Thank you!! This has been very helpful, just dipping my toe into all this stuff which is difficult for an old geezer. That is a really good simple guide, cheers!!
This was a wonderful tutorial, it helped me out greatly! If you had one with the EBB42 next, I would be eternally grateful. I'm working on that now and boy am I lost. Quick note - su is "switch user", the command you're looking for is "sudo passwd". You can remember the sudo command by thinking "super user do" which is to tell the computer to do this command as the super user. You probably have already found/seen that, but in case anyone else was wondering, here it is.
You did a great job. However, this convinced me that it just isn't worth the trouble. Maybe BTT will start including two thermistors with the board so people can install it! lol
Thanks. Normally I show bench setups, but most install directly. The point for this tutorial is to show OS setup. More tutorials will examine aspects of other components. There's four up on Patreon for this board that I'll release soon.
Thank you for this installation Video, great work, very clear and concise. I am struggling with installing the 4 screws to secure both the heatsink and CB1 module. There seems to be a film over the screw holes on the Manta board, below the CB1 board. Do I need to peel something off? I have not seen these types of hole covers before. I do not want o peel something that is not intended to be peeled. plz advise.
@@EdwardBraiman Thank you, Ed. I was able to get past the tape. I did find the included M2x10mm screws were very much incorrectly sized. Do you happen to know the actual size of the 4 brass insert threads for the CB1/CB4 mounting holes?
I'll be releasing video in a couple, but have only gotten 8gb emmc to work. 16gb seems to partition when imaged. Granted I think I was experimenting with OctoPrint, but it was a month ago.
Hello Ed - thank you for the great guide. But i do have an question, i followed all steps as you did, but when i need to check for the serial identification it doesnt find it... i get errors all time, no matter what to do. It seems the Manta doesn´t speak to the CB1, Even though i´ve repeated all steps and followed the manual three times...
great video..im following along and got to the part where u said u have a link for the firmware on your patreon page...i went there and cant find it..could you tell me how to get to it..thank you
Wouldn't it be easier to just delete the missing include file and paste the printer configuration inside the printer.cfg file instead? I don't see the benefit of doing it as a separate file like that when it is just running one printer. Not a bad tutorial overall. A couple of things that could have been done more simply, but over all not too bad
@@EdwardBraiman I set up the Manta E3 EZ and CB1, but the setup doesn't start when I remove the SD card. It starts when I insert the SD card. How can I make it start without the setup SD card?
Hi Ed, I am facing some issues with wires. When I have E3EZ powerd by micro usb (Vbus jumper on) CB1 and klipper starts. Once I try to power it up from 24v PSU by DC_IN port CB1 does not start at all ACT light remains dark 3v3 is getting lited. You are welcome.

If you don't have 2 thermistors why on earth would you want a printer mainboard?
@@simonburke6681 Why on earth would you make a comment when you didn't watch the whole video?
@Baxrok2 i watched bud, I have it working because I have a printer and funny enough it had 2 thermistors, lol
Hey there I am hi_no_see, I want ask a question. Does octopus work without raspberry pi 1‐5?
Would it be better if you rehearsed this before recording? Also, maybe edit out your mistakes as well...

I have a cb1 with 16gb eMMC, how do you install klipper onto the emmc instead of sdcard? What image do you use?

Basically 16gb didn't work.
Emmc load for 8gb should be visible now

There's a Discord link in description and either myself or someone else can help you in Klipper chat.
Will this work on a CR10-S Pro V2?
if I pair with this with the hdmi 7 display by bigtreetech, what connector do I use to connect the two together?
I'll need to look it up.

@gemici6701 depends on the version of CB1 there's a version with eMMc(on board memory) and one without. Depends on which you have.

Usually means you're not pointed at serial connection in printer.cfg with MCU label.
