Man that was the hardest earned encore of all time, but so worth it. I can't believed they tried to shut her down, but then she came back on what a hero. I'm actually so in love with Joanna Newsom.
I was in the front row when she came to Birmingham and the amount of emotion she put into this song was quite incredible. If she ever played any of her very early songs like Flying a Kite or The Fray in concert, I don't think I'd ever be able to recover. She is the real thing.
@indyjb i had the same problem at the boston show a few days later...and i was all the way in the back. he was still super loud during this song in particular, and at other moments. put a damper on it! but still amazing regardless...definitely my favorite song on the new record. great quality man
Wow! How nice of him. Thanks for the info. :) Why would someone give me a thumbs down for my opinion on the volume?? Wasn't meant to be negative to Joanna in any way.
Wow my comment has so many negative votes you can’t even see it? Damn. I didn’t realize it was that harsh of an observation. Oh well. I have come to love the instrumentation of this song. This song is one of my favorites on her latest album. Guess I just wanted to hear the vocals clearly.
Part of that is definitely my position at the front of the stage. I was right next to the drums which caused the levels to be way too loud at parts. If I'd taped back by the soundboard, it probably would have been fine. The drummer actually apologized to me for the volume as he was leaving.

Thank you so much for the awesome recording.
Beautifully captured!
Seriously, I might even un-upload my poor-quality videos.
Btw, this was one of my favorite moments :)

LOLLL welcome to watching any live video, ever
me too...lol
did you manage to get a tripod into the show?
Other instruments, WAY to loud, Jesus. I know that's part of the mood/effect of the song - but, ugh. You can't even hear her vocals when they come in.
what is the deal with this guitarist? he is ruining the song.
