  • Suzuki were not keen at all to take on the job of diagnosing the ticking, not only were they a bit stumped on the job but they wanted to charge me through the nose just until they found it, not including the repair. SAVE YOUR MONEY and be brave and have a look yourself, it's really not bad at all :)

      I’ve still not fixed the problem yet but I’ve done over 4000 miles since then and all is good. I will make a video soon with an in depth update

    What i cant get my head around is that i have seen tonnes of people have the exact same issue (including myself currently) and NOBODY has found a definitive answer or solution to this issue. Ive checked the shims. They were fine. A bit too tight so i changed them but they were fine. I thought it may have been the cam chain tensioner. Was absolutely fine. Taken my A/C and alternator belts off. Fine again. If you manage to find the issue, i will buy you a beer. Honestly its the bane of my life currently. Good luck

      I'm very glad to read this comment, I really don't think it's anything serious at all at this point. Hydraulic lifters do make little sounds anyway so It could be something of nothing but who knows. If I find anything I will be making a video straight away on it, it's bugging the hell out of me too. Thank you and all the best to you too

      Im having this exactly situation
      I can hear that sound everywhere now… my Swift engine have only 55 thousend km. This sound showed up last week, sound like hydraulic lifters but little bit louder. Other sound that get louder is transmission sound, but everything is really perfect with my gearshift, and my clutch is fine to. Maybe something o rotor plate axel or the bering

    Won’t the oil seep out where you can’t get those bolt on?

      Over a long period of time yeah, this is a temporary fix so I can use my car again that's all

    I found suzuki main dealer so unhelpful (Ireland) when they looked at my 32s. They just wanted a return customer for services. I have an engine light since I bought it 2 years ago from a Nissan garage in Dublin, I live in the south, and the back and forth has been awful between the main dealer and the garage I bought from. They'll only honour the warranty in a suzuki garage which is fair. Suzuki told me I need a new catalytic converter, but a local mechanic has sorted it with a lamda sensor and I might need an emulator tell the ecu the airflow is fine etc because she passed the emissions test.. It's been an ordeal

      Sounds like a nightmare! Especially trekking from the south to Dublin over and over.. Also seems like Suzuki wanted to make more of a job out of it then necessary, hard to believe the cat is knackered on a 32S at this age unless it has 250k+ miles lol. Glad you got it sorted anyway Lambda sensor issues are cropping up more frequently now especially with 31S

    Doing what you did scares the life out of me 😅was gonna ask bout the oil also. Do you think she’s coming to an end? I’m at 72thou

      Thanks mate! It scared me badly too lol, she's absolutely nowhere near the end yet this is minor compared to some other 32S I've heard over the years

    Can you explain on going up on the thicker oil?
    Mines on 52k miles had no issues apart from the gear linkage, which is how I found your channel (thankyou!)
    What oil would you recommend?

    • @wallsworkshop
      @wallsworkshop  4 місяці тому

      With the thicker oil, I should have explained my bad, is just a pre question if the sound keeps on happening that’s all, just to try and tone it down a bit. Shell helix is good (suzuki recommended) Mannol is also good that’s what I use currently. Mobil one is also a good brand to use and I’d go for 5w30, 0w20 seemed a bit thin for me

  • @gonzagnr2

    Some valve lash adjustment might be worth doing. Also disconnect the coils one by one with the engine running to rule out rod knock (if a coil is disconnected and the noise stops, you have a rod knock in that cylinder). Switching to a good 5w40 would be a good final step after those 2 have been ruled out.

    • @wallsworkshop
      @wallsworkshop  4 місяці тому +1

      I'd say definitely, I can guarantee it's not rod knock it's never been driven like that and the sound is coming from the top end. I'll defo be changing the oil to a slightly thicker grade too. It's got quieter after a clear out on the motorway

      @@wallsworkshop new spark plugs might also help
      And one more thing that happened to me in other car... check if the exhaust's manifold o2 sensor Is tightened properly, it might be a little bit loose and cause that noise... hard to believe but true.

      Hi mate, yeah I'm pretty much certain it's the valves that require an adjustment. For now it's okay but I'm going to work on getting it sorted for good
