You actually make a specific recommendation rather than the all predictable cop-out conclusion that all the tech channels (mkbhd,mwtb,verge,dave2d,gsmarena) indiscriminately is guilty of since the last 10 years. "it is based on your preference." -then dont title your video like you have a clear answer dumbass! They are so terrified of polarizing their audience that they lose all the sense of logic when concluding a video. This video feels like a revolutionary change from the same pattern boring formula of tech reviews. You have my respect and you have earned a sub sir!
I would like to use a pixel but I’m deep in the apple ecosystem now lol. Tbh all phones these days run perfectly smooth and are adequate. Whatever is the most integrated with the other tech I use will be the clear winner for me. The ease of use between my iPad, Apple Watch, Apple TV and iPhone is seamless 😊
Would I tell people in this circumstance is just to keep an old iPhone or if you have to buy like a cheap iPhone 12 or iPhone 10X or something just to have for iMessage and such. Or keep your current iPhone but then invest in a used Pixel from a previous generation. They're not all that functionally different you could get like a picto7 Pro for 350 bucks or a pixel 8 for 300 bucks. Pixel 6 Pro over $175. These days it's actually a good thing to have a second phone anyway and iPhone has added support for RCS. But I do understand if you have an Apple TV and an iPad and Mac... And everyone you know is sending you group chats on iMessage. I remember I worked at a department where there was 17 people and 16 of them had an iPhone. I was the loan outlier
I managed to get a 16 pro to crash in a store, and all I did was take a 5x photo, open it and zoom in. Completely crashed, reboot needed. Sad for a €1400 phone.
For those moaning about the long term functionality of pixels (fluidity), my brother’s Pixel 6 is WAYY faster than my iPhone 13. Both phones came out late 2021. And my iphone is even newer (purchase date).
Always trying IOS but i I always go back to android. Sideloading, notification, file system, system wide navigation, better notification system and freedom to do what you want is why I'm still on android.
The real question is, would you have a phone with a higher refresh rate screen but weaker processor, or rather have a phone with a lower refresh rate but stronger processor? (Processor is especially important for people who want to hold on to their device for a long time) Then there are the Fingerprint vs FaceID and the Android vs iOS arguments. The general consumer won’t feel any difference with the cameras anyway. That AI would take a long time to release in most iPhones is definitely a bummer though.
You convincing us or yourself. Bro 60hz in 2024 whether you’re tech savvy or not it feels slow, all that power in the iPhone doesn’t mean much in day to day use doing normal things, however you will appreciate the high refresh rate everytime. But ofcouse there’s no convincing Apple worshipers, mind you I’m writing this on my iPhone13 which I’ll be keeping even longer because Apple just doesn’t make exciting tech anymore.
Buddy ,in the end it's all optimisations, Huawei pura 70 pro runs with kirin 9000 which is a 5 yr old processor but still gives 9hrs SoT and 90 fps. Gaming..
Considering that I'm currently using a Google Pixel 6 and haven't had any performance issues in 3 years, a Pixel 9 processor will last for 7+ years without any problems. So I'll choose comfort and convenience over Apple's crap.
Still rocking my refurbished pixel 3 XL and i can say it is the best UI of all the phones. Very simple and intuitive. I will be getting another refurbished pixel within the next year.
I am using macbook....just for apple environment, should I go for iphone or should I buy pixel....I just fear that when AI features will be launched, there would also be updates for features of apple environment, thatswhy I am confused.
I used to own a Pixel, was a decent phone. In fact my first four smart phones were android devices. The thing of it is the app ecosystem and how your phone works with other devices/software at least the last time I owned an Android device just simply worked better on iOS devices. I don't care about either companies "AI" features at this point, plus Google's data harvesting is vastly more invasive.
I have had the Pixel 9 for 6 months now. I moved up from Pixel 8, and had other versions of the Pixel. This is easily the best phone I have ever had, and the quality difference is significantly better. The only thing I do not see an improvement is the battery. The ergonomics are a distinct improvement from the quality of the phone, how it feels in the hand, and the operation of the various uses. Gemini and AI are unimpressive to me, in particular with photos. I hate hate fake photos. Stepping up to the Pixel 9 is without a doubt a must move from any other Pixel.
I dont understand, iphone has the same identical design for the 4th generation. It still has the giant blob in the centre top of the screen and apple has not made any effort to actually improve the design vs. google's improvement over the generations of pixel releases. The regular iphone doesn't even have material advantage as it's aluminium as opposed to titanium on the pros, which would at least offer some advantage. The camera setup on regular iphones this year is not even as original as it was before, it more resembles some of the midrange chinese phones on the market from honor with the two bulging eyes. Please explain your infatuation with 4th gen identical apple design?
