself because I’m tired of iOS and I always felt like the Pixel 6 had the best design of any Pixel phone with the two tone colors on the back. These can be found for around $200 and that’s a bargain for the support still left in it and the features that you receive.
Not just the official support. The Pixel phones are the go-to test mules for developers and all will be getting custom-ROM supports way beyond their official EOL. My last phone was a Google Pixel 3 which received its last official OS update in 2021, but I used it a year beyond EOL running LineageOS. Even the original Pixel is still getting the latest LineageOS support 5 years after its official EOL.
I just bought my pixel 6 I should get it next week. Im just concerned about performance and battery. Not that I'm expecting the best of the best but good enough
For performance it is more than enough, because at the software level it is the most fluid there is on Android, it has no bugs, it does not have lag or anything like that, the battery lasts almost a day with intensive use, it is my experience, it is a very good phone yes you compare it with its equivalents
@@Qwertyfabian Replying from the pixel 6. Performance is great, camera is great but the battery is just okay. I realized that it's always at 90hz it doesn't switch between 60 and 90 even on the AOD but I'm extremely happy with it nonetheless.
I really like mine. It's been a great phone. Sucks it won't update after this year though 😢 I will say this though. I just put Android 15 on and the battery life has seen a nice gain already.
@@katinasoutherland7693 so the place i was getting it at called and said they sold out 😕 so I got a Z flip 3 instead... And I love it 😁 but it gets really hot when playing games. The only thing I don't like is the battery but you can save a lot if you drop the 120hz to 60hz
The Pixel 6 is great for point and shoot photography, for quick shots and such. The iPhone 13 on the other hand gives you a bit more freedom to tweak color settings, etc. it also packs better video recording performance.
2-3 years of Major software updates is really low especially when a company owns the hardware and the software, I've always wanted a Pixel but other brands are doing a lot better job at enticing buyers.
My Pixel 6's SOT is now 8 hours after the July update. I'm not sure what suddenly happened to my 2.5-year-old phone.😂😂😂 I never used to get over 6 hrs SOT before😅
It's hit and miss. Works great sometimes, other it's back to the keypad. Nowhere near as good as Xiaomi or Realme I've had, but it's tolerable. It's hard to believe Google can't get this right....
...for me, after 3 years, I woke up to find that the battery swelled and pushed the display out 😁😩I sent it to the workshop, they changed the battery and I'm still enjoying the Pixel 6 KindaCoral 🤪
@@soumenbera1241 I changed the battery in a specialized service (€77) and it works perfectly / the phone looks very good and was used without a protective case, only with a screen protector. After 3 years of use (I don't have games on my phone), I'm super satisfied
I wanna get this phone, but im hesitate due to I do not know how long will it support the app in the future, do you have any opinion? please recommend me some. Thank you
First!! It's still a good phone, I WOULD NOT buy it because of the screen brightness. The Pixel 8 has a much brighter screen especially if you work outside
I wouldn't due to it being on the last OS update. But that's just me. It should still work ok for the next 2-3 years. If it does the job, it could be good enough for a lot of individuals.
Ime not downloading games on my phone anymore just wares your battery life, just using it for the net .i had the pixal 4 before but tne pixal 6 is cool.
How does the pixel 6 hold up when using it for basic stuff like social media, streaming Spotify, or streaming short videos on social media? Looking to buy one for my partner but he doesn't play games on his phone or use it for anything like that, just basic stuff like camera, social media, messaging, and music. Could he expect any lag there when using it? His last few phones have been pretty basic and the lag when typing or trying to use apps has been driving him mad so don't want to get him another phone with this issue...
For social media app, web browsing, spotify I personally haven't experienced any performance breaking issues. Some people have complained about Twitter stuttering when scrolling, but other than that it seems mostly fine.

It's not gonna stop in October the pixel 6 will get A15 and two years of security updates.
@@katinasoutherland7693so it’s gonna stop after a15. Security updates are irrelevant

Getting my new P6 in two days
I just love the design of pixel 6. The all glass visor looks way more premium than 7 and 8.
Agreed 💯

The 6 improved a lot over the last year, last year I could not do a Skype video call on 4G because of the heating issues but that got much better
Are you still facing heating issues, I am thinking of buying pixel 6 should I go for it or not.
Oh, how time flies? It's now in a "Is it still good? review.
Welcome back, Mike! Dope video. I swear if I wasn’t such a techie, I’d still be using the Pixel 6 for sure
thanks a lot Ray! the Pixel 6 is definitely one of my most favorite Pixel models.
I love my 6 pro. The only thing is I wish it had the zoom of the galaxy
Same. The Pixel 9 pro is the best combination: three cameras but the non-Pro size.

I prefer Pixel 6 kinda square design over PIxel 7 and 8

I miss the glass visor design, as I'm looking for a 2nd phone , I may just look into a 6, plus they're dirt cheap
true, I wish they'd bring it back.
How about the finger print sensor?
not the fastest (Pixel 8 is miles better) but it has worked decently in my experience.
Better than pixel 6? Because lot of problem with finger print in pixel 6 and 6 pro.
I've had no issues
