  • A "white label" not for sale VHS tape promoting Masaya's classic strategy RPG, Langrisser II, the sequel to the beloved Genesis title known as Warsong outside of Japan. This was distributed to retailers to play in store for customers and generate sales for the game. The video is a 30 minute tape that plays the same 6-minute segment five times. In addition to the standard preview stuff, director Shinjiro Takata is also interviewed to give his thoughts on the project. A vet in the strategy RPG/simulation field, he has worked on the Growlanser, Shin Megami Tensei, and Etrian Odyssey series as a director or producer. Also, you have to love anything from Satoshi Urushihara...that's peak anime style.
Also, I found this at a local Hard-Off for cheap--lucky!
    English Title: Langrisser II
    Japanese Title: ラングリッサーII
    Release Date: 1994
    Official Runtime: N/A
    Publisher: Masaya

This is a 2nd VHS upload today for the 2024 "Days of VHS" thing I'm doing. Only uploading two videos since the other one got flagged as adult content. So stupid. Also, Satoshi Urushihara's style is peak anime art. Or just peak art in general. Any other opinion will be discarded as invalid.

The first game was released as Warsong and it was pretty popular--I think this game remained Japan-only. Langrisser games are great, give them a try!
