  • Last year rail service was restored to a section of the Myles Standish Industrial Park that hadn't seen trains in about 30 years. I covered the rebuild and the first trains but haven't filmed again since the summer so I caught this again. We see CSX L007 taking care of new customer Musket Corp before retreating back to Middleboro, MA.

Great video, saw the earlier ones where they were restoring the spur for the building siding.

CSX is also upgrading track in Nashua, NH , and west on the Hillsborough branch. Something B&M refused to do.

CSX did a lot of work west of Nashua towards Wilton, but that ends at a gravel pit. Beyond there towards Hillsboro remains a question/mystery!

CSX must be looking to increase traffic on the Hillsborough branch. Why else all the tie upgrades from Main St in Nashua, out to Wilton? Just to be able to increase train speed to reduce crew hours? Would there be enough of a return on investment to justify the track upgrade?

I live on the freight line in Bridgewater. Freights are notorious for having whistles that exceed the permitted DBA levels and the engineers are know for being abusive with the length of the signals, that they blast. Good luck Taunton!

Not too long ago the railroads would have said that a pair of GP40-2s on a local freight like this was a waste of horsepower that could be used on an intermodal train. A pair of GP38-2s would have been preferred. Not anymore.

It’s awesome to see all of these restored lines! It’s beautiful and it sure looks and feels a lot better than seeing lines turned into walking paths!

I honestly feel sorry for the family who lives in that gray house next to the crossing... I can only imagine the horns after Midnight. 😀

Maybe the reason for the For Sale sign?

The Gray house has been vacant for years, However the people that own it live to the left of it The town wouldn't give them a permit because of the RR Right of way being to close, I live right down the street from there
