Thank you for posting this. I have V2.2 of the M4P and it didn't change from this video. The only thing that was different was the firmware.bin file did not change to FIRMWARE.CUR. Everything else seems normal. I saw someone else mentioned that in the comments below. Maybe it's just a Marlin thing.
There are several reasons why firmware.bin will not change to FIRMWARE .CUR. Micro SD card format issues or just a bad SD card, wrong chipset selected in Marlin build and sometimes it needs to be primed with an empty file named FIRMWARE.CUR on zero byte size.
Hi! Sorry if its too basic to ask. I am new to this! I want to ask if I want to use external Motor driver for my stepper motor, can I use it? Because my torque requirements are higher then conventional NEMA 17, So my selected motor has an Amps of 3.5. The 5160T Pro is expansive for me to buy.. so was wondering is there a scope to add external driver like TB6600 to Manta M4P which can support 5A. thank you
I know this is older. But I just got my M4P out of the box V2.2 with CB1. I am trying to get a HDMI touch screen working. It just keeps saying no signal. I did change the boardenv file for HDMI. So I am not sure what is going on.
I've tried to follow this several times and always have the same issue - when flashing the firmware the green LED flashes but the filename does not change to uppercase. Strangely the printer works fine. I'll discuss it with you on Discord if you wish.
Has firmware been load once on the board yet? If not create a "FIRMWARE.CUR" on drive for SD card that zero bytes. Attempt load and see if firmware.bin changes. Also is SD card formatted either FAT or FAT32.
@@EdwardBraiman I tried everything is it possible to be my serial?: "usb-Klipper_stm32g0b1xx_hurakan-if00" Is it possible to load klipper without firmware or without proper I started the printer (Vminion Ratrig) but s strange Printing layers on the hlaf - detail should be 20mm calibration cube buth it goes exactly 10. If you place firmware.bin on drive and it does not change to FIRMWARE.CUR, then it means firmware did not load. The reason can be many such as using incorrect SD card drive, SD card is not formatted as FAT or FAT32, board is not powering up when loading sd card, firewater.bin is not made correctly. There's a Discord link in description where you can talk it out with other people. There's 1.1K members in chat and usually there's about a 100 ppl in chat at once.
Which motherboard are you using? I'm seeing your comments on several unrelated topics? There's a Discord link in description and either myself or someone else can help.
this may be the dumbest question. so dumb that i cant find the answer anywhere.. but there is kapton tape over the screwholes where the cb1 sits. am i suposed to take that off or just pierce it with the heatsink screws? the tape is on quite firmly so i dont know haha
@@EdwardBraiman So it being plugged into a laptop shouldn't cause an issue? Sorry for the basic questions my work just tossed this to me even tho its my first week as entry level help desk so I am totally inexperienced with these things.
You only need connect to board with Marlin firmware or if you're flashing a CB1 or CM4 that contains EMMc. CB1 with EMMc are hard to find at the moment.
@@EdwardBraiman The issue I run into is when I run the ls/dev/serial/by-id command it gives me no file or folder found. It seems to be taking the flash as it renames the .bin to a .cue file on the SD card. Would the USB cord plugged into my computer cause this issue?
This generally means firmware is not yet installed. I posted firmware on Patreon for user who wants it prebuilt for Klipper. Also there's a playlist in description.
@Ed's 3d Tech I'm not using the Manta m4p. I'm using the cb1 with the btt pi4 adapter. I was wondering how close the set up is between the manta m4p and the pi4b adapter

I'm totally lost at 10 minutes in because you've gone deep into the weeds of this technology instead of staying with the project you began with.
There's a shorter version in playlist.
Thanks for posting. Very helpful!
Great video will be installing this on my Ender 6
Thanks.

Great video, I'm currently stuck at the ip address point and for some reason the hdmi5 is only 2/3 size on screen.
Sounds like a setting in configuration file.

Depends on the model of HDMI also configuration files on CB1 might also be places to look.

with ls /dev/serial/by-id/* I recieve XX for the serial number. Don't find any info how to check for this.🤔
Usually means firmware is not loaded on board.

It's either way. Normally I remove it
The usb is the other end plugged into a 3d printer or computer when you ran the command for the serial?
USB connection is going threw motherboard in this case.

How different/similar is this install with the cb1 and pi4b adapter?
Not sure I understand question. You can use raspberry pi CM4 or CB1 module's, others are possible, but not in scope of these tutorials.

Is there a way to find the ip using command prompt?
Arp -a, but it's best the do via router as windows might now filter it.
@Ed's 3d Tech I did try that I'm having trouble with wifi it seams. I hooked it up directly for now and got it to work.
Do you know if the manta M8P also comes with an antenna?
Manta doesn't, but last CB1 received did.
@@EdwardBraiman Thank you. And by chance do you know where I can get the antenna seperate?
actually
OMG --- I am sure this is good content but so hard to follow - can't figure out what your doing sooooo lost
