Bought a 2023 1100 DCT, love it! I am 66 and previous HD owner. Great bike for us older riders who do not need a status symbol, just a great affordable easy to ride bike.

I bought a '23 1100T bagger and I LOVE IT! It does what I want to do with no problem, but for me it was the DCT that sold me. I don't mind a clutch, but it's just one less thing to think about and really lets me just enjoy the ride. I'm probably not a traditionalist when it comes to my bike of choice, but I'm not in it for acceptance. I'm in it for me!
Ride your ride and don’t worry about what others think! For me it’s great to not have to worry about friction zones, shift timing etc.. I just roll and go, quickly!!! Sure, I modified or personalized the bike a little just to make it my own, but this bike is not to be underestimated by any means! There’s a beast inside of this thing once you turn it loose!!! Enjoy your bike, it’s built to last. 👍
I do admit I think the factory luggage is a great idea. I always think that an absence of storage space is a severe limitation on a motorcycle. A dealer near me had an older example of the Triumph 660 adventure, with factory luggage, on sale this summer for a couple of grand off the base model MSRP and I was sorely tempted. It would be nice to be able to run errands on the motorcycle. One concern with the DCT might be that they are expensive to service, if anything goes wrong.
@@peterwilson8039 In the unlikely event that something should go wrong with the DCT, it will be well worth the cost for repairs! The Honda Rebel 1100 DCT owners that I know ( and I know plenty) have had little to no issues with major repairs, only routine maintenance is needed. Honda has been perfecting the DCT for years now, this is not a new science for them! Personally, I trust Honda’s reliability! I have friends who own Harley’s and Indians and they are constantly taking their bikes to the shop because something or other has broken. I prefer giving credit where credit is due rather than running a smear campaign on a bike that I never owned. For those who just don’t like the looks of the bike, so be it. You’ll never know one until you’ve tried one. 👍
@@peterwilson8039 Rest assured, I strongly doubt that anything major will go wrong with the DCT. These bikes are built to last and last. It’s amazing to me that the price for the 2024 year model has only increased by a few hundred bucks! When you’re talking about more bang for the buck, Honda nailed it with this bike, and other manufacturers can’t compete with it except for the aesthetics. If a person wants looks, go for the Indian bobber etc and pay more for less features than the Rebel. I’ll take outstanding quality and functionality for less money, over looks, less reliability and bravado any day! But that’s just me. 👍
You forgot to mention one thing the Rebel 1100 offers that none of the other brands offer. That is, you can get it with an automatic transmission. Honda's dual clutch transmission that can be driven in full auto mode or can be manually shifted with padal/button shifters, like some sports cars.
I've had it since May 2022 and put on about 15,000 miles. I absolutely love this bike. It has a gorgeous look, it's reliable and has enough power to be super fun.
I started riding this September on a 1100 standard and I have put on over 2k miles on it. Being my first bike ever I could not imagine doing it on any other bike, everything has been so easy and so intuitive. 10/10 would recommend.
I’ve had my rebel 1100 for a year, BEST BIKE EVER! Rented a triumph bobber and Indian Scout bobber. Spent a few days on both bikes, both great bikes! I’ll take the rebel every day! Not to mention I got an extra 3000 bucks in my pocket with more options!
Let me start by saying that my opinion probably doesn’t hold much merit, but I’ll give you my thoughts as an owner. I bought a 2021 Rebel 1100 manual as my first bike in January of 2022. Since then I’ve road it, mostly to work, for around 8000 miles. Let me just tell you this, it’s a bike for sure. It’s not some Uber fancy, super fast, drop dead sexy bike, it’s just a bike. I originally planned on buying a Rebel 500 until I found the 1100 at my local Honda dealer. I really love the bike, but I’m biased because I have no experience on any other bike at all. I definitely love the creature comforts like cruise control and ABS which adds to the price tag, but as Yammie said, it’s definitely priced a lot better compared to other bikes in its category. Let me also be the first to tell you that the seat is absolutely atrocious. I have a 1 hour commute each way and by the 45 minute mark my back is screaming for relief. Again, this is the only bike I’ve ridden so it may just be a bike thing. Overall I’d say it’s definitely a great purchase IF it’s what you want out of a bike. I highly recommend getting an aftermarket seat and a windshield for it though that’s for sure.
I love mine! Gas tank could stand to be bigger but the bike handles really easily. I didn’t realize how much I would appreciate the cruise control until I rode it from Dallas to San Antonio. I replaced the bazooka stock exhaust with a Coffman exhaust, got the headlight cowl, brown diamond stitched seat, and tank grips just the make it my own. Solid bike 👍
Laughing at the "bazooka stock exhaust" because you're not wrong! That thing is massive! I'm getting an 1100 soon and also have my eye on the Coffman thunder exhaust.
I have a 2023 rebel 1100 with the dct. I use it mostly for my work commute. I think it is a great bike for the money. Can’t beat the Honda reliability. Great video on the rebels.
100% agree the indian scout is worth twice as much as the rebel, However being that it is only £3000 more, it is a bargain, get the scout every time! reviewed both and the scout wins every time
Not trying to take a dump on your bike or comment, but all brands are reliable these days. Honestly I am not convinced Honda is any better and some of their recent designs for air filters and spark plug changes means the maintenance is harder than other brands. Even my 2 chinese bikes have never had a problem. It's all about reputation, and even if it isn't really true Honda can charge more for that reputation. Sorry, rant over! lol

