First Review • Fray Fitness Smith Mac...
I've had my Fray smith machine for about 3 months now and very happy with the purchase. The machine is very sturdy, solid and I feel 100% safe using it after making a couple of very minor adjustments. The price was excellent and they have since then gone up quite a bit. This was a steal of a deal thanks to your excellent video reviews.
What adjustments did you make?
I purchased the Fray smith machine based on your reviews alone. I looked at several others for more than twice the cost. This one looked sturdy and solid and at a good price based on your video. I know you have years of experience with equipment and would not recommend something that didn't work. Thank you very much for your excellent review.
Hey how’s this holding up?
Thanks for the review. I like your addition of the bolt.
Thank you for this second video. Its on backorder so I have to wait, but you have sold me on it with you answering just about all my questions.
Glad I can help....
Did you end up getting this?
Just got mine yesterday and it’s your videos that sold me on it’s cheap construction,me being a fabricator I wanted thicker and strong but the cost for just the steel was to high for me to build
Thank you again for the only review of this item 💪🏻👊
You are very welcome.. It's serving me good in my small personal training studio.. Hope you enjoy it.. Don't forget to put the bolt through for the bar stop.. It's a must..
so do you enjoy it?

What a story to be told ,....more than one part is way out of square till I decide when to fix it
So basically I have t assembled it as of yet because I need to grind some of the parts welds and true them up so it makes assembly easier when i can get to it
I emailed them and with my professional grade welding pics of my work and all they had to say was “we’ve never had a complaint “ and “well it’s the cheaper base model”
That and my gym is back open for over a month or more so I’m not pressing it
Oh and they did ask what I wanted to do about it and i to save ship time over all this COVID stuff i told them I’d just fix it cause I have zero faith in their welding 🤷🏻♂️🤦🏻♂️
@@jamesball7322 oh great....
lets hope maybe urs was defective in some way

I hope I’m the only one cause if anyone else gets it like this and isn’t a fabricator they may not like it
Great video. I’m thinking of purchasing the sam machine. My only concern is the horizontal bar across the back. Does it prevent you from putting a bench underneath it to do decline presses?
Did you end up getting it?
From bottom of the bar to the ground is 21 1/2 inches.. my bench fits under it fine
Hey, whats the most you've lifted on this? Is it stable enough to do pull ups and heavy squats with?
Heaviest Ive gone in squats was 315.. its to low for pull ups..
@@bobbyworldwide Hey does it feel safe/secure or like you could push it over if your feet are too far out in front for squats when going that heavy?
Yes its possible to push it back if your feet are to far forward.. But the movement is small
I just got mine and put it all together but my bar doesn’t move as smooth as yours does. Anything you recommend doing?
Wd40
Did you get it to move smoothly?
yes.. I keep it lubed with WD40
Hey man just got this from someone on FB marketplace and the black plastic inserts that go inside the hole that slides thru the bars keep coming off. Has this happened to you?
Hey did you get this fixed?
No that has never happen.. maybe installed wrong?
I'm seriously considering purchasing this but i do have one question. There seems to be another bar parallel to the bar you lift weights with. When adding a flat bench, does this bar get in the way? I want to make sure that i can place a flat bench there so i can bench press without any issues. thanks!
No it wont get in the way... You will have to lay with your head nearest to that bar.. But there is plenty room..
@@bobbyworldwide thank you for the quick response. For the low cost and the solid quality, i'm sold!
@@stim178 yep.. Can't beat that price.. I just squat 370 with no issue today.. It's worth it..
I was wondering the exact same thing. I was planning on removing the horizontal bar and attaching it on the ground between the two legs with the bolts that are already in place. Looks like it should be a perfect fit and solution.
@@stim178you end up getting this?
What did you lubricate the bars with?
WD40 will be the fasted thing I think you can get your hand on now.. but here is a link to the right product for these kinda things

Hey bro, is it versatile enough to bench press on it.....i see there's a bar in the back that limits the room for a bench
Yes it is.. I'll put up a video today
Thank u for the info
I just did a video with bench pressing on it

I ended up purchasing one and I like it
But I'm just having a lil problem with bar gliding up and down its a rough....
Would have any advice on that
how big is the barbell? is it standard 7ft?
6 feet 6 inches.. sorry for the late reply
The price went up to $698.00
Wow.. How the hell is that?! Wow. Glad I bought it when I did..
@@bobbyworldwide you can get it right now (5-3-22) for $499 + free shipping on EBAY. They only have a few left.
@korgtritonextreme. I bought that one of eBay 3 days ago. They said it would arrive Wednesday May 25th which would have been 6 days. I was very excited and very anxious to get it and great luck got it just an hour ago 3 days earlier. So bummed to hear
About having to add the bolts though. Those are important when using this machine alone. Happy I purchased it can’t beat the price.
I got mine for $499 about 3 months ago and they are now $579 on Ebay. That's still a good price for what you are getting.
@@arricallmond8296 you don't have to add or drill bolts. I found a much easier and faster fix. It can be done in about 3-5 seconds. I need to show you a picture of what I did. Trying to explain it may not get the point across. If there's a way we can connect on messenger or text message than I can show you what I did. It's super simple and 100% effective.
Hello, what kind of bolt and cap should I use? Is it a specific size I should get?
No. Any.. 1/4 inch or 5/16 can work..nut and bolt.. no shorter than 4 inch
V Bastian Thank you
What kind of drill did you use?
@@justdoit1985 A 20 volt cordless power drill..cant recall the name brand
V Bastian thank you
Hi does this built with linear bearings ?
No it does not..
@@bobbyworldwide but still smooth movement right?
Yes still smooth.. just have to keep it lubed
