    2021.. TONS different.. TONS the same. I am here to educate and hopefully provide a clear and clean cut definition of some of the major changes that are being implemented this year. Whether you like them or not, that is completely a personal choice :P I do however… urge you to keep a positive outlook on testing these things so you get honest results.. and then form opinions!
    For those of you still reading, HTR will be making more videos in the near future on how to best handle these rule changes and dominate the field. BUT FIRST! I have to re-learn how to do everything haha Give it a smidget of time for me to do that and as I learn so will you!
    P.S. I hear there might be a new pickup video with these rules coming very soon :)
    Preston, out, for now… I will return!

    Wow these new rules are going to really clear up some of the grey areas my friends and I have been dealing with on serves! It makes way more sense to have a line to keep your feet behind instead of a line to keep your whole body behind.

    woah. Those are some sweeping changes. I really like the soft-touch rule. Reminds me a lot of Beachvolleyball and feels like a good "buff" to defense.
    One big concern I have with the no-hit-zone is, that it seems to be an advantage for taller players. Not needing to be tall was imho a big strength of Roundnet. But lets see how it plays out

    I like some of the rules of the SRA. Especially the new serving line and soft touch. But i don't like the no hit zone, it changes the way to spike too much, i loved to lean over the net. Exited what will be adapted by the IRF and our national Federation in Germany.

    I think hitting will rely much more on strength and depth instead of angles. Which i think would be a good thing. Just kind of sad that they didn't make the rule universal and already some communitys saying they won't oblige by those rules. Also great Vid, hope you will return to Austria someday :)

    • @markokljajic6124
      @markokljajic6124 3 роки тому

      I think you can switch your pivot foot, but you can’t lift it in when performing a serve. So, if you’re faking, you can change your pivot foot, as long as you don’t lift the foot on the follow through.

    I’m still confused about soft touch. if you tried to hit it with your hand and you missed a little, is it still considered a deflection as long as the ball was on an upward trajectory and it came off your hand in an upward trajectory?? I though you had to be kind of planted and using your hand as more of a block then a hit but this seems like as long as the trajectory is up it’s still a soft touch

  • @franksmith7278
    @franksmith7278 3 роки тому +1

    Question on the No Hit Zone: If you hit the ball while leaning forward, not feeling totally balanced, your instinct is to step through the zone to regain body control. However, you realize this is a violation, so you do a cork-screw flip which allows your feet (or points of ground contact) to remain outside the zone, while your body passes over the edge of the net and through the zone. Is this illegal? Since your points of ground contact remain outside the zone during the entire hitting process (even though your center of mass passed through the zone), it seems that it would be legal, no?

    • @HOWTOROUNDNET
      @HOWTOROUNDNET  3 роки тому

    • @markokljajic6124

      I think the idea is when the ball hits your body twice inadvertently. For example, the ball hit your leg and chest on the way up from a serve. In this situation, the ball rolls up your body and hits multiple parts of your body. Technically, it’s not an intentional double touch.