@@miltonmartinez6698 I've had the exact same number of issues from bikes from all different countries. Honestly, I don't really rate any particular brand or country as being any better than the other. I've only had 2 Italian scooters, and both were very reliable (crap plastic though, rattled to bits). I should note that I've had 3 CFmotos and they're generally regarded as good bikes, great reliability on all of them. I'm sure cheap Chinese pit bikes and dirt bikes are trash however. Build quality and refinement isn't as good as my Hondas but they always start and go with no issues (Hondas have been great too)

My point still stands however, all the known brands from all countries are very good. Funnily enough the bike I know which has been very unreliable is my Step Father's VFR1200, a Honda. Seems to break down every 6 months
Got my Rebel 1100 (manual) last year as my first bike and I absolutely love it. I took it like a duck to water. It was accessible and comfortable for a first bike, but it's still had loads of room to grow into. First thing I did was change the god awful stock exhaust for a coffman's Thunder, and I loved it even more! The growl is definitely mean.
@@MilkManCaravan It definitely has some oomph to it, but if you run it in Rain mode for the first while, the throttle will respond much more like a 500. Once you put it in sport mode, prepare for some punch!
My first street bike was a Rebel. Thru the ages of 14 - 16 I put 18k+ miles on that bike. It never failed me. Super dependable and agile for what it was. Of course as I got older it was time for something bigger, like a car, for the women I had begun to be enamored with. Fast forward 36 years, I've raised my kids and got them off into the world as adults themselves. I began enjoying hobbies again. When I saw the Rebel 500 for the first time, I thought it was a fantastic makeover. But I knew it wasn't enough bike. When I learned the 1100 was a thing, I had to go check it out. I was really impressed as I looked back decades ago at what it used to be. 6 months ago, I received one as a 50th birthday present. I felt like a teenager again. No its not a Harley or a Scout. But what it is, is a reflection of what I was and what I now am. I love the bike, its that simple.

After a few years off, I wanted to get back on a small motorcycle mainly to use around Houston where I live. My first bike was a 1985 Honda Rebel and I always loved that bike. So, that was my first choice. But, for me, the new Rebel style was very uncomfortable to sit on and ride. Plus, I really didn't like the new look at all. It was obvious that this style was targeting the younger crowd. After always buying Hondas, this time I ended buying a Royal Enfield Meteor 350. I totally love this bike.
Ive had my rebel 1100 (standard) for two years now and I have zero complaints. The 1100 is the best bang for the buck in my opinion. Also, there are more and more aftermarket accessories out of it as well, which makes customization easier on the wallet. I may get another bike eventually, but I won't get rid of the Rebel.
I would never own a MC made by Polaris. Like the Victory that went out of business ya never know when polaris will shit can the brand and screw all the owners of the brand. I don't have an ego and I own a 2023 Rebel 500. Starts every time , dependable, good on gas and goes as fast as I will ever want to go. Enough said. Great vid there Yammy !r
I rode several bikes while looking for a new one. I was super pleased with the Rebel. Originally I rode a DCT and eventually bought a manual. Both are excellent machines. Honda hit a home run when they made the 1100 Rebel.
Already own the ‘22 Honda Rebel 1100 DCT and I am hooked on this bike!! Swapped out the muffler, seat and foot pegs. The Memphis Shades Batwing really makes it stand out and keeps the wind at bay! Hooked!!! Awesome video! 👍

