Noticed the live chat was talking about the ages of the 8 travelers. From an article I saw when the game first came out, I think the ages of the characters from youngest to oldest are: Tressa - 18 Ophilia - 20 Alfyn - 21 Therion - 22 Primrose - 23 H’aanit - 26 Cyrus - 30 Olberic - 35
So glad you got to Ophelia's Theme early because of how great the soundtrack handles key changes! Those few chords before and during the key change in that theme are just heart and ear melting
PLEASE keep going. You've spent 2 hours on this soundtrack, but have only hit ONE of, in my opinion, the three true standouts of this OST ("The Frostlands", "My Quiet Forest Home", "Decisive Battle 1"), which if you ask me are among the best video-game pieces of all time. The whole Octopath 1 OST is amazing, the first one I've ever heard which surpasses Chrono Trigger. PLEASE continue. You won't regret it.
This and Octopath 2 would be in my top 3 game OSTs of all time. Both are truly majestic and perfectly represents the game as a whole. Hopefully you check out the break and boost tracks along with Octopath 2 sometime.
I don't know any person who played this game that hasn't fallen in love with its OST. Such a good quality that describe by the music landscape, emotions, personnality.... You can see (ear), specially in this video, that each "lands music" directly reflect to each character theme. The construction behind this ost is very well thought. It gives more soul to the story of the game and make you love even more each character. Thanks for the review it's very interesting.
