  • I decided to remodel my wife's walk in closet for her wedding gift. I was inspired by other UA-camrs such as Corey Rametta remodel and Sandra Powell closet remodel.

    Very nice....I'm getting ready to to a walk-in and looking for ideas. I think also the mirror on a hinge would have been a great way to conceal items plus have storage. I like the way you made the bottom shelf up from the floor. Very stylish! And even though the floor is laminate, I like it better than carpet! Much easier to keep clean! The crown molding on the top really makes a nice tough! Thanks!

    You did an awesome job. What is the approx. size of this room? Was any of this Ikea PAX system pieces, or your own DYI, besides the drawers are from Closet Maid? Where did you find the pull out pants rack? I was looking at the PAX system, cost approx. $900 for the pieces I looked at. But I really like what you did. Approx how much did it cost you to put this together?

    • @PaulTranDIY
      @PaulTranDIY  7 років тому +9

      No Ikea parts, Just 8 feet melamine boards 15.75 inch depth 0.75 inch thick. I got the kind that is pretty scratch resistant (I can press fairly hard with car keys or flat head and it won't scratch at all). Room is 12 feet by 10 feet roughly (the room is shaped like a pentagon). Drawers were from Closet Maid home depot. The Pants Pull out rack was from Rev-A-Shelf.
      Floors, Melamine boards, Caulking, Paint, Crown Moulding, Base Board Moulding, Glue, Screws, Acrylic, Mirror, Closet Rods and attachements on this size of a room was about $2000 dollars. (Floors was about $500 alone). Drawers are also expensive.
      It could have been less with Plywood and painting it white but I wanted to get it done ASAP so I went with the Melamine.
      IKEA Pax is actually probably the same cost or less but it will cost you extra to get a seamless look with molding and built in look. And less work and headache haha.

      Thanks Mary! I am not sure on the color name or brand, it was already painted that color when we moved in. Its a very light beige color.