my first bike is the 2021 rebel 1100. its vin number is 250, was one of the first in the US to own it. love the bike. still riding it, not as much, but it goes good. not a single issue with it
bought Rebel 1100 in 2023 in manual version. very much better than the 500, worth every cent. good handling and easy to handle, in sport mode, it is fast , like sport bike
The 1100 is not a cruiser. It’s a sport bike in a cruiser skin. The scout bobber looks better, but it’s only good for city riding and going straight. I rode both and you’re not gonna want to go around a curve at 90mph on a scout bobber. My Rebel is limited to 100mph, but I can get there from a stop within two city blocks. The 1100 is just more fun. I’ve been told I ride too fast, but that’s what my 1100 wants to do. It’s not a putt around bike and it doesn’t like to do that. I have about 16k miles on my 1100 and I can’t stop riding that thing.
I didn’t particularly like the look of the Rebel 1100. But I fixed that easily with some fairings, after market mirrors, and slip on. Even with all the mods I did to it…still cost less than any of the other options and it has all the wizbangs you could ever need. I love my 1100….now I just need to upgrade my suspension.
@@forblocking9484 I don’t have the dual clutch(automatic) version. Regardless of that…yes it will handle those roads. It has over 80HP and uses the workhorse adventure engine the Africa Twin.
What made me not get the Rebel 1100 is because of what it is, this being a Parallel-Twin. I have a Shadow 1100 which has a V-Twin, which has a unique and in my opinion a "Proper Cruiser" personality, if in your eyes a Cruiser is a V-Twin or nothing. In the end, it's preference. Any Honda is a great choice.
I’ve got the 500 after watching you compare beginner bikes for MONTHS. I love mine. I just wanna upgrade to the 1100 asap. I need to be on the interstate
I bought an 1100, put 3k miles on it, traded it in for an adv bike. The rebel does everything right, minus some very minor, and not so minor things. The stock suspension is not good for anybody over 150lbs, it will need upgraded, I'm only at 180. It does not have a steering stabilizer, and it is verrrrry very light, which at highway speeds it tended to have a lot of head shake and instability... Especially when you hit bumps. Other than that, it really just felt like a sport bike with cruiser ergonomics, the motor is out of the CRF1100X, which is the Honda Africa twin, and it definitely feels like a dirtbike motor, revs high, revs quick, great power, but it lacked low speed rideability, talking 10-20mph, not 0-5. What I'm getting at is your riding experience will vary greatly depending on what state or part of the country you're in. It does not work well for the American midwest, where highways and straight lines are the norm.
I did a tour on my Rebel 1100 DCT 2500 miles and 1900 of that was with over 50kgs of camping gear on the back, it never missed a beat and even single track roads were no problem in Scotland so who needs an Adventure bike costing twice as much if you never actually go off road and only use it for touring and it is much more comfortable.
Yep belong to the nerd group, I put 10,000 miles on mine over the last couple of years, love hate the DCT. In city traffic it's a no brainer . Twisties not so much. Bought this year a BMW GS1250 , two very different bikes. I will keep both. Y😮es the GS is more refined but cost as much as 2.5 Rebels. Yet I still love ithe Rebel and will continue riding it . Two bikes two different purposes.
That's what I'm saying! I have a '14 Shadow Spirit and really enjoy it. Simple, smooth, no muss no fuss attitude. Yamm should do a Shadow video considering he's said many times the Shadow holds a special place in his heart. Especially now that the Shadow Phantom FINAAAALLLLY got some modern updates.
Had a Rebel 1100 for about a year. It was fun but one of the most uncomfortable bike I have owned in 30 years of riding. Bad ergonomic I tried hard to make it was it is not. So I sold the Rebel and got a new Goldwing. Loving life. If you just want to cruise in town to go get milk and eggs then it’s ok.
Im a fairly new rider of 2 years and bought my 1100t a year ago and love it. I did th3 comparisons with the scout and the sportster and for them all very similar in every category except price.
i ride the 2019 rebel 500. i came back from Tampa on I 75 to Ocala, doing 77 mph for 2 hours. no problem(except a 12mph head wind) i have been looking at the scout, great looking bike, 100 hp. low low profile, 6 speed liquid cooled, 14K. the rebel 1100 for 10K. and i love the looks of the rebel style. good video on the rebel line. i honestly have to say, the rebel 1100 will be my next bike. the manual, NOT the dct.
I put about 9,000 mi on my bike since May of 2023. I would not trade it for any of my friends Indians or Harleys. I have the 1100T. It's quick responsive The only thing I've done to it is a 4-in riser and heated grips and it's a beauty much better than any Harley comparable Harley
Started on Suzuki GSX-S750z and still have and love it. Second bike was 2022 Honda Rebel 1100 DCT I still ride and love them both, but I had to get a kit to reposition the foot pegs on the Rebel, which is not initially suitable for taller or longer-legged riders It's a close call between the two, but now that I have the forward controls kit by DePretto Moto installed, the Rebel is a little more appealing The ability to shift with button presses or let the computer handle shifting for you is super convenient and allows you to squeeze all the power out of the 1100 while eliminating any delay from human error during shifting The S750z can still do a thing or two that the Rebel can't, like exceed 100mph and remain stable and safe at that speed. It also has better overall maneuverability, though the Rebel is no slouch for a cruiser.
Congratulations on doing a review without comparing the subject bikes to a high-end, dedicated, track/moto GP bike. I didn't know you had it in you. The underlying smirk was still there, of course, but only barely noticeable this time.
The thing with the Rebel 250, or my vstar 250, is that they look much better and are much more aesthetic to me than larger motorcycle. I love the very lean side profile of both motorcycles (specially the vstar 250). Also, I hate the look of digital velocimeters. I love my vstart 250 analogic one. The digital one looks like a massive repurposed Casio clock.
Just traded in an HD Sportster for a Rebel 1100 DCT touring for my wife. The sportster hurt her wrists & was too heavy for her. I love HD, but the Rebel 1100 is way easier to handle & a blast to ride. Honda absolutely nailed it with the Rebel 1100 DCT…it sets a new standard within light cruisers. Or, go buy an HD Nightster/Sportster or Indian Scout if you wanna a crappier bike that costs a lot more.
No...I had the dreaded Sony Dream machine ICF-C2W with the "If I don't find my alarm clock within the next second I'll blow my noodle all over the wall" chirping alarm. It was so annoying to wake up to you always placed it right next to your pillow so you can turn it off within 1 chirp.
I did a lot of soul searching when looking at that bike. In Australia the Indian Scout comes with ABS but that is the entire tech factor where the Honda Rebel has traction control and ride modes. The Rebel came in at $19,000 AUD while the scout came in at $21,000 AUD The thing is that I wanted an American cruiser, not a replica of one. The Rebel is a great bike by all accounts. Harley announced the Sportster S which came in at $26,500 AUD two days before I was going to put a deposit on the Honda. The ride package on the Sportster S and the engine power increase would likely put the Rebel at about $24,000 AUD at the time with identical features so it was only a 10% difference in price overall. 10% more for what you want is not a lot on a bike if you plan to ride it. Great bike but not what I wanted, close though.
The Rebel really isn't a replica of an American cruiser, the styling doesn't scream Yank to me in the slightest. It's more Diavel or GSXR than Harley imo
Yeah.....I'd take the Scout over the 1100 even though it's about $3K more. I don't think anyone can disagree with you that the Rebel is clearly the best VALUE of the bikes, but I can't see myself looking back at the Rebel and saying "Damn, that is an awesome bike!"
Yeah I think the Rebel 1100 is the middleweight cruiser version of the Ninja 400 or CBR500R. Much more capable than most beginner bikes of old, but still very manageable by a beginner rider and probably an ideal starting point for a lot of people. I think the Scout appeals more to riders with more experience who know exactly what they want and the Scout checks all the boxes. The Rebel 1100 isn’t necessarily a bona fide beginner bike and could very be enjoyed by anyone, but again, like the Ninja 400 and CBR500R, I think it finds a solid medium between beginner and intermediate but doesn’t box you into either class. And I think the 1100 is probably one of the best bang for your buck in Honda’s lineup, and certainly out of the Rebel lineup, which has been my chief complaint with the 500. It just isn’t the best bang for your buck, it’s got a hefty price tag for what it is and I think the 1100 solves a lot of the 500’s problems with a very modest price tag.
This might just be the bike for me. I wanted an mt-09 but I'm a 5'2 guy with an inseam of 27 inches so I can't flat foot it. So I guess God just really wanted me to be a cruiser brother.
I think all of the Bikes mentioned are good. The good thing here is there are several choices of Motorcycles that you can purchase and dress it out the way you want it. Everyone has different preferences, styles including their physical stature where one one Bike may be at a much better riding position. I like them all and don’t think there is one winner. I do know that Honda has a proven record that they make a solid product whether it’s a car, motorcycle, weed eater or lawnmower. It’s all about the journey and what you like.
I starting riding this may on a HD street 500, and about two weeks ago I got the rebel 1100. The seating and posture at first felt less comfortable for me (I'm 5'7) but after some time I got used to it. I do love the power from the rebel 1100 but I don't have enough experience with other bikes to compare it.
5'7 guy here, currently on a Suzuki GSX- 8s as my first bike, how's the ride on the Rebel 1100? Can you flat foot both feet? Haven't got my first bike paid for yet but I'm already looking at my next one😂
@@SouthernStyle08714 I have a 30 in inseam and I can easily flat foot the rebel 1100. The ride is pretty smooth but I think the throttle can be jerky compared to my last bike but that was considerably weaker. My throttle hand has improved on this bike a lot and it’s a lot better once used to it though.

