I really enjoyed this intimate interview , John Aston is the real deal
Great interview! I love him. Gene Loves Jezebel remains to be in my top 5 favorite bands of all time, strangely enough, next to Roxy Music. A lot of bands that inspired Gene Loves Jezebel also inspired me as a lyricist. We are all kindred spirits. Thank you for sharing this!

fine choices !
Cool interview. I really like the new album X-Love Death Sorrow. Discovered it looking for a GLJ greatest hits CD. Almost got a 5 CD collection but it never arrived once shipped so had to get a refund. Anyway, Jay (or John) reminds me of Johnny Marr a lot after reading Set the Boy Free. Lots of similar musical taste and influences from T. Rex to Magazine. Similar teetotaler vegetarian lifestyle. And Johnny was similar about jogging before or after gigs.
And Roxy Music as another commenter pointed out. So many similarities.
Nice nod to David Sylvian by Jay.
"Was David Bowie a good guitar player?
Bowie was an excellent rhythm guitarist, one of the best in rock music alongside John Lennon. 'Space Oddity','John I'm Only Dancing', 'The Man Who Sold The World', 'Rebel Rebel' ,'Diamond Dogs' are good examples. He was also no slouch on lead as evidenced on the 'Diamond Dogs' album."
