      I love this channel but there is a very German bias in the reporting. The last video you claimed Alonso got his intense playing style from Germany, when Alonso played in England for longer, where the football is more intense and traditional to their playing styles. It is like people who claim Germany invented pressing football in the 2010s, when English teams were playing this in the 1970s, even Arrigo Sacchi admits he took the high pressing style for his great Milan team from English teams. And in this video you claim Red Bull had the first multi-club system with success, when there is the City Group clubs who started earlier and had more success. There was a year where Man City club group had teams that were champions of England, USA, Australia, Japan all at the same time time and Girona are currently 2nd in La Liga. The channel needs to stop appropriating English achievements as German achievements.

    Red Bull acquired 51 % of the cycling team of German Ralph Denk, called Bora-Hansgrohe. Cycling teams work differently and sponsors buy the rights to the teams. Red Bull is one of the first high profile sponsors to enter the cycling market that is not cycling related, from the middle east, or into petrochemicals. But still, German fans don't seem to like it as they seem to think Red Bull is trying to destroy cycling.

      "One of the first"? Even if we exclude the middle east or petrochemical brands (the cycling brands are smaller than Red Bull anyway), there are still companies with higher revenue left, like Lidl or Movistar. There are only 18 WorldTeams, so the number is limited.
      Also if we speak of "One of the first" we have to include all the companies which sponsored one of the WorldTeams/ProTeams in the past: T-Mobile, Sky....

    Some "small" corrections:
    a) Salzburg is not "a small Austrian town", it's Austria's 4th biggest city with a population of over 150k
    b) SV Austria Salzburg was not "a small club", it was one of the biggest clubs in Austria
    c) 14:08 Haaland moved from Salzburg to Dortmund for 20M EUR, he moved from Dortmund to ManCity for 60M EUR two years later

      150k is really small haha anything below 500k is small. might no be a village, but still a small city. it's hard to consider any urban area with less than 1 million people 'big'. in china and india this number would probably be 5 million or something :)

      @@lazyboy300 In the grand scheme of things 150k is considered a smaller city, yes. But there is a big difference between "a small town" and 150k. For me "a small town" has a population of maybe 10-20k. There is a difference in connotation between "town" and "city". Also, first you say "city", then you say "urban area". Those are vastly different things.
      Either way, you have to consider the scope of the country when you talk about it. In the video it sounded like it's a random irrelevant town, but Salzburg is nothing of the sort.
      And even in Germany, the most populated country in Europe (yes, I am leaving Russia out of this :D), 150k would not be considered "a small town", just a normal city. Germany itself only has four cities with a population over 1M.
      Here are the official definitions of Germany (not Austria) for cities:
      * Small city: 5k to 20k population
      * Medium-sized city: 20k to 100k population
      * Large city: 100k and higher population

      @@MrReese that's so crazy to me! 5k is a small basketball arena. if you can fit an entire city in a high school gymnasium, it's not a city. it's a village. and a small one. no matter how charming or internationally known. and mega cities are places like new york, los angeles, mexico city, são paulo, tokyo, shanghai, dheli.
      small city - under 500k
      medium city - 500k to 1M
      large city - 1M too 10M
      mega city 10M +
      salzburg might be great, but 100k is a place where you know your neighbors, where you can walk from one side to the other, a place with no subway system, a place with no stadium shows by global artists, a place with no large convention centers, a place with no international airports, a place with no hq of large companies. aka: a small city

    Red Bull has changed marketing forever

  • @us11fc
    @us11fc Місяць тому +2

    The football scene is full of clubs that have built a rich history and unforgettable moments in the hearts of their fans. However, some of them have disappeared or changed significantly over the years, which brings a sense of melancholy among those who followed their rise. Two such clubs are Austria Salzburg and MetroStars, whose lost identities have left a lasting mark on the football map.
    Austria Salzburg was once a symbol of football passion in Austria. Its tradition, ambition, and devoted fans created a special spirit that was irreplaceable. When the club became Red Bull Salzburg, many felt the loss of something unique. Red Bull undeniably elevated the club to a higher level, bringing massive resources and success, but at the same time, it erased what made Austria Salzburg special - its authenticity, history, and connection to the city.
    Similarly, MetroStars was a club with a rich tradition and a strong foundation in American soccer, right up until the moment it became part of Red Bull and transformed into New York Red Bulls. While the club achieved great success in MLS under its new name, there is something indelible in the memory of MetroStars - a club that was part of the early days of American football and had its own distinct identity, before undergoing a corporate transformation.
    Though it's undeniable that Red Bull deserves praise for investing in and professionalizing these clubs, many of us who followed these teams from their beginnings feel a sense of loss due to the changes that wiped away their historical mark. The nostalgic moments tied to Austria Salzburg and MetroStars will not be forgotten, as they are part of football's past, part of the love for teams that, in some ways, have disappeared.
    Society and football have changed, and Red Bull has helped these clubs gain international recognition and success, but surely, something is missing - those classic moments, those old, "independent" teams, that were more than just commercial projects, that carried the stories of their cities and fans. While they became successful, Austria Salzburg and MetroStars will always be part of the past that carries a special nostalgic note.

      Becuase it feels like corporate takeover of football. A club should be about it’s members and it’s unique history and culture, especially in Europe where these clubs have been around for hundreds of years. RB taking the club and changing the name and structure then muscling out it’s original members and structure feels insulting to the long time fans, kinda like the MK Dons( though not that bad).

      Main problem is they can face each other in future and can be fixing easily. Suppose RB Leipzig vs RB Salzburg in Champion League final. RB Salzburg will give a trophy away easily.

    Red Bull is literally a marketing company, so nothing weird about that also you missed out completely on FC Liefering, one of the most important Teams in the football system. Research was ok, but far from good.

    RV should also buy a club in India as all their competitors are buying clubs in India like City group, athletico group and inter group too. Also this would Indian players to get on global map.

    The most unpleasant thing about the Salzburg takeover in 2005 was the restarting and rebuilding of the Austria Salzburg club. They have the worst fans and supporters, just walking past them could get you punched for no appearent reason. And these Hooligans of fans were the reason that a few years ago when Austia Salzburg hit their highest sporting point with the professional 2nd tier of club football that the club was dragged down again to the lower semi pro leagues.
    Conversly, I really enjoy it when the Fans of the bigger clubs come here to Salzburg on European Nights, Its always an experience meeting these fans.
