    A constructive remark to those looking at this video. For some of the driving jobs, an aluminum rod/pin turned to fit, with a pair of vise-grips, will save some of your tools, as well as the back of your hand when it gets caught between an unmovable force and an unstoppable force. When you work on jobs like this a couple basic machine tools will save a lot of time, and maybe the tips of a couple fingers. I’m glad that your concrete epoxy has worked out for you.

    Concrete epoxy is for what it says, concrete. May I suggest using metal epoxy since your machine is not made out of concrete.

    I am not 100% sure but I think Loctite makes a bearing or sleeve retention compound that is like rock crusher rated. Of course they say use it all the time cause it fills in any voids and keeps water out

    You can take that piece to a machine shop and they can bore weld and then re bore that. Or they can bore it out a little more and then turn you a new bushing for the larger hole.
    It probably should cost less than 500 for whole thing

    great video gordon..Is that a cast steel coupler or a welded up coupler.I have a 2013 e35 excavator and it has the cast coupler.,They are garbage .These are designed to not have wear out bushings.My bushings wore out and they are no replaceable, and new steel bushing cannot be welded to the cast steel.

    Does anyone know where I can buy a quick coupler like this for my 331? My operator nearly ripped the pins completely out of mine

    How well did the epoxy work? Have you thought about using jb weld? Great video!!!

      The epoxy is still holding good, JB weld is probably pretty close or the same, but it comes in small tubes and would be a disaster if you ran out before you were finished (came up short after mixing) I think the concrete epoxy is the most practical for the price and can save the left over for a long time. Thanks for watching and commenting.

    I replaced the xchange bracket which was broken on my 341; that thing was almost $1400. The boom bushings are loose in the bore I noticed when I replaced the bracket and I didn't know what to do. I'm going to heavily borrow your concrete epoxy idea. Still working okay?

      Thanks for subbing Jerry. What part of N-W Ga. I used to fuel up at Resaca Flying J or pilot or Hess, or are you closer to Atlanta?

      Gordon Robertson, the Resaca exit on I-75 is GA 136. I live on 136 about fifty minutes west of the exit on Lookout Mountain in Dade County, which is the corner county up against Tennessee and Alabama. Thank you for your interest. Jerry

    Hey man you could take that plate off and take it to a machine shop and I'm sure they could weld in new bosses for only a few hundred bucks. If this repair doesn't hold up that is. But I'm curious now how has it held up?

    • @57bagre
      @57bagre  3 роки тому +1

      Too much time and money for that old machine that doesn't get a lot of use. The repair has been forgotten about for years now, still holding up the same as when I first did it. Thanks for watching and asking. I do need to do an update on that though.
