Lara Banana I know people can be accepted into alternative modeling when they are shorter, but if you ever want to be a regular model, it would be very hard at that height. It would be like a person who is 5'3 and wanted to be a men's basketball player.

I'm a super short model and have done it full time for 5 years! If you don't try at all, industry will never change. PLUS, it's not like something you will ever regret either... trying to achieve your dreams. People can do anything. :P I hate hearing short girls can't model, especially with IG and what not - it's all possible. Fashion modeling isn't all that great anyways!

She is 5'7 and her genetics are amazing, it's not only about height, modeling isn't for everyone, having fake hopes isn't a good thing
She's short for a model but not short compared to average women. She has an amazing face too, which probably made a huge difference.

Not sure if I would make it. I'm 14 years old, 5'10 but 156 pounds, hourglass. I heard you have to weigh so much less in order to become a model, though in today's society they are wanting a lot more 'average' people to model. Not too skinny, not too chubby though now we do have many more women in the modeling industry that are plus-size which in my opinion is great :).

+invisiblegirlforever Hi there! Sorry, I just wanted to clarify what I meant with the height guidelines - this is usually what is required for fashion modelling in my experience. BUT, there are so many other types of modelling that don't have strict height guidelines (beauty, commercial, fitness, lifestyle, tv, acting etc. etc.) so please don't give up on your dreams! x

+Cupcake_kid Hi there, I've had a few people comment that they aren't tall enough. This may be true for runway/fashion, but certainly isn't true for a bunch of other areas of modelling, so please don't be put off by what I said about height guidelines as it is referring to a specific type of modelling. If this is something you want to do, find the part of the industry that suits you best and go for it girl xx

Lol I've been scouted 3 times and I'm 5'9 and 122 lbs. I think most of them were scams though.

5'10, relatively slim, I have acne, I suffer from depression and anxiety attacks and I have the face of a potato........that has been squashed. Many people compliment me on my looks, my skin tone but I am nowhere near confident, I mean I try but I really don't know. People tell me to model, I think it's cause I'm tall, not because I have a somewhat attractive face. And besides, the fashion industry is biased towards lighter complexions whereas I am of mixed ethnicity and I have a natural tan😓😓😓😓😓
Hey Cassie! I think I can't fit in. I'm slim and I look healthy but every time I search industry measurements... Well I'm not a really a tall girl but I definitely don't look petite, mostly because of my bone structure, so I'm not in troubles talking about height, in the other hand I'm a Latin girl and even if I'm a "skinny" girl with really long legs I have curves, I mean my breast measure is 33, waist 22/23 and hips 35. I don't know why I'm still into this but I guess that I'm just too curious and I'll appreciate a realistic opinion. Have a nice day.

I'm 5'7" and 1/2 , I'm kinda curvy but I work out and am a dancer. I have more of an hourglass figure, is that okay for modeling? I'm probably around 120-130 pounds give or take. I kinda really want to get into modeling, I'm just worried about my body type and I'm barely 5'7.5". I also live in kinda a small town and don't know if I'm quite ready to move to a bigger city yet. there aren't exactly any requirements.. there are different types of models and they "require" different things.
I want to become a model but I am a little chubby, 5'4, have acne and uneven skintone. I want to go excercising but my mom will think something I'm up to something suspicious. I told her I want to become a model and then she said that it's hard wok anx I need to work really hard and eat healthy food (which she doesn't always buy) so it's hard for me to imrpove my appearance because of the situation I'm in right now.

. you cannot reject the facts and say that girls from all heights can be models. in order to walk a runway you have to have a common height with the average models' heights. because NO fashion designer will tailor a dress so much for your body type unless you are an a list celebrity or their new face. sooo you should be around the same sizes with the designing mannequin, it's not about the fucked up society. its about 8 tailors working on a 70 pieced collection and tailoring and designing everything and the designers always tend to choose their models and designs after the sewing process soo it wouldnt be easy if heights were different