I debated on getting a cruiser style bike or a street bike then I found the street naked category and a bike that I liked and called my local dealership luckily they had one in house so I went to check it out and fell in love almost instantly but was still afraid to pull the trigger on it. After two or three days of thinking about it I finally did it and I'm glad I did I've had so much fun on my bike. Been riding since September and I ride every chance I get when it's not raining or below 50°F outside (I live in the south eastern part of the US).
I have the DCT Touring version. Absolutely brilliant ride. I have had a number of BMWs and I must admit the Rebel is no comparison in terms of BMW's technology etc. But the Rebel is very agile and I love the DCT.
Love my rebel 1100. The handling and acceleration are great, making it a practical choice for my commute in the city, but it's also got enough power to feel comfortable on the highway. I had to add some quality of life mods since at 6'2" the bike isn't the most comfortable off the lot for me, but everything was pretty easy to do
Well I put a deposit on a RE Super Meteor 650 here in San Diego on the 4th of Nov after riding one. God willing should arrive late Dec or early January.. The Astral Green one. 😎
Why dosent they add Start/Stop bumdled in the DCT option? Engine from Africa Twin, cruise control from Gold Wing, and finaly Start-Stop from PCX... so obvious in my mind. If the gears go automatic you should have the option to shut off the bike while in traffic. Tell me yours opinion
How does the 1100 stand above the sportster s? It certainly does not when it comes to power and torque. The sportster S makes more torque than the rebel does horsepower.
1) Speed Twin 1200, 2) Indian Scout, 3) Harley Sportster, 4) Honda Rebel The Rebel may be the "best" bang-for-the-buck but it is butt ugly. The only other bike left out of this comparison is the Moto Guzzi V7 and V9. The V7 850 (Corsa) would be in the top three on my list.
If Honda had put just a little more effort into the Rebel's styling, it'd be an even better deal. I'd still prefer a v-twin for this sort of bike, but if it has to be a parallel twin, why not make it look a bit more interesting? The engine is the star of the show in a cruiser and that goes for its looks/presentation as well, IMO... not just for its sound and performance. Otherwise: Why even bother with a cruiser and not simply buy a plain old naked bike with better ergos, handling and performance? I guess what I'm trying to say is that I'd prefer the bike if it was a bit worse as a bike ... but a bit better looking.
I got an 1100 with DCT and I love it! I do however miss using a clutch at really low speeds. Have to work with the rear break instead but is harder to control on inclines. Also its not so fun for passengers on this bike. The seat and the position sucks for them 😊
Quite funny hearing americans bash the rebel when Harley Davidsons are popular there. HD is the ultimate nerd bike everywhere else. Nothing is more uncool

