I came across your channel and series because I'm looking at buying the same bag - possibly the LT (light) version. Saw your Atmos 65 review and got to here. Will be doing hike-packing and bike-packing across the world over the next year or two. A new adventure. Thanks for sharing your experience.
Two months ago, I discovered this miniseries, and it changed my life. In the ensuing time, my favorite uncle died and my wife and I both came down with awful cases of COVID. I'm finally coming out the other side of that, and have a renewed fire to chase the inspiration you sparked in me with this experience you documented so beautifully. Thank you AGAIN AND AGAIN for what you've created. It is far and away the greatest AT thru-hike film I've seen, and one of the most encouraging pieces of nature-centered/human-centered art I've encountered in my lifetime.
I can’t thank you enough for this kind and heartfelt comment, truly appreciate it. Makes me so happy to know that you have nature to help with the tough times, we could all use a respite from life’s challenges. Hike on!!!!
Hands down my favorite AT documentary ever. It captures the essence of trail life so well. Having this on YT for everyone to see is truly amazing. Thanks for posting it here ✨
Only one video in, and already I am shocked that this doesn't have exponentially more views. This is utterly fantastic in both content and production. Your capturing of so many disparate, yet ultimately universal, threads that weave so many lives together along this one long path is magnificent. I eagerly look forward to the rest!
Nick, how proud you must be of this marvelous film. Kudos to the editor! A great family story that I truly loved! Congratulations. Can’t wait for part 2.
Thanks so much! Truly appreciate that. Did the editing myself, with sound done by one of my brothers :-) Part 2 coming next week! Hope to release one a week!
Hollywood, like the others, I am extremely happy to see you starting to post this here, and I very much look forward to Part 2 and all the rest of it. Seeing the old family footage mixed in with the more recent stuff is a true "full circle" moment. So great to see. I hope this finds you well. All the best, Jack NYC
This is a remarkable documentary. One if the best hiking documentaries, by a mile. I loved the way you have so succinctly captured so many peoples' motivations to be on the trail. Every part is packed full of heart, charm, unique characters, interesting narration and individual stories, as well of course as the views along the trail. Moving, connecting, incredibly watchable - just fantastic ❤
What’s up brother this is Bear. Fellow 2020’r. I summited with Flash on Mama K and hiked most the way with guys and gals like Uncle Jim, Fonzie, Bender, Dr X, and Hotpants. Thanks for posting these memories, the people who made our year so special and great. I’ll gladly reminisce. What a fucking year man, nobody who didn’t hike in our year can understand. Happy trails.
lol, you’re a kind soul… I’ve never heard someone describe chipmunk chirps as beautiful 😂 Maybe I have too many around my house, because they drive me up a wallllllluh!
Really enjoying your movie making skills. Telling a story in an artful way is a challenge and yours is one of the best I have seen. My wife and I are slowly watching your quality production. In an era of repetitive unimaginative video your quality stands out. FYI, in 2020 the WOKE Appalachian Trail Conservancy was DEMANDING everyone stay off The Trail and hide in their homes. You ignored this and hiked The AT anyhow. So glad that you not only hiked The AT but created this artful video documentary. 👣👣👣👣
Appreciate you watching!!! Pumped for your grand adventure. Keep in touch and reach out with any questions, glad to help. Got some content on the channel that might be helpful. And stay tuned for part 2 coming soon :-)
Especially enjoyed this part, hiker❣️😃 so many familiar sites, you makin your way through my stomping grounds, some familiar faces❣️❤️😎 You are blessed with an awesome family, so fun-loving and warm❣️Big hugs to your mom❣️❤️🤗🥰 So cool that your 20 year dream came true❣️❤️ Your film making and editing is the bomb❣️👊🏻😎 Big hugs to you, too, Hollywood❣️❤️🤗😃🥰
I am a long distance bike rider. And I've come to learn something about myself. If I want to do it, if I really want to do it. I will. So for me doing something like the AT would be 80% mental, and 20% physical. All I need is to get in better physical shape, and get better gear.
Hey Nick. Absolutely brilliant documentary. Thank you for all that you put into it and also just wanted to let you know that your videos had an impact on my own decision to hike the AT this year ❤ (ps. We were the same hiking shirt 😂)
You just made my day. So appreciate this message. And hell yeah! Pumped about your journey! That shirt’s a winner ;-) Wish I had 10 more, it’d be all I wore lol
Come walk the Appalachian Trail with me!
And just remember -- "If you can't carry it in your PACK or in your SOUL... you don't need it!"
Just made the decision a few weeks ago I'll be going 2025. Going to take 24 to train and get ready. Can't wait !!

Captures the trail PERFECTLY. The best at doc I’ve seen by far. Part 2!?!?!
Part 2 coming soon!!!
Remember that the ATC did not want hikers on The Trail that year. The ATC has refused to issue completion certificates for most 2020 thru-hikes.
I am a long distance bike rider. And I've come to learn something about myself. If I want to do it, if I really want to do it. I will. So for me doing something like the AT would be 80% mental, and 20% physical. All I need is to get in better physical shape, and get better gear.

He read it in 1817? Wow this guy is old.
1817? Might be forgetting my own doc lol, Wucha referring to?
@PackAndSoul The guy in beginning who said if you can't carry it in your pack or soul you don't need it. He said he read it in a log book in 1817.
@@kckrye AHHH gotcha, He was saying in his beautiful New England accent that he read it in 18 or 17, like 2018 or 2017 lol
