You've got me thinking about a pasty, fried pickles, and a blueberry ale at the Tahquamenon Brewery.

Your videos are great! Thanks for sharing them. I live in MQT, so getting on the NCT is pretty easy. Your sections have made it easy to plan my own section hikes across the UP. Your Hayduke film is great, too!

40 years ago, I took a month off to walk and sleep in some of the places that you are exploring. I can't begin to tell you what a thrill it is to relive some of that time. I am so appreciative of the effort it took to portray this area of our country. Deeply appreciated.

Gaeill sometimes I forget about the history I'm walking through and the people who have come before me. Thanks for sharing!

I believe that sand was red and black due to its iron content. So cool to look at! I'd recommend trying to pan for gold with the black and or red sand on great lakes beaches (not that you would get more than a few flakes, but it is fun).

Watched this episode during lunch today. Great vid!! I've camped in this area, but not hiked the NCT. Looks like lots of great walking close to superior's beaches. Nice that you found the hunter's blind! Great break from the rains!!

Great videos, love them. My wife and I are thinking of doing Grand Marais to the Two-Hearted River early September since we can't get reservations in Pictured Rocks due to the way they changed the reservation system. Just curious if the trail is well marked? Thanks again for sharing this great video series. As a Yooper my wife and I enjoyed them.

Nice! That's a pretty section. The whole UP was marked surprisingly well except for the McCormick wilderness but you won't be dealing with that on that section.

I've hiked a lot of trails and I think the NCT in the U.P. ranks in my top three of all time. The Lake Superior shoreline is awesome! Three weeks ago I started out in St. Ignace with plans to hike all the way to Grand Marais. I made it to East Lake which was just a few days into my hike and I had to call it quits because of the skeeters and ticks. There was so much rain this spring that the bugs were thicker than anything I've ever seen! I'm so glad that there is no Lymes disease in the U.P. as of yet because I pulled 12 ticks off of my legs that were buried pretty deep. I'm picking up the trail where I left off in a couple of days, but this time I'm bringing some Picaridin and 100% DEET. Hopefully things have dried up a bit because I got tired of hiking through swamp. Great video and thanks for sharing!

I know what you mean, the bugs can get horrible here! I know how bad it is for you but I always carry some DEET with me too. It's the only spray that I've found that works.

I am a big fan of your videos. I think I have watched all your Hayduck series also. Thanks for the filming and the carrying of all the equipment.

thanks for watching! It's a lot of extra work sometime to film but it's also half the reason why I'm out there, I love it. I have another series for this summer planned. High routes on Montana mtn ranges.

The red on the beach is iron ore and the black is lava rock

Btw I'd camp farther away from the edge of the dune, and not just because of the storms. As you know, these dunes are eroding like mad