You forgot to mention one thing the Rebel 1100 offers that none of the other brands offer. That is, you can get it with an automatic transmission. Honda's dual clutch transmission that can be driven in full auto mode or can be manually shifted with padal/button shifters, like some sports cars.

I've had it since May 2022 and put on about 15,000 miles. I absolutely love this bike. It has a gorgeous look, it's reliable and has enough power to be super fun.

I started riding this September on a 1100 standard and I have put on over 2k miles on it. Being my first bike ever I could not imagine doing it on any other bike, everything has been so easy and so intuitive. 10/10 would recommend.

I’ve had my rebel 1100 for a year, BEST BIKE EVER! Rented a triumph bobber and Indian Scout bobber. Spent a few days on both bikes, both great bikes! I’ll take the rebel every day! Not to mention I got an extra 3000 bucks in my pocket with more options!

Let me start by saying that my opinion probably doesn’t hold much merit, but I’ll give you my thoughts as an owner. I bought a 2021 Rebel 1100 manual as my first bike in January of 2022. Since then I’ve road it, mostly to work, for around 8000 miles. Let me just tell you this, it’s a bike for sure. It’s not some Uber fancy, super fast, drop dead sexy bike, it’s just a bike. I originally planned on buying a Rebel 500 until I found the 1100 at my local Honda dealer. I really love the bike, but I’m biased because I have no experience on any other bike at all. I definitely love the creature comforts like cruise control and ABS which adds to the price tag, but as Yammie said, it’s definitely priced a lot better compared to other bikes in its category. Let me also be the first to tell you that the seat is absolutely atrocious. I have a 1 hour commute each way and by the 45 minute mark my back is screaming for relief. Again, this is the only bike I’ve ridden so it may just be a bike thing. Overall I’d say it’s definitely a great purchase IF it’s what you want out of a bike. I highly recommend getting an aftermarket seat and a windshield for it though that’s for sure.
Nah it’s not you. The Honda rebels are known for having terrible seats. It’s worth adding some kind of cushion or changing them out
I love mine! Gas tank could stand to be bigger but the bike handles really easily. I didn’t realize how much I would appreciate the cruise control until I rode it from Dallas to San Antonio. I replaced the bazooka stock exhaust with a Coffman exhaust, got the headlight cowl, brown diamond stitched seat, and tank grips just the make it my own. Solid bike 👍

I have a 2023 rebel 1100 with the dct. I use it mostly for my work commute. I think it is a great bike for the money. Can’t beat the Honda reliability. Great video on the rebels.
100% agree the indian scout is worth twice as much as the rebel, However being that it is only £3000 more, it is a bargain, get the scout every time! reviewed both and the scout wins every time
Not trying to take a dump on your bike or comment, but all brands are reliable these days. Honestly I am not convinced Honda is any better and some of their recent designs for air filters and spark plug changes means the maintenance is harder than other brands. Even my 2 chinese bikes have never had a problem. It's all about reputation, and even if it isn't really true Honda can charge more for that reputation. Sorry, rant over! lol

Honestly, I don't really rate any particular brand or country as being any better than the other. I've only had 2 Italian scooters, and both were very reliable (crap plastic though, rattled to bits). I should note that I've had 3 CFmotos and they're generally regarded as good bikes, great reliability on all of them. I'm sure cheap Chinese pit bikes and dirt bikes are trash however. Build quality and refinement isn't as good as my Hondas but they always start and go with no issues (Hondas have been great too)

