Clutch knocking noise on the John Deere 730/720/70 tractor with clutch disengaged.

We replace all the consumable clutch discs to eliminate a knocking noise with clutch disengaged. However, this noise went away engaging the clutch in neutral. These may very well be the original clutch plates or more likely, the second set.
Btw, do NOT just replace the outer drive disc but rather, all pressure plates and drive discs...there are 6 consumable plates in total!
