As a teacher teaching at a school with dozens of kids with undiagnosed learning disabilities, I just realised about five of them have Tourette’s.

I *had* to watch the Arrival video because it actually talked about the coolest part of one of my favorite stories. Which led me to watch another of yours. Brave of you to put yourself out there like this. Now I'm going to go through all your stuff. Really well done!
Also, I'm autistic and now realize I had a lot of tics growing up. Grinding my teeth to the rhythm of the school bus wheels is probably why I don't have any now. But I can definitely get on board with all of these things being related.

thank you so much for adding captions. i cannot watch videos with excessive throat / nose sounds (and i wasnt about to figure out how excessive after that jump-cut intro, lol). this is a really interesting topic tho

This is an awesome video. The language / tool use connection is fascinating. As someone with ADHD, i can relate to a lot of what you described.

That is so interesting , it was the part i abandoned in my middlschool 's oral exam( which i choose to make abt Tourette cause i have it ) cause i was afraid to say something wrong as i was finding it too delicate and complex for a 14 yrs to talk about , so thank you for that video , its allways a pleasure to see someone with Tourette doing such good stuff , keep it going .

Seeing your tics, now i know i have a lot more than i thought. And, yes i too know what people are saying before they get it out. I also have a broad vocabulary. I can't spell worth a damn, though.
I can rip anything apart and fix it. Ive worked on everything from a light switch to a steam locomotive. I can also operate any piece of equipment effectively after only a few minutes with it, which can be helpful as a truck driver. I can also hack out a simple tune on every musical instrument I've ever touched. I was playing guitar well enough after 2 months that my best friend asked if i was sleeping with it. If i look at things as if its a machine, i can figure it out fast. Which has lead me to alienate friends and co-workers.

can you pleeeeeease make a video about German spoken the wrong way round? i´m native german and its for me impossible to calculate inside my head or read numbers always first flipped around so basically my mind does this since i have leaned plus and minus in two-digit number range.... for my mind all numbers do something like that: 23-32-23-32-23-32-23-32-23-32-
23-32-23-32 (this was acually not that pleasant... xD now try to calculate:
23-32-23-32-23-32-23-32-23-32-23-32-23-32 plus 47-74-47-74-47-74-47-74-47-74-47 = ?????????? (... i guess... maybe... 3,1415926€² multiplied by the color that proofs that reality is really real minus the nonsense of life warped around infinity divided by E=Mc² finally added a Donals... think in real reality this maybe equals to: Pommes, Hamburger ans Happy Meal with plastic toy in plastic bag... may i just stop now cause i need to flush my brain down the toilet for another daily usual cleanup wellnes bathing spa... )
    🚽🧠
    🥦🐙
even if i really concentrate focused on reading out loud a number correct... it just is impossible lol... gets weirdly easier reading numbers in the Millionen range or above (no this has nothing to do with ingame money or other points of power xD)
i think 🤔 it could possibly have something to do with read spelling problems
my 3 years of 1.5 hours of extra lessons twice a week fixed that. It wasn't until a year or so ago, when I was 27, that I realized that maybe I'm not just too stupid for numbers, but that it's because they're pronounced the wrong way around here...
and no one else seems to have a problem with it.... I wish I had just learned English or Russian numbers in elementary school... instead, it wasn't until the 10th grade that I realized that math isn't the same as arithmetic. (o.o whaat - just found out you have different words.... ..... life long mind knotting problems in germany... )
and now the comment has become so long again that it will probably be overlooked... (no, that's not a repetitive thing for me at all.... xD)
to come to an end.... german numbers are threatening nightmares of unprocessable paradoxes reality warping fast rotating irrational incomprehensible... like Cthulhu or the scale of the universe oh what the size of the michstrasse... no... yes All in the size of our planet... just not seem to fit into my stupid ape brain.....