Got my Rebel 1100 (manual) last year as my first bike and I absolutely love it. I took it like a duck to water. It was accessible and comfortable for a first bike, but it's still had loads of room to grow into. First thing I did was change the god awful stock exhaust for a coffman's Thunder, and I loved it even more! The growl is definitely mean.
How is the power compared to a 500 is it like crazy fast for a first bike?
@@MilkManCaravan It definitely has some oomph to it, but if you run it in Rain mode for the first while, the throttle will respond much more like a 500. Once you put it in sport mode, prepare for some punch!
My first street bike was a Rebel. Thru the ages of 14 - 16 I put 18k+ miles on that bike. It never failed me. Super dependable and agile for what it was. Of course as I got older it was time for something bigger, like a car, for the women I had begun to be enamored with. Fast forward 36 years, I've raised my kids and got them off into the world as adults themselves. I began enjoying hobbies again. When I saw the Rebel 500 for the first time, I thought it was a fantastic makeover. But I knew it wasn't enough bike. When I learned the 1100 was a thing, I had to go check it out. I was really impressed as I looked back decades ago at what it used to be. 6 months ago, I received one as a 50th birthday present. I felt like a teenager again. No its not a Harley or a Scout. But what it is, is a reflection of what I was and what I now am. I love the bike, its that simple.

After a few years off, I wanted to get back on a small motorcycle mainly to use around Houston where I live. My first bike was a 1985 Honda Rebel and I always loved that bike. So, that was my first choice. But, for me, the new Rebel style was very uncomfortable to sit on and ride. Plus, I really didn't like the new look at all. It was obvious that this style was targeting the younger crowd. After always buying Hondas, this time I ended buying a Royal Enfield Meteor 350. I totally love this bike.

Ive had my rebel 1100 (standard) for two years now and I have zero complaints. The 1100 is the best bang for the buck in my opinion. Also, there are more and more aftermarket accessories out of it as well, which makes customization easier on the wallet. I may get another bike eventually, but I won't get rid of the Rebel.
I would never own a MC made by Polaris. Like the Victory that went out of business ya never know when polaris will shit can the brand and screw all the owners of the brand. I rode several bikes while looking for a new one. I was super pleased with the Rebel. Originally I rode a DCT and eventually bought a manual. Both are excellent machines. Honda hit a home run when they made the 1100 Rebel.
Already own the ‘22 Honda Rebel 1100 DCT and I am hooked on this bike!! Swapped out the muffler, seat and foot pegs. The Memphis Shades Batwing really makes it stand out and keeps the wind at bay! Hooked!!! Awesome video! 👍

my first bike is the 2021 rebel 1100. its vin number is 250, was one of the first in the US to own it. love the bike. still riding it, not as much, but it goes good. not a single issue with it

The 1100 is not a cruiser. It’s a sport bike in a cruiser skin. The scout bobber looks better, but it’s only good for city riding and going straight. I rode both and you’re not gonna want to go around a curve at 90mph on a scout bobber. My Rebel is limited to 100mph, but I can get there from a stop within two city blocks. The 1100 is just more fun. I’ve been told I ride too fast, but that’s what my 1100 wants to do. It’s not a putt around bike and it doesn’t like to do that. I have about 16k miles on my 1100 and I can’t stop riding that thing.
4:24 you say the Rebel 300 is a parallel twin. It is a single cylinder.
I have the Honda Rebel 1100 cc DCT. I use it around town. I love it.
I didn’t particularly like the look of the Rebel 1100. But I fixed that easily with some fairings, after market mirrors, and slip on. Even with all the mods I did to it…still cost less than any of the other options and it has all the wizbangs you could ever need. I love my 1100….now I just need to upgrade my suspension.

What made me not get the Rebel 1100 is because of what it is, this being a Parallel-Twin. I have a Shadow 1100 which has a V-Twin, which has a unique and in my opinion a "Proper Cruiser" personality, if in your eyes a Cruiser is a V-Twin or nothing. In the end, it's preference. Any Honda is a great choice.

Yeah, above like 80 mph , it starts to stop feeling good. I have pushed mine to 100 though
I bought an 1100, put 3k miles on it, traded it in for an adv bike. The rebel does everything right, minus some very minor, and not so minor things. The stock suspension is not good for anybody over 150lbs, it will need upgraded, I'm only at 180. It does not have a steering stabilizer, and it is verrrrry very light, which at highway speeds it tended to have a lot of head shake and instability... Especially when you hit bumps. Other than that, it really just felt like a sport bike with cruiser ergonomics, the motor is out of the CRF1100X, which is the Honda Africa twin, and it definitely feels like a dirtbike motor, revs high, revs quick, great power, but it lacked low speed rideability, talking 10-20mph, not 0-5. What I'm getting at is your riding experience will vary greatly depending on what state or part of the country you're in. It does not work well for the American midwest, where highways and straight lines are the norm.

Am 260, just adjust the rear spring to 6 clicks and all is well, very smooth. Also half i click on the front, olanted and confort.
I did a tour on my Rebel 1100 DCT 2500 miles and 1900 of that was with over 50kgs of camping gear on the back, it never missed a beat and even single track roads were no problem in Scotland so who needs an Adventure bike costing twice as much if you never actually go off road and only use it for touring and it is much more comfortable.

