Hey Mark, your story makes me recall my frustrating one that happened about 7 or 8 years ago in YVR when I was in a hurry to catch a plane in the aisle, suddenly there was a wallet at my feet, and the money, maybe about 1000dollars in it was exposed. I looked around the surroundings for a minute and thought my plane would take off soon. Then, I made a dumb decision and I will never "forgive" myself since then. I picked the wallet up after one minute, nobody to be back to recognize, At that moment, I observed an airport staff with a uniform near me, I gave it to her and rushed to the plane. OMG, I didn't leave that staff's phone number, I didn't identify her title, and her position didn't qualify her either. I felt so sorry for the person who lost the wallet, I did the wrong thing. I didn't realize why I was so silly at that moment I was not used to being because of that kind of thing I had never ever done before. I only wish that the staff working at YVR is a warm-hearted person and hopefully, the person finally gets the wallet back from her hand.

I got scatterbrained absolutely and the worst is that it was our first time to come here in Canada. I left all our documents in the washroom at Toronto International Airport and that was before we go to the Immigration Officer 😅 luckily i was able to remember where i left it..
I'd say this situation is quite common and happens everywhere on the globe. It might be unfamiliar to an individual person, but bank employees must be aware of how to solve that. Whenever you forgot to take your cash out of an ATM, there are two options here: either this ATM grabs back the banknotes after some period of time or someone else who was probably next in line after you, could seize your money. The first situation can be resolved by bank employees after the ATM collection is performed. The other is more tricky one since it's a felony and probably you have to deal with the police, but there must be CCTV cams around the ATMs area and in ATM itself that record the surroundings and could help identify a thief.
God is good - He protected your wealth. Learn from this and move on. Don't be too hard on yourself. Everyone makes dumb mistakes. TQ for sharing this experience. 🙂

There was not my mistake, just at the moment when I choose a sum of money that needs to be withdrawn, happened a lost of connection the internet, but money has already written off from my account and the command to the ATM to issue cash did not go through. So that I had a long history to return my money, which happened successfully for me. And then I breathe a sigh of relief. Very interesting story, thanks you told it.

There are many more valuable losses than money, right? My maternal great grandmother always said: I would earn hard but I would eat sweetly and it's one of my principles in life. I usually get the same parking place or near. I bought my purchase and went down to parking (underground P2) lot and found no my car. I looked here and there and around but could not find my car. After maybe 15 minutes I went up to the store and went to sequrity guy to tell her that my car is stolen from the parking lot. While I am talking to her I see my car through the window of the store is parked outside in the street...😂 I just forgot that I parked on the street that time. Happy end 😂

Something much worse happened to me 3 years ago. I forgot my bank card in the supermarket machine and took the food and went. The next day he called the bank and told me that the card was in the supermarket and it is now closed. First, it hands you the cash, then you hit finish, or if you don't press, ATM will pop the card out, if you don't take the card machine will take it in a few miniute, if a scammer continues to withdraw the money from your card, there is camera tracking, so it will be totally safe if you forget the card😀. In Canada, it's the opposite - first, you get your card, then money pops out. So yeah, either way, there's room for mix-ups. You might end up leaving without your card or your cash if you're not paying attention.
