I just wish I could tell him that I'm still proud of everything he's done, no matter how crappy things might have gotten for him. He's an icon of my generation and a pioneer of UA-cam and the Internet and he deserves more credit for it.
This video came out 14 years ago, which was the time between Spoony buying the game and making the video itself. This video is as old now as Microcosm was when it was filmed.
The end where he mimics Martin Short was one of the funniest things I have ever seen (as well as 1000x funnier than any humor in that entire movie). Noah knew how to physically emote sarcasm even without saying a word - that is real talent.
To be fair, I think 'Innerspace' was really trying to be more of a whimsical science fiction/adventure than a comedy. I think most of the levity was meant to be found in the novelty of the concept rather than any jokes in the writing. Martin Short was about the only real comedy actor in the cast and even he mostly only had goofy physical mannerisms that played into his character as a neurotic loser.
Why do we need another planet for this story? You could just say the year 20xx and it would be the same, just a lot less complicated. Or where they actually trying to build a franchise?
yeah why have a postapocalyptic thriller game fighting for control of the world's resources when you can go inside some dude's body and fight blobs. How awesome. lol
Given that detailed backstory in the instruction book, plus the glossary of the Solar System I'm going with they were so confident in this being a hit that they were planning a franchise?
Since spoony disables comments on videos, and after leaving any fandom of Channel Awesome YEARS ago, I have this as the only place to reveal this gem. The SGI workstations mentioned in this video are of the company silicon graphics incorporated; which was the most advanced computer company in the world until 2009, this video [ua-cam.com/video/lEcw_oTKTa0/v-deo.html] explains them well, they had a graphics supercomputer in 1993 that cost 250k.
Anybody know what the music is starting at 18:55? He used it in a few different segments and it's driving me crazy trying to remember what movie it's from.
This is one of my favorites of Spoony's FMV Hell series along with Bloodwings: Pumpkinhead's Revenge and the awesome one on the Make My Video Sega CD games!
You know, I looked this up, and that first definition of Microcosm, presumably the "real" definition, is wrong. That's not what Microcosm means, at all.
I think the idea is that the game is supposed to be a proxy war -- a "microcosm" of the conflict between the corporations whist at the same time taking place on a microscopic scale. Not that it really matters. The game is still terrible.
The Order 1886 is an example of good idea, poor execution. I mean the game has good graphics an interestingly developed world, a steampunk aesthetic but it fails in terms of gameplay decisions and kind of glaring story flaws
Man. I'm sure glad we left those days when developers would sell you a boring, uninteresting cash in to a popular genre of games by giving you boring tat, roping in famous names as part of it's production, and having a funny shaped box. That doesn't....Wait.....OH NO... That Donkey Kong music wasn't in one of the versions of the Microcosm review. I think.
What game is the opening music from? I've heard it in a few of his videos. EDIT: Also, same for 10:15. Sounds like the soundtrack to a movie I watched like a million times 10-20 years ago. Van Helsing?
hahahaaa @4:00 spoony's my bro he got syrup in zannies in the background hahaa i'd hate to be the guy who sent him this game XD he might really catch a body?
Rick Wakeman is a pianist.......now...I fucking LOVE the piano. I just dont think being a pianist and doing synth to piano covers of old rock songs makes you a legend in rock. I think they should have been sued at some point for false advertising.
I wonder if anyone from the Ukraine, Belarus, Serbia or other countries would like to do local subtitles for these videos? BTW, Kazakh is also in Russian letters, so I'd like to see a Kazakh sub of this video!
I miss the old Spoony.
I still love these videos. Catchin’ feels right now.
I miss Spoony , period
He should have never discovered Twitter.
I just wish I could tell him that I'm still proud of everything he's done, no matter how crappy things might have gotten for him.
He's an icon of my generation and a pioneer of UA-cam and the Internet and he deserves more credit for it.
We all do
The part where he plays with his toys, especially that Arnold impersonation, is my favorite.

Microcosm: Where 95 percent of the effort was spent on the backstory and 5 percent was spent on the game!
EA: Where 95 percent of the effort goes to advertising and 5 percent goes to production.
I love how completely unconcerned the character looks as his ship explodes. At least they TRIED to make a rich backstory for the game.
It just happens to drone ON AND ON.

Schwarzer Ritter maybe earth is a paradise only the insanely rich can afford to live on
I love the Conan part.
"Wait, gas costs HOW much? Fuck that!" LOL!
Noah playing with his dolls is still a better story than Twilight
+Martin Meers The first 20 minutes of Up is a better story than twilight.
Richard Weatherfield the first 20 minutes was a masterpiece!
+Richard Weatherfield A Tale of Two Cities is a better story than Twilight.
+Richard Weatherfield A Tale of Two Cities is a better story than Twilight.
A Tale of Two Cities is a better story than a lot of stories. Including Twilight.

