- In an experiment to discover my most ideal sleeping system for backpacking, I wanted to test out some new gear. This vlog covers the first two nights of my hammock adventure.
And as usual, THANK YOU to my Mom for driving me to the trailhead. ❤️
3/25 - 3/26/2024, PCT mile 485.8 to 511

Miner’s lettuce. Interesting. I learn something new every day.
it's delicious! tastes a bit like spinach
Enjoying your videos, be safe out there
🙏
By now I'm really curious about how many steps you have on your pedometer after one of these days of hiking/walking/exploring. 😊Guess, I would be hungry all the time. 😅About sleeping in hammocks...well, from my experience it really takes getting used to...but after a while I found them very relaxing and cozy.
an average day on trail is usually between 20k and 30k, but may approach 40k on the longest days... the hiker hunger is real!
Impressive. 👍 Google Maps or whatever app you're using on your phone must love you. 😉 I'd love to see your traveling-timeline at the end of the year...must be thousands of miles on foot and by car. Amazing. Life on the road can be such an eye-opening experience. 😊
not sure about driving but last year alone I walked/hiked/jogged a total of over 2.5k miles!
That's soooo good. You know, Laura, I envy you a bit...but in a good way of course! 😊 I had the opportunity to "just travel" several years ago and I took it...but just for one year. Back then it was necessary because I had to sort things out and recover my true self (sounds esoteric, I know...but it wasn't that bad! 😅). And it was such a fantastic year. Saw so many interesting places, met many amazing people and even found something important inside of me. Something I didn't know I was missing until I found it. Well, anyway...finally I had to get back to "normal" and to my job but I'm ok with it. That year will forever stay with me and I'm grateful for all the magic moments and experiences. And this is one reason why I admire what you're doing and why I love your videos so much. Keep going, Laura...literally. Live this life as long as possible...it will strengthen you in many ways and every day of it is a day worth living. I know I'm repeating myself here but...well...I really mean it. 😅😉 Have fun!
