I am sure it will spread to more phones eventually, a lot of the features that start out exclusive to pixels do. this is because it's sort of a testing ground for google to try out new features on phones that are more likely to be compatible with them without causing problems. the biggest problem I see with these safety features is if there is a bug that suddenly starts registering car accidents and starts then randomly calling the police on your behalf this could cause some problems. being on the google pixel they can quickly turn off the feature on all the phones and get out a patch much faster on them because they have full control over the firmware and such for the phones whereas if they were to put the feature on every device with say android 13, and let's say that all the devices that ship with this has this bug, google can put out a patch for the feature but it would be up to all of the individual companies to send out the updates to the users because they have to apply it to their own unique modified ROM version of android. this would especially be an issue with pre-paid phone company entry-level type phones that may never see an update past the initial shipment. Luckily the pixels are guaranteed several years of android upgrades and several more year's worths of security updates., features like this will likely only be seen in bigger flagship devices that agree to a similar update plan. overall this is going to be a super tricky feature to get out to everyone unless they can guarantee that it will be flawless it's honestly more likely that other companies will release their own version of these safety features that they manage and update themselves, or app developers come up with something that they update. but whoever it is that does it will always be liable if devices start bugging out and making false calls to the police/first responders causing grief for them and potentially taking away from real emergencies.