Yep belong to the nerd group, I put 10,000 miles on mine over the last couple of years, love hate the DCT. In city traffic it's a no brainer . Twisties not so much. Bought this year a BMW GS1250 , two very different bikes. I will keep both. Y😮es the GS is more refined but cost as much as 2.5 Rebels. Yet I still love ithe Rebel and will continue riding it . Two bikes two different purposes.

That's what I'm saying! I have a '14 Shadow Spirit and really enjoy it. Simple, smooth, no muss no fuss attitude. Yamm should do a Shadow video considering he's said many times the Shadow holds a special place in his heart. Especially now that the Shadow Phantom FINAAAALLLLY got some modern updates.

Had a Rebel 1100 for about a year. It was fun but one of the most uncomfortable bike I have owned in 30 years of riding. Bad ergonomic I tried hard to make it was it is not. So I sold the Rebel and got a new Goldwing. Loving life. If you just want to cruise in town to go get milk and eggs then it’s ok.

Im a fairly new rider of 2 years and bought my 1100t a year ago and love it. I did th3 comparisons with the scout and the sportster and for them all very similar in every category except price.
i ride the 2019 rebel 500. i came back from Tampa on I 75 to Ocala, doing 77 mph for 2 hours. no problem(except a 12mph head wind) i have been looking at the scout, great looking bike, 100 hp. low low profile, 6 speed liquid cooled, 14K. the rebel 1100 for 10K. and i love the looks of the rebel style. good video on the rebel line. i honestly have to say, the rebel 1100 will be my next bike. the manual, NOT the dct.
I put about 9,000 mi on my bike since May of 2023. I would not trade it for any of my friends Indians or Harleys. I have the 1100T. It's quick responsive The only thing I've done to it is a 4-in riser and heated grips and it's a beauty much better than any Harley comparable Harley

Started on Suzuki GSX-S750z and still have and love it. Second bike was 2022 Honda Rebel 1100 DCT
I still ride and love them both, but I had to get a kit to reposition the foot pegs on the Rebel, which is not initially suitable for taller or longer-legged riders
It's a close call between the two, but now that I have the forward controls kit by DePretto Moto installed, the Rebel is a little more appealing
The ability to shift with button presses or let the computer handle shifting for you is super convenient and allows you to squeeze all the power out of the 1100 while eliminating any delay from human error during shifting
The S750z can still do a thing or two that the Rebel can't, like exceed 100mph and remain stable and safe at that speed. It also has better overall maneuverability, though the Rebel is no slouch for a cruiser.
Congratulations on doing a review without comparing the subject bikes to a high-end, dedicated, track/moto GP bike. I didn't know you had it in you. The underlying smirk was still there, of course, but only barely noticeable this time.

The thing with the Rebel 250, or my vstar 250, is that they look much better and are much more aesthetic to me than larger motorcycle.
I love the very lean side profile of both motorcycles (specially the vstar 250).
Also, I hate the look of digital velocimeters. I love my vstart 250 analogic one. The digital one looks like a massive repurposed Casio clock.
Just traded in an HD Sportster for a Rebel 1100 DCT touring for my wife. The sportster hurt her wrists & was too heavy for her. I love HD, but the Rebel 1100 is way easier to handle & a blast to ride. Honda absolutely nailed it with the Rebel 1100 DCT…it sets a new standard within light cruisers.
Or, go buy an HD Nightster/Sportster or Indian Scout if you wanna a crappier bike that costs a lot more.
No...I had the dreaded Sony Dream machine ICF-C2W with the "If I don't find my alarm clock within the next second I'll blow my noodle all over the wall" chirping alarm. It was so annoying to wake up to you always placed it right next to your pillow so you can turn it off within 1 chirp.
I did a lot of soul searching when looking at that bike. In Australia the Indian Scout comes with ABS but that is the entire tech factor where the Honda Rebel has traction control and ride modes. The Rebel came in at $19,000 AUD while the scout came in at $21,000 AUD The thing is that I wanted an American cruiser, not a replica of one. The Rebel is a great bike by all accounts. Harley announced the Sportster S which came in at $26,500 AUD two days before I was going to put a deposit on the Honda. The ride package on the Sportster S and the engine power increase would likely put the Rebel at about $24,000 AUD at the time with identical features so it was only a 10% difference in price overall. 10% more for what you want is not a lot on a bike if you plan to ride it. Great bike but not what I wanted, close though.
The Rebel really isn't a replica of an American cruiser, the styling doesn't scream Yank to me in the slightest. It's more Diavel or GSXR than Harley imo
Yeah.....I'd take the Scout over the 1100 even though it's about $3K more. I don't think anyone can disagree with you that the Rebel is clearly the best VALUE of the bikes, but I can't see myself looking back at the Rebel and saying "Damn, that is an awesome bike!"