Both great phones but the Pixel is just such a good all-rounder. I wish they put a 3x lens like the base Galaxy S phones though. It's definitely going to be my next phone
Yeah, trusting Google, an advertising company, with you personal information is not something any person with a double digit IQ would do. Sorry iPhone wins if you care about privacy.
I also wish they increase the storage for the base model since they've had a price increase two years in a row. I don't think the prices are outrageous or anything but it was cool when they were hyper competitive at $600 and 900 respectively. Then the next year it was $7l799/999with a $60 upsell to double your storage so effectively a $60 price increase for 256. But this year at least in my country the US, 256 GB versions are up now $140 from last year so $1,200 instead of 1160 and 900 instead of 860. But honestly doesn't seem to have hurt sales. I'm sure a lot of people are not actually paying full price but getting subsidized through a carrier
@@hypno0784I can't speak from experience because I have not used the telephoto on the s24 but megapixels are not necessarily indicative of quality. Sensor size is a much more important variable usually depending on use case. I mean there's benefits to having more megapixels but there's also downsides because the pixels are smaller. Don't get me wrong it's entirely possible that your critique of the camera is justified I can't say... But it's probably not because of the megapixel count so much as it being a middling sensor that they have an upgraded in a few years. Some companies are now trying to hype up really high megapixel counts on pretty middling or even smaller sensors. Like the zombie 10 Note Pro or the Moto edge Plus 2020. Those had 108 megapixel cameras and really weren't any good or at least we're average at best.
the tensor G3 has enough lag in normal tasks to the point that it actually feels somewhat slower than the iphone 16 or the s24(by a long shot) in normal use. like let's be honest here, charging 799 for a phone with similar performance to Samsung's a55 is a crime in itself edit: wrote itone instead of iPhone
youve done this video so well, but.... in every single comparison the pixel is at the right and the iphone is at the left, but the scores are flipped, why?
What a video!!! After Marquess maybe you are the one I would watch, just for the sake of watching the video and not for the value in the content - because your videos look so good!!!
Geekbench scores don't define real performance clearly of it is 2 to 3x fast I never observed that kind of lag in any instance or daily usage. If hardware values define performance the pixel has additional cores and frequency. Clear winner in that senses
The comparison specs are confusing since you are holding the iPhone on your right while facing the camera and its specs are on your left. Maybe put it the same way you are having which phone are you holding. Overall this is an informative comparison.
gotta say, it is anoying because the left and right visual keeps switching between pixel and iPhone, its annoying to follow. also, it does not correspond with what you have in your hand.
Problem with Pixel is video. If you take video on pixel it looks awesome but once you share in social medias or forward it via Whatsapp. Quality drops significantly, its not enjoyable to watch it. Quality is like 80% lower.
Android 16 will fix this. The Android 16 Developer Preview 2 that have just launched have direct APIs , and apps can now take full advantage of cameras.
I would buy the iphone 16 for how it feels in hand, I tested one and it feels nice, what keeps me away for now it's the screen refresh rate. I would also buy the pixel 9 I don't hold one but looks so much as an iPhone, what keeps me away is the price... i hated iPhone for their prices now google moved the line of price range... (ps I have Samsung s23(no upgrade for s24 because of that dirty exynos in EU), I like small phones I don't see the reason to buy a 10inch display phone that weights 300 grams just to destroy my pinky and to hardly operate it with 1 hand.)
multitasking in iphone is a joke compared to pixels. night and day difference. only gaming will be better, but let's remember the ton of systems that can be emulated in android and gaming on android will always be a better choice. and now with winlator, let's just say that can't even compare.
@1:58 there's no good reason for 60Hz? Well, by default Pixel 9 is at 60Hz so even Google felt saving battery was important. Speaking of money grabs there's no reason for Google to follow Apple other than greed.
yes i agree that even google kept the display to 60hz by default, but the screen has the option for 120hz for those who wish to enjoy that fast display. A point worth considering!
Keyword: default. You can set your refresh rate to a lower value on any device worth it's salt. Apple skimped on the hardware here to make a buck by exploiting people who wouldn't notice until they bought it, blindly trusting the brand.
If i wanna use or not, Google gives me the option to choose between 60 and 120 hz. My Asus Zenfone 9, has three options , 60, 90 and 120 hz and is 2 years old.😊
Is pixel UI lighter than Samsung’s UI, and is the overall experience better than the Samsung Ultra? I’m thinking of buying it. Currently, I have an iPhone 14 Plus.
