This is an concert audio recording of Prince and The Revolution performing Purple Rain at the Orange Bowl in Miami, Florida on April the 7th, 1985. This show was the last date of the Purple Rain Tour.

The Orange Bowl is long gone but I remember this night. The lights turned out and when they came back on they were all purple. The fog from the machine hung in the air making purple clouds slowly drifting over. This long guitar intro caused the crowd to start singing that high part Prince sings at the end. By the time he hit the stage he had all in the palm of his hands. The congregation had gathered, the chorus was in harmony, there was only one thing left to do and he did it .
He took em' to church.

He actually played a blues type solo and rendition to this Purple Rain song. It reminded me of BB King.....TOTALLY AWESOME!!!!

I was there. one of the best shows too this day for me. man, there gone there gone glad got the chance to see him. awesome show remember like it was yesterday. I believe we the last leg of tour. R.I.P Prince !
