Suzie I conquer with you 100% I am also a therapist. There is alot more to child adoption than highlighted here. Much of what is the reality in the ground is not covered here. The best way to have been done is to invite adopted kids to participate or follow up the topic by inviting the REAL beneficiaries in adoption to lay bare what they are going through. Great

I don't use to comment but today's topic, is something that many people want to do but don't know how to get to do it. Today , solutions have come to many Kenyans and non Kenyans. But the lawyer didn't explain the possibility of non Kenyan to adopt from Kenya. Please can you explain to us @Tamima

I pray to God that one day I can also adopt a child and be mother a best friend to that child am a single mother of two.

This is very educative I didn't know there are legal procedures on adoption, those mama's got big hearts may God help them to rise those kids in a good n Godly way
I had a rich uncle who adopted 2kids while they were still young( boy and a girl).These kids grew up in a very rich loving family who are as at now they are in their mid 30's both married due to some challenges that came up thereafter......when my uncle died,the wife neglected these kids and kicked them out of their home without any inheritance under their name.Now my question is, is there any law that can be applied to fight back on their behalf???

Hi, there is law. Law recognises adopted children and they have a right to inherit from their adopted parents. Our courts are clear on this position, they can get a good advocate and fight for their rights.

Hello Tamima.i really want to give my kid for Adoption..i have one seven years
old girl and i am not ready for another baby and i thought since i found out that am pregnant,its better to give the child to any woman who needs a child badly than killing the innocent being...can i get help on how someone goes about it..i will really appreciate.And thanks for always bringing topics that educate us
If you cant keep the baby its the most correct thing in The Eyes of God that you want to do. We going to adopt from Tanzania and we are from Greece!

How much is it to adopt?

Supposing the relatives of the adopted child appear at a certain stage in life and claim for their child then what happens to the adopted parents. And supposing that child decides to look for their roots. Is it allowed for them?
No,well maybe but very rare,when you go through a legal adoption process,they wait for a certain period of time before they hand the baby for adoption part of the reasons is to wait and see if there are claims from any relatives,maybe change of mind from the biological parent etc.and also theres a time frame for a biological mother to get their biological kid back after adoption,the adoptive parent can decide to take legal measures through Court process .in open adoption mostly the adoptive parent knows the roots of the kid so tracing and knowing their roots in such a situation would be much easier. For closed adoption it's already hard a task since probably the adoptive parent doesn't know the kids roots.Generally tracing the roots as an adoptive kid I guess there're no boundaries.
Adopting a next of kin maybe a tricky situation,also how did you get them?if one underwent legal court process to acquire the next of kin then the one who comes back for them will have to face the court.

Hi Tamima, Kenyan Government is very crazy. They denied me adoption 15 yrs ago. They said I have to stay with the child for a period of 1yr.I live Abroad and my life is there.I couldn't stay for one year over there because my life is not there.But it's okay for celebrities to come and get a child In 3 days.What a shame.
My friend adopted a child and sadly the US embassy has completely refused to give this child a Visa to come and stay with her...I am skeptical about adoption

Finally what I've been looking for. My mother was adopted 44 years ago and till this day, some family members refer to us as " murogoto " it's painful each day when they refer to us with such mean words. Words that pierce and rip off the heart and soul. My mother says she's okay but I see pain through her eyes every minute. The mother she's known all her life died 3 months ago and my mother cries like it was yesterday. I FEEL HER PAIN. thanks tamima for this.