Yeah and how long before the phone commits sepaku. I had a 6 and the first one froze then turned off, 2nd one did the same thing and the third one started bleeding blue and it died
I think this is the first phone that can retain its resell value like iPhones. This phone is awesome, benchmarks don't do it justice. To be frank, they shouldn't matter for 95% of people. I only wish developers focused on android on pixels as well for in app camera/video performance
Love the review. And most definitely the pixel is a much nicer phone this year. Google did a really great job to the point where I've seen many switch from an iPhone to a pixel
If it was only about the phone, then I would replace my iPhone Mini with a Moto Razr. But people and tech reviewers seem to forget that it’s less about the phone and more about what you do with it. Pixel has Google Fi, better integration with GoogleVoice and google maps, and Gemini. But if you already have an iPad and Air Pods and Air tags, and a Mac, there’s not much point in getting anything but an iPhone. But if none of that matters to you, judged only by the merits of a singular device/phone, then Razr or OnePlus would be better.
Only reason they have it at 60hz is cause if they put it to 120hz the pros would never sell 💀💀💀💀💯💯

I had pixel phones for 2 years and they would constantly have issues with google apps.
@@edms3656 Bro its gonna be 2 years in November since I've been using the Pixel 7 Pro as well.
There's not a single issue that I've had with this phone, except for the Camera Visor getting a good number of scratches [cause I never rock a case].
The whole UI is far more fluid and more Apple-like, even better than One UI imo.
@@navixaxa5023 it may also be that every person‘s experience with pixels is going to differ to a degree. I feel that the quality control is not consistent. There are people who have great experiences in others who have horrible experiences. Some have heat and battery issues and others don’t
If Pixel that good why is iPhone sold more?
@@mongolcoi it sell more because some humans are far more stagnant minded than others, and are against trying new things out of fear they'll have to abandon what they're use to. 😂😂😂
I really wish Pixel 9 got a blue color. I got the wintergreen bc it was the closest thing 😢
legit
Unfortunately, both phones are not available in Indonesia. that's very sad.
Man, watching this one 720p (gotta love spectrum's spotty internet) and the video quality still looks amazing! You earned my subscription. 💯
Bro I really wanna say that the thumbnail was absolutely phenomenal. If it wasn't for that I would not have clicked.
4:46 Genimi sounds better than Gemeni I think. 😅
😂😂😂
hahahahhh
😅😅
I heard that
Holy moly do you know how long I've waited for a reviewer that is actually grounded to real world consumer sentiments and considers the price (the biggest factor when comparing 2 products).
Apple is not as great as the pixel 9
Video production quality is lit!!!!
I managed to get a 16 pro to crash in a store, and all I did was take a 5x photo, open it and zoom in. Completely crashed, reboot needed. Sad for a €1400 phone.
Can’t decide between these two, honestly, I'll pick based on which phone case I can find more easily
If you decide to go for the Google Pixel, Burga has some nice case options
@@MeganBelton1 looked them up and they have cases for both of them?? so good luck choosing I guess 🤣
For those moaning about the long term functionality of pixels (fluidity), my brother’s Pixel 6 is WAYY faster than my iPhone 13. Both phones came out late 2021. And my iphone is even newer (purchase date).
You are a very honest reviewer, this is great....
Love the video and the fair analysis! Got yourself a new subscriber 👍🏽💯
How much you want to look like "LL Stylish"?
ORBIT: Yes.
Should have mentioned sideloading, the most important Android feature
If he mentioned SideLoading he'd have to mention Play Integrity too which limits SideLoading based on the app dev.
Sideloading is allowed in EU
is it
Sideloading is allowed in Africa
Always trying IOS but i I always go back to android. Sideloading, notification, file system, system wide navigation, better notification system and freedom to do what you want is why I'm still on android.
Very professional video, keep it up!
60Hz in 2024 is a joke...
Yes😢
Oh he’s talking shit again 😂60hz 😂
damn you spent a bit on the backgrounds :D well done, the contrast looks amazing!🔥
The real question is, would you have a phone with a higher refresh rate screen but weaker processor, or rather have a phone with a lower refresh rate but stronger processor? (Processor is especially important for people who want to hold on to their device for a long time)
Then there are the Fingerprint vs FaceID and the Android vs iOS arguments.
Excellent commentary and content. Thanks for sharing your knowledge. 🙏🏾

Everyone does not have to be fluent in English tho.
How many foreign languages do you speak?
Just watch the video, get the info you need and that s all
I used to own a Pixel, was a decent phone.
Color grading is next level
What about the microphone (Audio on video)? Iphone does well in loud environments such as Concerts. How about the pixel?