Hey Cassie, I'm 17 and 5'9 and 143 pounds. My mesurments are 3', 2'4", 3'1 but I eat healthy and exesize but i dont have abs. If i sumbit online, will they call me with this size but tell me later to loose weight or just ignore me. Plus, the nearest agency is 68mi 617yd from my hometown and i go to highschool. Is it possible to have time for both. please reply fast. :)
nakibiatch I'm not Cassie Obv but I have some experience in being scouted etc. The agencies that I've been scouted by (pretty legit ones like Models1, IMG, Bookings, and PRM) just go by measurements so your weight doesn't matter to legit agencies in the scouting phase. As for your measurements - height is in the safe zone (I know 174cm - 5"8.5? is IMGs min and that's like international runway, and you're over that) And if I'm reading it right you really have nothing to worry about because your waist is 24'? Anyway don't worry because they don't expect you to have perfect measurements in the first place- it doesn't take long to lose a couple inches here and there. Plus I've seen models on main boards with w26' at high end agencies. Also a lot of people don't know this but some care about thigh measurements - my thigh has been measured and I think it needs to be under 19.5' or something like that to get signed- I'm under 19' and they said it was fine so somewhere around there. But as long as your bust isn't too huge (like won't get smaller even with exercise) and you're over 174 they won't ignore your application purely based on your measurements! If they like you they're still going to ask you to come in and meet with them and for them to take their own measurements, a lot of the time if they like you but you're a bit off they may give you a period of time to get your measurements down and if you get them down in time they'll sign you. Hope this helped a bit!

I was 175cm the last time i measured and a bit slimmer now (137 lb) and lost an inch everywhere and my bust fits in the measurements and i need to slim my hips one inch and waist a few inches. I need to ask you just two things. Have you seen models with a bump on their nose. My nose is perfectly fine in front and a bit on the side as you can see on my profile picture but in the profile the bump is visible. I also have some acne just on my left cheek (about 5 to 10 small but red ones) while my whole face is clear and some on my lower back. Am i going to have problems because of those things.
+nakibiatch Thats great! you look really pretty in your picture so I don't think you have to worry about your nose! Anyway it's nice to have unique features rather than looking like a doll that everyone's seen before. As for a bit of acne - just cover it up a bit with some concealer when you take headshots to send into agencies (a bit of covering up is fine - as long as you look natural and aren't changing the shape of your face etc) I had a big red spot in between my eyebrows and some skin coloured bumps on my forehead with no makeup covering it up when I got scouted by Models1 in Topshop so it doesn't really matter - if you're a teenager you're probably going to have some spots now and again and if they like you having invited you in they might just advise you to see a dermatologist before signing you. Zaria M Thank you :D! Here scouting is very common, modeling isn't popular only for music videos maybe. I'm 17 so i'm glad its okay to have some acne someone says that you have to have perfect skin. How old are you btw and is it true that you only model till you're 21? I hope i'm not annoying i just want to speak to someone who's experienced it.

I live in London and you have to be 16 to sign usually (unless your parents are famous or special circumstances when you might sign at 14 or something instead) I'm 15 so I don't know much about working industry but know a lot about getting scouted and other things that I've been told about by agents :) not signed yet but have still been invited into agencies to be measured up and get some pictures for the file after getting scouted - but they all keep in contact and say when I'm 16 they'll do some test shoots and go from there. You're probably old enough - but ages change depending on countries' laws I think. Where are you from? If you're sure you want to do it as a career, it doesn't really matter too much about what's available in your local area because if you get signed with a big agency you'll end up moving to a big city where there's more work

I literally fit every aspect of modeling and it is a real passion of mine; it is more of an art to me than just pretty girls except I am 5'2''. I am determined to be an editorial print model and I am going to work as hard as I need for it. Lily-Rose Depp is only 5'3'' and she did it (sure her dad is famous but petite girls need to fight to make the industry more open minded.)

1)weight doesn't matter
2)you're 12 so still have time to grow, but by a rule of thumb - most 'normal' agencies (I.e. Not petite) won't be that interested until you're over 174cm unless you're special (or if you're young and close in height they might ask you to keep in contact until you're tall enough) so wait until you're14/15 and then see - normally you can't sign with them until you're 16 anyway - at least in the UK (they just invite you in for check ups and test shoots if you're 14/15 and keep watch of you until you turn 16 and then sign you)
In the meanwhile stay fit, do yoga and Pilates to help stretch muscles out, eat well and make sure you're getting all the minerals and vitamins you need (especially calcium for growth) while you're still young so that you can reach your full potential height! (I was 5"5 when I was 12 too and now I'm 15 and 5"10 so you've got plenty of time to grow so long as your parents are fairly tall)

I totally depends because you still growing. Once (if you aren't) you are mostly "developed" and you find that you are tall, naturally thin, and either pretty or very unique looking, you have a chance.
