- The first feature film Beltrami scored was Scream (1996). Director Wes Craven hired Beltrami because he hadn’t worked in the genre and in that regard brought a freshness to the work. “I wasn’t consumed with the horror as much as the humanity,” Beltrami said about his approach to writing the score.
