Royal Marines Drill: Drawing the Colour

A rare view of the small ceremony conducted when the Colour is drawn for a parade from the Officers' Mess, where it is housed. In the Royal Marines it is traditional for the Drum Major to collect the colour and present it to the Colour Officer who will then carry it on parade.
The link between the Corps of Drums and the Colour stems from the battlefield where a Drummer would be placed with the Colour as a signalling and rallying point.
