Amazon has plastic lids for Weck jars (at least some sizes) I use the parmesan top for a jar for a water bottle in the car. I just put the straw thru one of the holes. I have also drilled the white plastic lids for the wide mouth. Start with a starter hole before drilleing the bigger one or the plastic will crack. The white plastic lids are also sold by Ball. I have found both the white and charcoal colored Ball lids at my local hardware store and grocery stores. Great video! I have often wondered about the colorful lids - I will be buying some!

I’m so glad that i’m subscribe to you, you are so kind and very patient with us! I really enjoy your channel it’s so positive and uplifting! I can talk about canning all day too lol 😂 I never get bored with it! 😊 your dog is so cute 😍🥰 he was patiently waiting for his treat! 😁 your the first ever that I heard of wet jars! You said wet jars and I said to my self “Huh? Wet Jars! What on earth is that?! Lol 😂” today I’ve been clearing a room to make a pantry! And I hope I can at least find one self to start somewhere! And slowly build up! I can tell you that I’m super excited 😆 knowing what I’m doing for my family especially in the times were in today! Sorry for a long comment just love talking about canning stuff lol 😂 God Bless you for sharing your knowledge! 💜
I usually get a mayonnaise lid that we've washed from an empty jar. Fits great using the main size of mayo we buy. I just pulled some dill pickles we did in 2015 and they taste great! They're in the fridge with a yellow Duke's mayo lid. My parmesan cheese containers are used to sprinkle Diatomaceous Earth in the barn, LOL.
Oh, sweetie, YOU are the canning queen! We're just fumblers, LOL. I'd have to really scrub my kitchen more than I do to let it show on a video, yikes! We're canning peas today. Oh, Lordy, lotsa peas, both purple hulls and Crowders. I think today we did 21 pints and we're still picking them daily.
My working jars all say Dukes on the lids, lol. I use a permanent marker to label (and clean w alcohol before washing, because hot water seems to set the ink).
I found that the off-brand/store brand mayo lids fit better than name brands. Now you'd think they be exactly the same size but they are ever so slightly different.
I use the mayo jar lids too! Thanks for the tip about putting DE in parmesan cheese containers - I make a mess trying to spread that stuff around the barn ;)
I have been a canner for a long time. I have the 23 Qt Presto pressure canner and cooker.. And I have a big All American 921 1/2. I have my grandma's juicer canner. I use the white lids on my jars after I open them, but I never knew the Parmesan lids work too. I will have my mom save me the lid when her jar is empty. I miss canning. As I have an apartment size stove and can't use a bbq outside to can. So one day will can again. I am glad I found your You tube channel, but not from the canning but because of the accident. I am glad I heard about it, because I have kept you in my prayers as well as the kids.
Girl SHUT UP! Not the parmesan lids! Game. Changer. Video! I am SO glad I subscribed. I have these plastic lids from a coffee jar purchase that came with the same sizes as the regular mouth to use to go. I take my coffee every dern day with these lids but didn't know I SHOULD be using them for storage and gift canning. Dang I gotta branch out y'all, WOW. Thank you so much.
I've bought colored lids online through Amazon and have had no complaint about using them with canning jars for leftovers and storing dehydrated foods in my pantry. I never thought about using the lids from grated cheese containers - very clever! I appreciate sharing tips and tricks to make our lives run that much smoother. Heaven knows we have enough to contend with every day. Take care and stay safe.
I never knew about the shaker lids! That alone is a game changer for me! I messaged all my kids that I want their lids LOL Thank you you are such a blessing!
Loved this video. I just bought two boxes of the colored lids because I love the colors, lol. I died some herbs and gave each a different colored lid. Makes me happy looking at them.
I like the colored ones to differentiate different cultures. Red for starter, blue for yogurt, yellow for buttermilk, green for sauerkraut, and various for bacon grease. I just grab the one I want.
That's Awesome! Thank You so very much Heather, I Love this video. I've been using Walmart's white lids but I Love the color one's too. Thank you for sharing. 💜💜💜
Great choices to find simple lids... I buy 1 gallon and 1/2 gallon pickle jars and use the original lids and jar to ferment very thing. Why buy extra jars. Repurpose free stuff. Thanks for the tips.
😮 Well, of course! 🤦 I've sadly tossed pickle jars thinking I can't put something in that as the smell never comes out. At the same time, I've been pondering trying fermenting.
Hi Heather. It’s been a while. FYI on Amazon they also have Mason stainless steel lids. They shine like new money. Love, love, love them! It’s the bling. 😂🤣 Thank you for the video. You always make them fun!
I have 6 one liter Weck jars I found at a thrift store some years back. They came with all the seals, clips , glass tops and also 6 plastic lids that fit them! I scored! I use them to store my homemade yogurt in them. ❤️
Always really good and useful information. Tx, Heather ❤️ Amazon.com has Weck plastic lids in all three sizes - 60, 80 and 100 mm. They are really good and sturdy - try out the small ones 60 mm for your beautiful tulip jelly jars 🥰
