Hi Mark! Your story evokes this frustrating feeling when one understands that it is only their fault and silly actions. Once long time ago I left my credit card in the atm. I had to get my card blocked and wait for the other to be issued for a month. 😢
Hey Mark, your story makes me recall my frustrating one that happened about 7 or 8 years ago in YVR when I was in a hurry to catch a plane in the aisle, suddenly there was a wallet at my feet, and the money, maybe about 1000dollars in it was exposed. I looked around the surroundings for a minute and thought my plane would take off soon. Then, I made a dumb decision and I will never "forgive" myself since then. I picked the wallet up after one minute, nobody to be back to recognize, At that moment, I observed an airport staff with a uniform near me, I gave it to her and rushed to the plane. OMG, I didn't leave that staff's phone number, I didn't identify her title, and her position didn't qualify her either. I felt so sorry for the person who lost the wallet, I did the wrong thing. I didn't realize why I was so silly at that moment I was not used to being because of that kind of thing I had never ever done before. I only wish that the staff working at YVR is a warm-hearted person and hopefully, the person finally gets the wallet back from her hand.

I lost 10$ once ....the same way....I withdrew 50reais at the ATM .....and when I realized that I didn't had grab the money and went back to try to take the money....there wasn't no more money at the ATM....🤷

All this was in abroad.
I needed to call my bank and cancel the credit card.

I can reassure you that you are not the only one beacause I m myself forgot to withdraw 200$ from the ATM but fortunately my mother was with me that day and pointed out to me that day 🙄
For those cases they put surveillance cameras in ATM machine
Something much worse happened to me 3 years ago. I forgot my bank card in the supermarket machine and took the food and went. The next day he called the bank and told me that the card was in the supermarket and it is now closed. You must come personally to the bank to do it and verify the information.I was really stupid to make such a big mistake

I got scatterbrained absolutely and the worst is that it was our first time to come here in Canada. I left all our documents in the washroom at Toronto International Airport and that was before we go to the Immigration Officer 😅 luckily i was able to remember where i left it..

I'd say this situation is quite common and happens everywhere on the globe. It might be unfamiliar to an individual person, but bank employees must be aware of how to solve that. Whenever you forgot to take your cash out of an ATM, there are two options here: either this ATM grabs back the banknotes after some period of time or someone else who was probably next in line after you, could seize your money. The first situation can be resolved by bank employees after the ATM collection is performed. The other is more tricky one since it's a felony and probably you have to deal with the police, but there must be CCTV cams around the ATMs area and in ATM itself that record the surroundings and could help identify a thief.

I would share my bitter experience with froud if it hadn't been so personal. I call it the purchased experience that will be remembered forever. I hate to be in debt and thank goodness I'm not. There are many more valuable losses than money, right? My maternal great grandmother always said: I would earn hard but I would eat sweetly and it's one of my principles in life. Thank you for your story! I am always exhiting listen to you! I have a simiral situation in the store. Not long ago I went to my local Amazon Fresh just for buy couple of things. I usually get the same parking place or near. I bought my purchase and went down to parking (underground P2) lot and found no my car. I looked here and there and around but could not find my car. After maybe 15 minutes I went up to the store and went to sequrity guy to tell her that my car is stolen from the parking lot. While I am talking to her I see my car through the window of the store is parked outside in the street...😂 I just forgot that I parked on the street that time. Happy end 😂

@@MadEnglishTV By the way Mark, here in China, ATM's works differently. First, it hands you the cash, then you hit finish, or if you don't press, ATM will pop the card out, if you don't take the card machine will take it in a few miniute, if a scammer continues to withdraw the money from your card, there is camera tracking, so it will be totally safe if you forget the card😀. In Canada, it's the opposite - first, you get your card, then money pops out. So yeah, either way, there's room for mix-ups. You might end up leaving without your card or your cash if you're not paying attention.

Always remember that talking non stop is one of the easiest jobs but listening to it ISN'T. Feel the difference. I always wondered, why don't u get more than 8,000 views. Well, here is the answer. I mean who got 38 minutes in today's fast-paced world. Some people would say, well, don't watch it. Of course, I am not going to waste my time on this exaggerated stuff and you need to be smart with your time too.
First of all this is one of the best channels for not only learning English but also you can learn so much more about anything, and you don’t waste your time by watching his videos because it’s so useful and fun and if you don’t find it interesting it’s your opinion , talking about real life issues and anything is so helpful to listen and learn it , if you ask me, watching Netflix or anything like that is a waste of time, 😊
If you don't like long videos, don't watch my Christmas sermon 😂
