  • Hiring an assistant is one of the best decisions I’ve ever made.
I wish I would’ve done it years earlier.
In my opinion, it’s the first hire every entrepreneur should make.
If you’re asking yourself, “Do I need an assistant?” - the answer is YES!
As a friend of mine says: “If you don’t have an assistant, you are the assistant.”
So….how do you hire an assistant?
In this video, I cover 3 things:
Do I need an assistant? -- I already told you, yes!
What does a good assistant do?
How do you find a good assistant?
One big thing to keep in mind when hiring an assistant is knowing the difference between a personal and executive assistant and figuring out which one you need.
In this video I will also be talking about:
The top 5 things you need to be outsourcing
8 tasks for your executive assistant that will immediately save you 5-10 hrs a week
I talk in another video about my hiring process which will also help you in finding and hiring the best assistant for you.
Let me know your thoughts / takeaways in the comments!
Do you have an assistant? If so, how did you hire them?

@chandler I was wondering if you had a video on how to be a time keeper using asana for a weekly meeting. We are following your template and I want to be proficient at being the time keeper

This was so insightful Chandler! I just realized that on my personal side of things I have home staff doing the laundry, groceries, cooking, cleaning & household chores. The additional thing I should start outsourcing now is booking events. But my business needs a lot of work. My assistant has only been handling emails and appointments and now after watching this video, I have 6 more things she could be doing. The value of my time concept was truly an eye-opener. Thanks :)

Absolutely a GREAT video! Especially for business assistants. I have a full page of "take-aways" from this video that I am going to use to move forward with an assistant. Thank you!!

I'm thinking about that too. I think it can be as simple as hiring someone to cut the grass and shovel the snow.

Yep! It's exactly what I needed Chandler!! I don't have an assistant...yet!! ;) Boy if I get someone to do all those things, I could write several books AND take a few vacations. One of the biggest takeaways is about valuing my time. That's pivotal for me to come up with a list of things to delegate. Thank you!!

this is great stuff thanks for the valuable content. found this because i was searching for advice on hiring one as I am in the process of interviewing and want to know what to look for. I like that you are giving them a rate to work with such as your example of $200/hr and that they are empowered to hire on your behalf to outsource below that rate as well. I am going to struggle with date night and anniversaries as I know the wife wants those to "come from the heart" and that me spending time on those things is part of the gift

Hey, thanks for your super helpful videos! Question: as an employee, how does it pay off to hire someone on my own account for e.g. cleaning my house? If my time is worth X, does it make any sense to pay out of pocket for that? (I’m not “saving money”…)

    • @ChandlerBoltOfficial
      @ChandlerBoltOfficial  2 роки тому +3

I think it definitely makes sense as long as your hourly rate is high enough and/or you can use the time you save to recharge or increase your earnings.
This is why we offer bi-weekly house cleaning as an employee benefit at my company

That's a maid man. That's not a personal assistant. Literally that 'personal assistant' job were all the jobs my boss had for his housekeeper. She did dishes, cooked, laundry, gotmthe kids to and from school, arranged for lawn care, pool cleaning, vehicle maintenance, and paying the utility bills.
