This is great ! You painting skills are excellent and your descriptions are concise, accurate without a load of "faff" clogging things up. Can I suggest to you a product by Vallejo, called "Lichen and Moss". It's one of their diorama weathering effects products and comes in a small 40ml bottle. It really looks like woodland moss, and would be a perfect addition to your way stones or tree bases. It only costs between £4 - £4.50p and goes a long way. I couldn't believe the results I got with it, made the terrain look really very professional and almost shop bought. I hope this little tip helps you in some way (not that you really need any !). Great video mate, well done.
Top notch, mate. Been watching your channel from the get-go and I always like your videos. My crafting has improved as a result of your tips as well as watching you just doing it. My daughter likes to watch with me, and she's starting to craft at age 8. Keep it up. Cheers, --Bo
You do things really well. It's satisfying to see some crafter taking his time to build! Only the microphone seems a bit off, but from video to video it's get better. Sending you good vibes and congrats!
I might start experimenting with resins, the UV interests me very much, I haven't done any big jobs yet that require those bigger cans. Usually I use pound shop epoxy resin for small swamp bases, puddles, ponds scatter etc but until I can justify the expense I'll leave those cans. I might have a look at the UV though, I've not priced it up but I'm thinking it would be the better more affordable option until I'm asked to do a river or a lake or large body of water. I usually wait til I'm asked or commissioned to build something look at what crap I've got lying around then build it. I usually only buy stuff if I really, really need it and there's no cheap alternative.
I wouldn't ever use UV resin for large bodies of water, cos it's not cost effective. It's just a great material for small areas that you need to cure fast. So ideal for icicles or small puddles 👍🏻🙂
@@irongryphon that's why I like the look of it plus its quick to cure. As I say thus far no one has asked me to do a large body of water do I think UV might be the best way to go. Watching you do those Icicles also got me thinking they might make good teeth as I sculpt a lot of models and I'm not keen on using toothpicks as I don't think they look that great and you can tell they are a tooth pick.
About the UV resin? Do the icicles finish as a flexible bendy plastic or hard rigid clear/ sort of snappy once uv-cured? Will it cure without the UV lamp? Is the smallish bottle seen, expensive for volume, noting that you can bulk produce icicles like making your own tuffs? Have you also tried stretching clear plastic sprue or even normal grey sprue & painting? Thanks...General Rid Stump!!!
The UV resin has a slight flex to it when cured. It's not brittle hard. I don't know if it cures without the UV light, I expect it would cure in direct sunlight. It can be expensive for its volume but a small amount will likely to last you quite a long time. I've not tried stretching clear plastic sprue, but ill certainly give it a go 👍🏻🙂
Of all the crafters I watch only you and Tabletop Witchcraft make me uncomfortable with your attention to detail. You have a way of remembering the smaller pieces that pull something together that I'd never have remembered.

Woah, those trees look so much better after the glue/turf bath! I'll have to give that a shot with a few I got at our dollar store... Thanks! - Jill

@@irongryphon lol, yes, but your paintwork is great so you just want to enhance, not cover up. :)

I'm looking into microphones, mine is only a cheap one at the moment. Might go for a lapel clip on kind of thing 👍🏻🙂
Very Nice. I'll dig out my Cmas trees and give it a shot!
I'm definitely glad I revamped my trees, I bought them online ages ago and expected better quality 👍🏻😀

Haha uncomfortable? I'll take that as a compliment I guess 😅 I enjoy the little details, I find they add far more to the piece than you'd think