Where have you been all these while. Anyways you just gained a subscriber
5:11 You can have circle to search in iphone by backtap
A tiny 12mp telephoto at that? No thanks, rather have bigger main and ultra wide cameras
Finally someone pointing out the obvious about 60Hz panel, its just unacceptable at this price point
For sound quality on video recording which you prefer because I've always go to see concert then record or even record my own band on the go😊
what about the performance part?
that not wobbling on a table is bigger than most manufacturers think
They are from the same factory in shenzhen, it's called Foxconn
How is wobbling on the table always being mentioned? How do you use your phone tho?
It's used as a time filler it's corny since most people use cases anyway.
Thank you, Pixel clearly a winner, I am going to upgrade mine. Thanks
They are also similar because Samsung made AMOLED panels for both.
bro your video visuals are fantastic
Can you turn the camera button on the iPhone16 off? Its annoying
Very nice 👍 video ❤❤, took a lot of pleasure watching it 🥰
Lovely videos Matt, I’m definitely looking up to buy the iPhone 17. I’m on 12 Mini now and I just wish Apple throws in an iPhone 17 Mini again.
The benefit of 60hz is battery life. That's why it's off by default for the Pixel...
Yes but im surely glad im able to turn it on. The Reason why the normal Iphones are stuck to 60 Hz tho is probably Battery life.
The pixel can dile there refresh rate to I think 1 heart so there battery is still better optimised then apple when it comes to that
@@justturbo8573apple literally does that exact same thing though?
Its not off by default, in fact pixels screen has ltpo technology which is even more efficient than regular 60hz
Nop, I have an LTPO display in my phone and yet I forse 120hz on all apps , phone is meant to be enjoyed .
how much is the pixel 9 right now?
600+-
for me, the pixel is the clear winner, due to custom rom compatibility, its nice UI, the design looks better to me too and its quite abit cheaper
Agree, the phones are quite similar with the exception that they look completely different, one use Android while the other iOS.
the tensor G3 has enough lag in normal tasks to the point that it actually feels somewhat slower than the iphone 16 or the s24(by a long shot) in normal use. like let's be honest here, charging 799 for a phone with similar performance to Samsung's a55 is a crime in itself
edit: wrote itone instead of iPhone
Google pixel has no performance issues :)
The Pixel 9 in Mint is so gorgeous!
the iphone 16 can actually record in prores in the blackmagic camera app from what i can remember. although it can't record in apple log though
youve done this video so well, but....
in every single comparison the pixel is at the right and the iphone is at the left, but the scores are flipped, why?
Really helpful video, thanks a lot❤❤👏👏
What a video!!!
After Marquess maybe you are the one I would watch, just for the sake of watching the video and not for the value in the content - because your videos look so good!!!
Knowing him only when speaking german it's so weird to now hear him speak English
Geekbench scores don't define real performance clearly of it is 2 to 3x fast I never observed that kind of lag in any instance or daily usage. If hardware values define performance the pixel has additional cores and frequency. Clear winner in that senses
It does
The comparison specs are confusing since you are holding the iPhone on your right while facing the camera and its specs are on your left.
Also if you zoom in out on pixel, it lags
You forgot to mention the performance gains on iPhone. Big difference maker when comparing optimisation and multitasking or let’s say gaming.
multitasking in iphone is a joke compared to pixels. night and day difference. only gaming will be better, but let's remember the ton of systems that can be emulated in android and gaming on android will always be a better choice. and now with winlator, let's just say that can't even compare.
I just switched to pixel from iPhone. I usually get the new iPhone every year. Not this time. To me Apple lost innovation. I do not regret switching.
Also mention the cool features like battery share and the other cool stuff that's only available on Google phones!
A point worth considering!
choosing between options and making do with what you have are two completely different things man
Keyword: default.
My Asus Zenfone 9, has three options , 60, 90 and 120 hz and is 2 years old.😊
Great video as always, but is Gemini not Genimi ☺️🤪
omg, english channel?? LOVE
i cant find any difference in 60Hz vs 120Hz during usage..May be only for gamers it would matter, not sure
And what about the microphone above the camera lens?
where are the small phones??!?
Who heard him saying Genimi instead of Gemini 😂😂😂
I think this is the first phone that can retain its resell value like iPhones. This phone is awesome, benchmarks don't do it justice. To be frank, they shouldn't matter for 95% of people. I only wish developers focused on android on pixels as well for in app camera/video performance
How can I get the iphone wallpapers you used in this video
04:46 - he's still unable to pronounce it correctly... it's GeMini, not GeNimi
😂
The only thing that could have saved the iphone was if they allowed ProRes and ProRaw. Otherwise it has absolutely no chance against the Pixel.
To be honest, Iphones 14 - 16 are just price upgrades.
Pixel has been killing it lately. I'm still rocking my pixel 7 ❤
