You probably might want to take a look at the "Color Toolbar" addon. This one doesn't only allow you to mess with the colors. It also provides a pattern matching engine that allows you to automatically colorize the tracks based on their names according to rules that you define.

I figured out that desaturating the colors would turn the waveforms to a light shade from the standard black. Against a dark background it looks really clean, so I figured I'd give it a whirl this way for a little while to see how I like it. So far I'm happy with the results. If you want to try it, setting the Luminance value of a color to anything less than 15% will retain the hue but darken the tracks enough to switch the waveform color.

This was actually a pretty meaningful feature for me. I set up my template with the tracks right before their respective bus, i.e. bass track - bass bus, drum tracks -drum bus, etc. This feature enabled me to make my busses a dark hue, and the respective tracks a lighter version of the bus color. This speeds up my workflow through a stronger visual cue and makes waveform editing easier, with the lighter track colors.

Here's what drives me mad about colors.... The color of the track I chose is only "that actual color" when its highlighted. As soon as I deselect a track and go to another its a darker version of itself which makes no sense.
Why not make the track selected have a thin white border around it or something so colors remain the same tone I've chosen!!!!!

I'm curious if there's a setting in Studio One that allows for a much more pronounced visual distinction when a track is selected on the timeline and corresponds to a track in the mixer and left side channel ONLY. Currently, it slightly brightens, but when dealing with numerous tracks, each with distinct colors, it's often challenging to discern which one is selected without having to click on the track in the timeline and then navigate to the mix window. I'm hopeful that there's a way to significantly enhance this visual indication or make it exceptionally clear which track is selected in the mix window. Perhaps a thicker frame outline for the active channel only?

Is there a way to have any currently selected track be one specific color, then revert back to the original color once deselected?

When I change track color it only changes the track name text box and not the complete track. I have the latest version 6 . What could be wrong?

You can do this with Navigation Essentials. Select the tracks by color and hit "Show Selected Tracks". Or create a macro if you want to do it all at once with a single shortcut...

@@studioonetutorials hi, unless I'm misunderstanding the function show selected tracks does highlight the selected tracks but what I'm asking for is to hide all the unselected tracks so that we see only the selected tracks. I guess I can create a macro to do this. Show Selected Tracks, Invert selection, Hide Selected Tracks

@@stupidusername38 No, that's not correct. Please try it out. It works exactly as I said. "Show Selected Tracks" actually means "Show ONLY Selected Tracks". It hides the unselected ones.

I am color blind, so I have always ignored advice to change colors of things. This video might have persuaded me to give it a try, because there are enough options to be able to choose something I can actually see. I doubt it would be what other people might choose, but it could perhaps be helpful

this is nice, but it is a shame that after so many iterations STUDIO ONE HAS NO FONT CUSTOMIZATION OF ANY KIND 😞 There are parts of GUI which are completely unreadable )on my 4K screeens).

Joe, you said the color you choose won't affect the sound but that's not correct...Black is the absence of color therefore if you choose Black it won't color your sound ;). When we doing a Nashville meet up?

If this happens when you recall a preset, it's most likely a plug-in that crashes, not Studio One.