Yeah I think the Rebel 1100 is the middleweight cruiser version of the Ninja 400 or CBR500R. Much more capable than most beginner bikes of old, but still very manageable by a beginner rider and probably an ideal starting point for a lot of people.
I think the Scout appeals more to riders with more experience who know exactly what they want and the Scout checks all the boxes. The Rebel 1100 isn’t necessarily a bona fide beginner bike and could very be enjoyed by anyone, but again, like the Ninja 400 and CBR500R, I think it finds a solid medium between beginner and intermediate but doesn’t box you into either class.
And I think the 1100 is probably one of the best bang for your buck in Honda’s lineup, and certainly out of the Rebel lineup, which has been my chief complaint with the 500. It just isn’t the best bang for your buck, it’s got a hefty price tag for what it is and I think the 1100 solves a lot of the 500’s problems with a very modest price tag.
Street twin has best balance. Honda feels flimsy and cheaply made. But just my opinion from owning both.
It just needs a larger tank IMO.
Get the 300. It gets 80 mpg. Goes 70 mph. And only had one cylinder. It’s amazing!

This might just be the bike for me. I wanted an mt-09 but I'm a 5'2 guy with an inseam of 27 inches so I can't flat foot it. So I guess God just really wanted me to be a cruiser brother.
I think all of the Bikes mentioned are good. The good thing here is there are several choices of Motorcycles that you can purchase and dress it out the way you want it. Everyone has different preferences, styles including their physical stature where one one Bike may be at a much better riding position. I like them all and don’t think there is one winner. I do know that Honda has a proven record that they make a solid product whether it’s a car, motorcycle, weed eater or lawnmower. It’s all about the journey and what you like.

I starting riding this may on a HD street 500, and about two weeks ago I got the rebel 1100. The seating and posture at first felt less comfortable for me (I'm 5'7) but after some time I got used to it. I do love the power from the rebel 1100 but I don't have enough experience with other bikes to compare it.

@@SouthernStyle08714 I have a 30 in inseam and I can easily flat foot the rebel 1100. The ride is pretty smooth but I think the throttle can be jerky compared to my last bike but that was considerably weaker. My throttle hand has improved on this bike a lot and it’s a lot better once used to it though.

I debated on getting a cruiser style bike or a street bike then I found the street naked category and a bike that I liked and called my local dealership luckily they had one in house so I went to check it out and fell in love almost instantly but was still afraid to pull the trigger on it. After two or three days of thinking about it I finally did it and I'm glad I did I've had so much fun on my bike. Been riding since September and I ride every chance I get when it's not raining or below 50°F outside (I live in the south eastern part of the US).
I have the DCT Touring version. Absolutely brilliant ride. I have had a number of BMWs and I must admit the Rebel is no comparison in terms of BMW's technology etc. But the Rebel is very agile and I love the DCT.
The old Rebel 250 was an excellent first bike. Very reliable and easy to ride. The new generation Rebels? 👍👍

Love my rebel 1100. The handling and acceleration are great, making it a practical choice for my commute in the city, but it's also got enough power to feel comfortable on the highway. I had to add some quality of life mods since at 6'2" the bike isn't the most comfortable off the lot for me, but everything was pretty easy to do

Engine from Africa Twin, cruise control from Gold Wing, and finaly Start-Stop from PCX... so obvious in my mind. If the gears go automatic you should have the option to shut off the bike while in traffic. Tell me yours opinion

How does the 1100 stand above the sportster s? It certainly does not when it comes to power and torque. The sportster S makes more torque than the rebel does horsepower.
I'd be curious about your opinion on Honda's other cruisers like the Fury and Shadow, they actually just revised the Shadow too for 24
I will say the 1100 is probably the only 1000cc bike I would give the ok to a beginner for.
1) Speed Twin 1200, 2) Indian Scout, 3) Harley Sportster, 4) Honda Rebel
The Rebel may be the "best" bang-for-the-buck but it is butt ugly. The only other bike left out of this comparison is the Moto Guzzi V7 and V9. The V7 850 (Corsa) would be in the top three on my list.
If Honda had put just a little more effort into the Rebel's styling, it'd be an even better deal. I'd still prefer a v-twin for this sort of bike, but if it has to be a parallel twin, why not make it look a bit more interesting? The engine is the star of the show in a cruiser and that goes for its looks/presentation as well, IMO... not just for its sound and performance. Otherwise: Why even bother with a cruiser and not simply buy a plain old naked bike with better ergos, handling and performance? I guess what I'm trying to say is that I'd prefer the bike if it was a bit worse as a bike ... but a bit better looking.

The honda is a great all around commuter bike, but if you are a weekend warrior (thrust me on this one) go with the indian or Harley
I got an 1100 with DCT and I love it! I do however miss using a clutch at really low speeds. Have to work with the rear break instead but is harder to control on inclines. Also its not so fun for passengers on this bike. The seat and the position sucks for them 😊

Honda Rebel 500 seems well adequate.
I couldn't justify the money for the Rebel 1100.

Im planning to buy 2023 Indian Scout Bobber.
The rebel 1100 makes no sense to me sense it's capped at 99mph. Faster acceleration isn't worth the extra weight/price imo
