    This is so helpful for someone that's been in a wheelchair for quite sometime now. I'm ready to start stretching muscles that haven't been used in a while. A quick story... 6 months ago today I literally passed away... There is still tremendous pain from the resuscitation and the bilateral pulmonary embolisms. When I do anything strenuous it's very painful, and this is very helpful. Thank you so much! You help those of us that aren't able in ways you'll never know 💞

      I agree! I was in a wheelchair for 3 months, and getting your flexibility and movement back can be so hard! I'm going to try these stretches now that I'm more mobile.

    I used to be able to do splits on both sides and middle split. Back in my dance/gymnastics days, I did what we called “over-split”. Do a split on either side and someone lifts the front leg, several inches and then the back leg.
    Then I started running. 6 years later, no splits. Not at all.

      @aliciaarcher  6 років тому +2

      Hehehehe! I know all about it 😉 What indicates a square split, is being able to keep both arms overhead and bending your back knee without the toes swerving side. True lower back still contributes, but what helps you stay on the back thigh is definitely your hip flexors.

I narrowed it down to my bad posture in my quadriceps stretch where u put ur knee behind you and my foot was not in a good shape.
