I *had* to watch the Arrival video because it actually talked about the coolest part of one of my favorite stories. Which led me to watch another of yours. Brave of you to put yourself out there like this. Now I'm going to go through all your stuff. Really well done! Also, I'm autistic and now realize I had a lot of tics growing up. Grinding my teeth to the rhythm of the school bus wheels is probably why I don't have any now. But I can definitely get on board with all of these things being related.
thank you so much for adding captions. i cannot watch videos with excessive throat / nose sounds (and i wasnt about to figure out how excessive after that jump-cut intro, lol). this is a really interesting topic tho
That is so interesting , it was the part i abandoned in my middlschool 's oral exam( which i choose to make abt Tourette cause i have it ) cause i was afraid to say something wrong as i was finding it too delicate and complex for a 14 yrs to talk about , so thank you for that video , its allways a pleasure to see someone with Tourette doing such good stuff , keep it going .
I love seeing other people with TS on the internet :) Thanks for taking a compassionate look at TS!! This is one of the best videos explaining it that I have seen on the web!!
your videos or so well edited and researched and are just great. i always learn a lot from each of them. i hope this year more people will find and watch your channel
Tic all ya need to kid. It’s a pain in the ass. Thanks for sharing. Need to learn more about myself! ❤ I’m so hard on myself because I feel so abnormal. TS has been a battle my whole life.
Seeing your tics, now i know i have a lot more than i thought. And, yes i too know what people are saying before they get it out. I also have a broad vocabulary. I can't spell worth a damn, though. I can rip anything apart and fix it. Ive worked on everything from a light switch to a steam locomotive. I can also operate any piece of equipment effectively after only a few minutes with it, which can be helpful as a truck driver. I can also hack out a simple tune on every musical instrument I've ever touched. I was playing guitar well enough after 2 months that my best friend asked if i was sleeping with it. If i look at things as if its a machine, i can figure it out fast. Which has lead me to alienate friends and co-workers.
@@LanguageofMind No worries. I found the video very interesting and informative. You did exceptionally well. I definitely enjoyed watching, what kinds of videos do you post?
@shlubjohnson4687 I'm working on two new videos right now about the Kiki-Bouba phenomenon and about the science of creating brand names (there's more to it than I thought, to be honest!)

As a teacher teaching at a school with dozens of kids with undiagnosed learning disabilities, I just realised about five of them have Tourette’s.

I understand the struggle
This is an awesome video. The language / tool use connection is fascinating. As someone with ADHD, i can relate to a lot of what you described.

Thank you for taking the time! I know it can be hard watching people tic. Whenever I see someone tic, it makes me tic!
i was 50 yrs old when i first manifest symptoms - but my ADHD as a kid was probably a pre cursor
Its frustrating for sure
Really incredible well made video. You deserve to grow as a channel

Ah yes someone else who grinds their teeth so hard that dentists are genuinely concerned. I’ll see you on the other side man, the denture side
Thank you for helping us understand this disorder.
You are very well-spoken!
Do a video on tricotollomania.
This video was incredibly educational and entertaining. Thank you so much ❤
That was fascinating and helpful. You did a really great job too!!!!

Great stuff!
Touching things triggers my tics when i reach for the “tool” is my trigger right before i touch. Also when i pick up my fork
Really interesting!!
someone should link this to sweet anita
I never thought I have Tourette’s… and now it hit too close to home and I really wonder🤔
Bro went from tourettes to coexisting disorders associated with tourettes, to speach then straight to rocks.
@@shlubjohnson4687 Tourettes is often comorbid with ADHD, so, uh, I might need to look into this

@shlubjohnson4687 I post videos about language, cognition, and the brain!

Under your comment UA-cam is displaying the option "Translate to English" and I find that so funny.
