Chris and Jack Rix definetly hold it together, but the show itself is just not good anymore. The content here on UA-cam is more entertaining than the show in my personal opinion and that says a lot. Chris nails his reviews and Rix's more cooled down previews and walk-arounds are always interesting and well presented... together they make a great team of car journalism.
Chris Harris is one of the best motoring journalists working , anywhere today. He's funny, intelligent and seems to know how to keep a a car on the grey stuff.

I actually think the people in Ferrari require a racing CV and a few laps with one of their pilots on board before letting guys do these stunts.
They make sure the guy knows what he is doing before letting him trash a 1 million dollar car.

Track = no insurance, they're promo cars, not part of the lineage. Ferrari (and other supercar brands) are completely willing to write a few cars off like this. If the car's been sold already they'll rebuild it if it shunts decently enough to warrant a rebuild

Am I the only one who is admiring top gears camera work and editing?
I’ve always felt that the top gear editing and camera work was underrated and not appreciated as much as the presenting style of the ‘old boys’. After watching the grand tour, top gear’s camera work is just better and so engaging, even when the hosts themselves aren’t that appealing to me. I like Chris but really not a fan of the other two.

Agree dont really work, prefer him doing serious car reviews being himself and its was only good part of the whole show again, they should of gone back to basics with these again how Top Gear started instead of trying to copy the other legends that made it great

Kinda bs. These aren’t drift cars, I know they do the power slides for entertainment but you can’t judge a supercar or hyper car on how well it slides. Quite the opposite, the less it slides, the better it is. More grip = better lap times.
It's a great way to see where the car's limits are and how much it assists you. But I do agree with you.
Lap times? If I wanted that I'd just race a GT3 car. Lap times should never really be the main selling point of any road car.

There's just something about how this Ferrari looks and I can't pin point it but I really don't like it. Nothing against the engineering just pure looks.

Honestly it’s more like “automatic” trying to hard to mimic the golden decennia with the Orangutan, Hamster and Captain slow.
Lol but so true, they need to go back to basics and how the show started out reviewing cars, normal, super and hypers, but just serious reviews till they think up some decent content and 3 great presenters, bit of a kick in the teeth for the past legends moving it to BBC1 now when its so poor, guess its to try and get the viewing figures up tho

I appreciate that Ferrari keeps bringing out impressive new cars, but they’re starting to become a little function over form to me. This is more of a spaceship than a beautiful design. Personally been missing that in Ferrari for awhile
The lack of the v12, the ugly 488 tub design, the square rear end and ugly headlights, the ugly instrument display with the digital dash (worst thing in a Ferrari, glad porsche is still using an analog rev counter), kill this car. The laferrari, 458, f12 days are gone
@@lexuslfa4739 Yeah, I know that lap times are important, but before technology was king, Ferrari was putting out cars that were also beautiful to look at. Maybe I'm partial because of when I grew up, but the days of the F355, 550 Maranello, and F50 (I know opinions on the F50 are varied) yielded some of the best looking Ferraris to me.
Totally agree with this, they look like cars designed by computers. The V8 cars especially their designs have nothing on the 355, 360, f430, those cars had me in awe as a kid.
That’s what the Roma is for it’s a throwback to the more simple/elegant classic ferraris😁 also the new f8 looks really sexy too

This cars back looks so good to me but the front looks so ugly specially the headlights(personal opinion)

Last year I had a test-drive with a McLaren 570s and Audi R8...
Both cars are very fast but I missed the emotions and rawness. This experience changed my perspective about this hi-tech cars.

I honestly hate the C8 so much, personally and that is my opinion! From the visuals standpoint I should add! ...there is something very wrong when the first thing my brain wanted to process when I saw with my peripherals the few C8s I have seen so far is, a Ferrari!

This new ferrari may have been designed first but the front looks like they took a step toward a futuristic front that was drawn 10 years ago, something honda about it.
And then you have the ferrari roma that is objectively stunning but looks like an Aston Martin
Then you have the Aston designer making a standard Ford car looking like astons.

This episode was an absolute joke, you had the three presenters driving around a boring town in England, literally anyone and their dog could and does do that on UA-cam everyday and film it on their mobile not via a massive production crew that costs £200-£300k to film!. Absolutely appauling episode what a terrible way to start a new series I feel sorry for the presenters that have been put in that position!. It was before lockdown and any restrictions so you could have literally have done anything in the UK but you had them literally driving around an industrial estate and you at the BBC wonder why the BBC is dying!!!.

@@PhilbyFavourites hey, I just found it bizzare I mean I've got used to a bit of a crap episode mid season but to open the series with that was just dreadful. It did unfortunately start to feel as if the BBC's political views had been forced into this episode at the cost of an entertaining episode. It was more like one of those this is the family tree/ family history of paddy maguines rather than too gear!. I am pretty certain this series has probably lost at least hundreds of thousands of viewers for the rest of the season because it was just dull and boring!!. I can imagine hundreds of thousands switched off within then minutes when the were driving around that industrial estate!!.
At least we could see the sf90 smacking the powerlap record....