Platoon. It's the scene where Sgt Elias dies. Pretty iconic.
@@bobleeroy7727 Bless you my friend.
This is one of my favorites of Spoony's FMV Hell series along with Bloodwings: Pumpkinhead's Revenge and the awesome one on the Make My Video Sega CD games!
I underestimated spoony's ah-nold impression. My father's seeyord was spot on!.
"Live the good life in the Off-World Colonies." Good old Blade Runner reference, but when 2019 came for real, it was nothing like that!
I would watch a movie about Golden age Superman and Conan fighting Giant Dizzy Gilespe as acted by Spoony!
...wait...
Laura B i miss spoony
i really want to know who had to write that manual
"LETHAL ENFORCERS." LOL, the way he said that was funny!
"This is not a very good sequel to Starship Troopers." Hell, the ACTUAL sequels to Starship Troopers were not good sequels to Starship Troopers, LOL!
You know, I looked this up, and that first definition of Microcosm, presumably the "real" definition, is wrong. That's not what Microcosm means, at all.
+Kevyn The DevylMan I'm pretty sure the second and third definition on that box are wrong too.
To be exact its the SECOND definition, the one that is literally never used because since when does Micro mean Epitome of the Universe?
I think the idea is that the game is supposed to be a proxy war -- a "microcosm" of the conflict between the corporations whist at the same time taking place on a microscopic scale.
Not that it really matters. The game is still terrible.
Innerspace is one of my favorite 80's movies!
This may be worse than VCR Golf. or at leas it's on PAR! MUHAHAHAAHAH!!!
a movie and a game did these guys work on the order 1886
The Order 1886 is an example of good idea, poor execution. I mean the game has good graphics an interestingly developed world, a steampunk aesthetic but it fails in terms of gameplay decisions and kind of glaring story flaws
It’s like they took an outline to a subpar Novel & turned it into a video game at the last minute
5:09 Anyone know which Stephen King book he's looking at here? I can't make out the title and I'm curious.
Winter Steele it's The Stand

I love how he's called "The Spoony" in these videos, as if he's worshipped as some kind of deity in Russia.
I don't see how "the" in front of the name suggest deity
neither do i lol
so... why did you bring this up?
Rin Lockhart how should i know? eat a bag of shit.
nameless noone nice to meet you too. Did you have a bad day?
Why is the chrono trigger music taken out?
"Жить хорошо файл в колониях outworld!"
What game is the opening music from? I've heard it in a few of his videos.
EDIT: Also, same for 10:15. Sounds like the soundtrack to a movie I watched like a million times 10-20 years ago. Van Helsing?
Its the main theme from Army of Darkness at 10:15
@@Calculon1712 THANK YOU!!!!

Sounds the the plot of The Fanstastic Voyage
Or Innerspace
So it's like "Fantastic Voyage" on crack?
***** So it's all mellow and easily confused? :)
***** Of course I forgot that part. :)
+Chris McWilliams More like Innerspace on meth....
Auxillian Warghost Oh yeah? Okay. :)

goddimmus Yeah he was in Yes, played on their only really good albums, he is also an accomplished session player and solo artist :)
God the ending of this video is legendary. I miss Spoony so, SO much.
If only he'd humble himself but I doubt that he would do something like that.
He went on to better things: ua-cam.com/video/hy9KDdmkGC0/v-deo.html
Anyone know which specific cover of that ff song is in the beginning

What's the movie clip at the very end
Shane Nolan
It's from 'Innerspace', a movie this game was pretty much a shameless ripoff of.
@@robotwoInnerspace is a fun movie. But Microcosm isn’t a good game.
Crushed pill powder on a surface that disappears over the course of the video???

I love Psygnosis
6:58 - 8:45 .... Spoony, are you okay?
"Ah, Amy Winehouse was here." Heh.
It's sad when a guy playing with toys can make a better DC Movie then DC
You'd get your $60 back on eBay now for that game in it's original box. May have took awhile but hey
I wonder if anyone from the Ukraine, Belarus, Serbia or other countries would like to do local subtitles for these videos? BTW, Kazakh is also in Russian letters, so I'd like to see a Kazakh sub of this video!
Я тоже, но чего то это не показалось смешным
"какой-то мяч" вы серьезно?
мне кажется или он до сих пор живет с мамой?)
I beat this game, and I sucked at games as a kid. This was fun and got it for like 10 bucks.
4:11 ...lol
I own a SCD and some of it's better games with actual good graphics (for the fourth generation). And I sure as hell don't have any of it's FMV titles!
lol funny review. over the years Try to finish this game on the original dos game cd rom. love the ending review ha ha ha
hey at least the soundtrack is great
+Mile Filmmaker I bought the Sega CD version without owning a Sega CD and put it directly in my Yes collection.
Если это так, то мда...
Sucks to be this guy in the game.
HEEEEEEEEEEEET!
Heeeeeeeeet!
