Al Pitrelli is underrated!!
He deserves a lot more spotlight
He has the spotlight. He basically is Trans Siberian orchestra as the musical director for all the guitar and keyboard music. Makes way more money than he would at megadeth
Not sure why people are dogging Al Pitrelli, this dude is sharp on the guitar. Marty is great as well, nice to hear a different approach to these fantastic songs.
Agreed. Solos involve alot of personal feel and it's always interesting to hear another take on it.

Compare Al to Kiko today. Al plays them like they re his solos.

Absolutely....you are right on the money.
People hate on Al Pitrelli, including Dave himself, but I honestly think he was better for the band soundwise than Glen Drover. Pitrelli actually played the solos more accurate and true to the original recording too. I think Glen Drover is actually kind of a sloppy player compared to Pitrelli. I’d say Drover is my least favorite guitarist of all who have come and gone over the years. After watching this clip again I find it’s actually not a bad performance at all.

Jimmy De Grasso is a killer drummer, but he slows down/speeds up pretty dramatically at times; sounds like the rest of the band has to rush to keep up with him.

and he added so many cymbal alternations in the solos that sounded... so off
That's called real rock, man. Any band not playing without a click live is going to have some tempo change.

Hello, I'm a drum student and my teachers have told me that metal drummers have the tempo one sixteenth ahead of normal, it's a normal tempo for them, it's like reggae, that they handle it a sixteenth backwards because of its slowness, I hope to contribute something, I send you a big hug
For me this was the 2 nd best line up after the classic one ( Friedman, Menza, Mustaine and Ellefson). Degrasso was a hell of a drummer, and I really liked Pitrelli, he respected the original notes and put his own style, he was so underrated

Al Pitrelli was the first pro i ever heard up close at a clinic in New Hampshire in 91.
This was was the first megadeth song/version ive heard and i was sold instantly. Degrassos drumming sounded so good

I bought this live DVD years ago and I absolutely loved this version of the song. Probably my favorite live version of “Hangar 18.” I love that it’s speedier and gives an extra punch.
David and DiGrassio on my headphones both make such a great couple.

It is extremely sacrilegious to play Marty's solos incorrectly...that would be the same as changing the solo to Sweet Child of Mine ...AL clearly plays his take on it and it sounds awesome. As if he actually played on the record

Nothing beats the Rust In Peace lineup but let me tell ya, this lineup is not bad at all. Jimmy de Grasso and Pitrelli were just great. Too bad they lasted only one album
The Killing is my business and Peace sells lineup was very underrated, Chris Poland and Gar Samuelson were awesome !!!

rafael lisboa santos well is actually pitrelli cant play arpeggios and some guitar scales, is harder than it is
he didnt ruin the solo at all :) just a little bit different, the man brought his own flavor here. personally i like it
