What a fantastic interview, great to hear the story GLJ and some of the background to the band and of Michaels history. Well done on this riveting stuff and thoroughly enjoyed.
I bought a cassette tape and cd of gene loves jezebel way back of my high school days ,im a big fan of them ...their music is one of a kind...hoping one day wish they reconcile forgive their differences and be back as twin brothers
This is the best GLJ interview wit the great Michael Aston.(the good twin). Bands history is fascinating & hilarious ro anybody that remembers how great the records were back then. GLJ really rocked it back in the eighties. Michael raw honesty is endlessly entertaining..... ❤🎉😊
Possibly one of the most underrated bands of all time. Discovered them about 13 or 14 years ago when actively looking for forgotten 80s music and I found Desire on the full Miami vice playlist. The rest is history. What a sound. They are truly unique.
wow, what a gem! I also love the questions you put out, Paco, because we get to hear very insightful glimpse into the mind and heart of a genius artist like Michael Aston. He is one a kind.
First Tape I bought with my own money was "House of Dolls" by Gene Loves Jezebel. It was also the first tape that didn't came back after being borrowed....😅
Interviews like this (and those with Jay as well) spend so much time in trash-talking and I-really-did-it-all-not-him accusations that you don't really learn much about what they're doing now and how later works came about, especially where Michael's concerned. Was he even asked for details about his latest work? Jesus, "The View" digs deeper than this. At least Jay had a couple of decent albums to talk about, and so what if they weren't the direction Michael wanted to go in? Both "Heavenly Bodies" and the new "X" album of Jay's are well-done records, decent pop-rock albums with classic GLJ shades built in. Michael began the "Why Me..." album with basically four country songs. I didn't see JLG going in that direction either! The fact that they both had to keep the band name shows that at least one of them is so stuck in regret and venom that they can't move on, which is very sad. Bitch less, play more.
The interviewer can't stop being obnoxious and interjecting. You want a really good interview? TORCHED and Judy Lyon did a brilliant interview only a few years back.

Paco please ask them when they are performing in the Philippines
Tmzp cheers
So he's Scottish.
Interesting to learn that it was motion of love that turned him off GLJ. That was the point for me too.
You don't like motion of love?? It's my absolute favorite!
I can tell that Michael is very hurt by the betrayal and misses his brother. Sad.

the less talented brother
I don't know how true that is considering when he left the band... They fell into obscurity. Jays music just couldn't cut it
@@PISStopherNolanyou are so so wrong. Look at the history, listen to Jays 2023 album, it’s clear. Jay was the creative force. This guy’s a faker.
Bull s*it fick das
@@PISStopherNolandifferences in music direction as I recall, bummer
@rtrooperw8115 definitely he has some great LPS out ! Still great, Mike less music out but like him too, got his first cd years ago