First, yay Michigan women - my favorite homesteaders are from Michigan! I am learning a lot from you ladies. And you are especially cheerful to watch. When you smile your eyes light up. It's nice to see people being happy and satisfied even though they are talking about a life style that is really hard hard work! I live in another country but a similar life style - not everything you use (canning products) is available to me here but I make do with local products - and that is to say that people can make do without specialty and/or expensive products and equipment.
When I gift jam or jelly I add a ring so that they have a way to close the jar after they open it. I also use rings that I have hanging around to close my jars, it doesn't bother me to just pop a ring back on a jar that I haven't completely used and pop it back into the frig.
This was so helpful. I’ve used the peanut butter lids but never knew about the Parmesan Cheese lids. I love love the colored lids with the silicone gasket! I’m getting some of those if the link still works! Thank you!! ❤️
As always great video!!! A few years ago my husband wanted us to stop storing and using plastic containers for leftovers and lunches. So now when we have leftovers I put them in a wide mouth jar and use the mainstay lids. This is great because they are easy portions for my kids to take in their lunches, and as long as I is not soup or something really liquid we haven’t had many spills. It also makes my husband happy because we reheat the leftovers in the jar in the microwave.
Heather ... WECK does make lids - I have the white plastic (pop) lids and they also offer gorgeous wooden lids - I use both ... and both come in all sizes (YAY!)
I saved a larger lid from a generic peanut butter jar, that fit a wide mouth, but haven't seen that brand again. I'm always on the look out for wide mouth size plastic lids.
I’ve saved up the red parm shaker lids and also put them on the quilted jelly jars. I put labels on the fronts and turned them into spice jars. I have hints of red throughout my kitchen. I have a local honey seller that uses red plastic lids on their honey jars ..( I keep the jars to put dehydrated veggies in) .. I like the red lids in my pantry and frig to make everything look cute.~ Eva
I like the look of the black lids but only bought one box of regular and one box widemouth . I did buy the white mainstay lids first last summer. Good to know about the parm cheese lids. (Good to see you feeling better in the last video.) God Bless.
I mastered the tattler lids and a big Thankyou for teaching about them. Also ordered 100 of the tattlers and hope to use them on a regular basis from now on. 2 weeks on shipping them.
Hi there! Just wanted to let you know that Hellmans mayo container lids work as well on standard size jars. I use them all the time. Try the generic mayo lids too. They work!!
I have the mainstay ones and another version similar to the colorful ones and they work great! I love those things. I came across the colorful lids on amazon but hadn't checked them out yet, thank you for sharing :)
I miss getting my mainstay lids at Walmart with the borders 🇺🇸🇨🇦closed. I did buy the ball lids, this year and was happy to know the prices in Canada were not much different from the states. I think paid $6.50 for a 6 pkg. Great vid
At first i was thinking that pretty cool (great idea🤩) but then i got a lightbulb idea since i'm a penny pincher why buy $10 to $15 for the storage lids instead if you love mayo (1pt) they are the exact size lids as the reg ball jars nice and tight ... I love the Parm cheese lids. I have a bag full of them. Hubby threw one away one day & I made him get it out of the trash. I ordered 50 regular mouth Tattler lids today. I got an email from them & they said they were in stock but they were running about 2 weeks behind on delivery. I have never used them so I am excited to try them. Stay safe, hug the Littles. Thanks for sharing. Blessings.
There are white plastic lids on cat food treats and the same plastic jars on dehydrated vegetables that I purchased. The plastic lids are too big to fit the wide mouth canning jars. However, you can insert a metal band into the plastic lid and it fits perfectly on the canning jar.
I use a canning lid with the white mainstay type of screw on lids. It works great, they fit right inside and keeps the jars from leaking and air getting in. You just knock or shake them out when it comes to washing them.
Thanks for showing this Heather. I have some mason tops lids...the gasket is great but needs extra care when washing....will be saving the cheese lids!

I searched some more for the storage lids for the weck jars. You should try weck stay fresh on amazon. That could be the ones you might want to try. Patricia
Hi. Weckjars are from Germany and we can buy plastic soaring lids for the jars here. I found them on amazon too here in Germany. They are called Frischhaltedeckel. Mayby you can try to find those in the US too. Have a nice day. Greetings from Germany. Patricia

First, Happy Friday. I keep a box of metal Ball lids in one of my kitchen drawers along with a few bands. It works for me, but I never thought about the plastic lids for after you open the jar.
I just bought a bunch of those colorful lids from Amazon in both regular and wide-mouth sizes. I really like those rubber gaskets! Duh, I didn't think to put them in storage bags so will have to go do that now :)
Just an FYI, red peanut butter jar lids, like the ones for Jif, fit perfectly for regular mouth jars.
Amazon has plastic lids for Weck jars (at least some sizes)
