You should cut your stamp tubes in half and fasten one side to the other that way you can just flip the tool instead of switching constantly to make bricks. It will make everything flow so nice during that portion
Very nice, will try one myself i think. Doubt it will look as good, but you have to start somewhere. Already built a few odd pieces of terrain here and there so now its time for something bigger. Thanks for the inspiration!
Nicely done. I was sceptical a little of how it turned out initially but the final pics look great. And the shingles have a lovely soft natural feel to them. Things I like to have on my buildings; Bottom half inch to an inch have a darker wash to them to simulate the damp at ground level that you see on rocks and buildings A lintel or arch above every opening (door, window, arch) as a structural feature. Touches of green staining around plant growth on a wall Water and black mark streaks running down the walls around key features Switching stone and wood around, so that wood is more grey, stone is more brown. Sure, stone can be any colour nearly, but I find a more subtle realistic outcome than stone = grey and wood = brown. You've done nicely there with the greying of the wood and it works really well Avoid blue. Many builders have their stonework as a bluey grey and it looks daft, especially next to rich chocolatey brown painted wood. Grass tufts grow taller in corners and around objects a lot more than in the open around buildings etc and are a good way to simulate low maintenance. Enjoying your videos, keep then going 👍🏻
@@irongryphon you're welcome, I had hoped to get more hobby stuff done but with family and other stuff going on I'm watching vids like yours, super stuff 👍🏻👍🏻
I love the fact you don't plan things I don't either, what I generally do is look at my materials and whatever is there I use. I once built a castle that went completely wrong, however it ended up looking like a perfect Vampire counts castle after I took pliers and other tools to it, and made plenty of Ivy and vines ( excellent for covering mistakes) I eventually sold it for quite a bit not bad for a total cock up!
@@irongryphon yep, I agree I'm looking forward to going back to the hobby shop again and getting back to work, unfortunately because I work for a games shop people are in and out playing games. love the simple brick 'stamp' so fast and easy. Liked the moss effect the best. Great close ups!
get yourself a long nosed gas kitchen lighter they are very cheap you can use it to melt all those annoying straggles just be careful near your foam. the are just a few quid on ebay.
Hell yeah I'm stealing this technique. I spent an hour last night drawing bricks on a 2" high wall section. This should make the next one way faster and now I'm not discouraged.
For door hinges, I bought a bunch of bowtie chandelier connectors cheap from ebay and just fold them around the door. I think I got 100 for a couple of quid. Quick and easy. The ones I got had an antique/vintage finish and I don’t even paint them.
I love the attention to detail in your builds! The wire brush does such a good job of getting that grain feel, and then the cuts with the knife really give it some life. It's also so satisfying the moment the colour gets on there! Gorgeous work! =) I'd love to try doing this but maybe make the roof able to come off and decorate the inside... -Jill

How thick are those balsa wood beams? are they 1cm (10mm) thick?
Thanks
Around 10mm yes, although depending on the size of the building you're making, you might want to make them a little thicker or thinner 🙂👍🏻
Can we use clay to make bricks for the chimney?
You could, you might find it alot heavier once assembled and harder to texture. But give it a try, see what you can create 🙂👍🏻
