Remember playing this with my young cousins and the first time we found out that we could 'skim' both grenades and rockets across the water - it changed the game forever! - Nice work Conner!
The game is also on ps3 store if you have one and it’s only like 6 bucks
What a gem. Went back to last month after 15 years.... It holds up! Mostly because the maps are very well-designed.
And the dumb inocent humor of it still holds up, love it
Ah a fellow Brummie do I hear! Cheers for the support through mentioning the Kickstarter! We hope to do the community proud
Close enough to Brum to count! I'm glad you found my video. I do hope the kickstarter gets all the attention it needs and I'll be putting some money down when the time comes!
@@ConnersRetroOmnibus Cheers dude, look forward to see you there on launch day :)
Miss playing this game so much. Would pay full price for a remake
They are making one already
@@dentistde I didn't know that, great news! Can't wait! Until then I will be playing the original.
This needs to be added onto the ps5 classics section
Used to play this gem on the PS1 with my brother. Still remember thrashing him on a valley map, throwing freezing and poison gas down at him from ledges above before bombarding him with grenades.
Huge fan of Rik Mayall. Currently trying to get the rom working on my emulator, but looking forward to the Lardcore version 😂
I feel like this game managed to do a better job of adapting the Worms formula to 3D than Team 17 managed to do.
I feel like the game benefits from being designed to work laterally, as opposed to having to adapt the verticality and movement tech that Worms was known for, making for a much simpler, but arguably better game.
I have the same thoughts exactly! I was always a fan of Worms in 2D, but not quite 3D. Your comments about the verticality not translating as well to a 3D plane are bang on.
I love this game. I used to play it for hours on PS One, then ended up getting it again years later on Vita. I always love the little quips and lines for each pig before they attack and when they die. Some of my faves are Bastille (French), Keanu (American), Yehudi (Russian) and Kendo (Japanese). Definitely a gem of a game!
Just started watching, if you say that this is not a gem, I warn you, Ill come back and make mean comments!! Joking aside, spent whole summers playing this with family and friends, really wholesome family friendly fun in a war game xD
It was always going to be unlikely that I said Hogs of War was junk! I hope you stayed around to find out the answer.
absolutely loved it, was very close to participating in the hogs of war grunt league, but couldnt fit it into my schedual, but its now a yearly event, so it will be a case of better late than never
I turned 30 yesterday and I remember playing this when it was brand new
God nostalgia is beautiful and strange
Still play it!
Playing the campaign now with two friends. True nostalgia!
I remember when we had 6 weeks off school during summer and rented a PS1 and this game from the local video store. back when the world was fine.
i think this is one of the best ps1 games. the big crater map on multiplayer made me laugh so hard to tears. throwing that laughing gas at my little sister seeing her watch her pigs run down into the crater laughing as she shouts nooo. a great game that gave me these great memories of the 90's.
The multiplayer made it the ultimate social game, and still is. You don't play stuck in the seat and nose against the screen while ignoring what's around you. I Always played with my mates and we laughed so much. We had the Playstation outside with the CRT and plastic chairs. Only needed 1 controller for the four of us. So many trickshots too
I don't understand how people mention the multiplayer without mentioning the Death Bowl. A 4 player game on that map is so much fun.
honestly the devs missed their chance of releasing the remaster during the pandemic. It would have exploded as a social game like among us and more recently lethal company
There is an active hogs of war community. , with tournaments for veterans and newcomers in UA-cam
I spent whole weekends and I mean WHOLE weekends on this game, good times...
This is probably my favourite ever PS1 game. Ok the graphics weren’t great but that didn’t matter, a few beers on a Friday night listening to Rik take the piss was perfect
Just found out this is available on PS Vita! I'm picking this up soon!!
Absolutely loved this as a kid. However, I had the German version. As a Dutch kid with no language choices at the time, and Dutch versions not being a thing at all, I made do. And so I knew this as Front Schweine. And I assure you, the game was 100% only elevated by the German voices.
Maybe Join the hogs of war community on UA-cam
Played it to death had to buy another copy in the day. Can't wait for the remake the day it comes out I'll be camping outside the shop 😂
Worms did not do 3D better than Hogs of War. It is why they went back to 2D. =)
Yeah I played worms 3d for a little bit and it sucked. I'm not sure why but it did.
I still have my original playstation cd and play it from time to time. Like last weekend with my gf who allso loves it
i dont know what it is about this game, but i have to play through it at least 3 times a year. Even got it on my phone. Really hope the remake reheated will be good.
It has a lot of replay value for sure. Im pretty confident the remaster will be good :)
I was so good at this that if my brother or I had a friend round, it would be two teams against me.
Only used to play Tekken with my mates, then Hogs of War came along. We all loved it, couldn't put it down, such a good game. Tekken, meh.
Worms before worms on maximals 😂
This sounds great, not that there's anyone about to play with these days!
It's a great game for local vs play. Something of a dying art when it comes to modern games, but nothing beats sharing a couch within punching range of the other player in a 1-4 person match for games like this and Worms. I would love a port (or sequel) for PC with servers for online play.
A gem ..no doubt
Its a jem. Its a lorra lora fun and Ric is great
I bought it and didn’t even play on steam
Lardcore is incoming
