You've GOT to do "The Money Pit" with Tom Hanks HILARIOUS!!!! "When will it be done? 2 weeks"
That’s a fantastic company
Yes!!!!!
Yes
My husband is into home improvement and busted laughing at that one!!!😂😂
"Moving" with Richard Pryor too😂
"Uhm..220/221, whatever it takes" (One of the funniest, deadpanned, most quotable movie lines ever!)
Ha beat me to it lol classic line
I was an Army technician. Believe me, we quoted this line constantly when we would tease new troops straight out of school.
40 years later and my sister and I still say that whenever the subject of home repair comes up.
Yes, great line.
And the circle back line when she (Teri Garr) shoots Him (Michael Keaton) they asked her did she used a 38 she replies a 38 or 39 whatever it takes. CLASSIC
Another Michael Keaton comedy from this same time period is “Gung-Ho.”
Terry Garr is adorable in this. I love the ‘80’s businesswoman look.
My favorite part of Gung Ho was Michael Keaton's invention ideas. He had one to put mayonnaise in the tuna right in the can! Who'd a thought we have that now!
Yeah "Gung Ho" was a good film saw it back in the 80s. It was also about the dying Detroit Car industry.
I think "Gung Ho" which came out several years after this one, and was based somewhat on a real event, was inspired partly by his character in this movie.
Yes - Gung Ho!
@@sandynelson3755…. I think you’re thinking of the movie ‘Night Shift’, which he starred in with Henry Winkler. His character, Billy Blaze (as I remember), had all the crazy ideas he’d say into a little tape recorder. Both funny movies!
"Baby Boom" with Diane Keaton is a fun one too. "Three Men and a Baby" with Tom Selleck, Steve Guttenberg (Police Academy) and Ted Danson
They would love Three Men and a Baby!
I loved baby boom when I was little..we had it on VHS .. good lord I'm old lol 😂
Baby boom is awesome
@@estills4768 Absolutely! Three Men and a Baby would be a great one for them! ❤
Baby Boom! Love that movie
Michael Keaton is great. Beetlejuice, Batman and another comedy that is criminally underrated, The Dream Team.
Don't forget Johnny Dangerously lol.
I love The Dream Team! And Johnny Dangerously!
Night Shift is his best comedy.
@@lindagraham-tuttle6003 Also Gung Ho, Night Shift and Multiplicity
Also Gung Ho and Founder. Founder is not a comedy but is a very interesting movie about how McDonald's got huge.
"Johnny Dangerously"
1984 ‧ Comedy/Crime Starting Michael Keton is funny.
"You stinking bastiges!" 😂
You and your testicles....lmao
@@honorsilverthorne7227You farging icehole!
I’ve been using the term “fargin icehole” ever since I saw it as a kid…and now that I’m typing it out I hope I’ve been quoting it correctly.
" I can see ... I can see... " 😵🥴🤣
Another great Michael Keaton movie - Multiplicity is comedy GOLD!
"She touched my Pepe, Steve" 😂
_She touched my Pepe, Steve_
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂 Great underrated flick!
I like pizza!
Very underrated movie! “4” is the best of the Dougs. 😂
@@CathyHolton-jh1xv "Sometimes when you make a copy from a copy, it's not quite as sharp as the original."
Love Michael Keaton! Still making great movies to this day! And Teri Garr - who was an extra/dancer in many Elvis movies! You’d love her in the movie “Tootsie”
Yes, you guys have GOT to see Tootsie!!!
And "Young Frankenstein"!! Teri Garr is fabulous as Inga! "Roll, roll, roll in the hay..." 🤣
@@SwiftFoxProductionsI've had a crush on Teri Garr since 'Star Trek', TOS
Teri Garr was also "Inga' in Mel Brooks' "Young Frankenstein" as well as in Spielberg's "Close Encounters of the Third Kind". She also played Phoebe's (Lisa Kudrow) biological mother on "Friends". It's a bummer that Teri Garr was diagnosed with MS. Some years ago, she had her first appearance on David Letterman in a long while, and it was a chore for her to come out on stage.
@@walteralcaraz5898 She was also the wife in "Oh, God".
A movie every child from the 80s remembers and cherishes :)
Good movie, John Hughes had a hell of run in the 80's and early 90's. He wrote Mr. Mom and Vacation which both came out in 1983. His career as a director started with Sixteen Candles in 1984.
I didn't know this was a John Hughes movie. That is why it feels so real.
Micheal Keaton is the most underrated actor ever. Ya gotta see Beetlejuice, Batman, The Founder which is about the founder of McDonalds, Night Shift, and his best roll ever...Live from Baghdad.
Love you guys!!!
Night Shift is one of my favorites along with the Dream Team!
Nobody reacts to Night Shift. Shame.
They reacted to Beetlejuice
I would like to see them do a reaction to Batman Returns.
He’s still my favorite Batman and Bruce Wayne. And Batman Returns may be my favorite Batman movie.
And yeah, he should be familiar to you as he played Beetlejuice. Two darker movies of which I like a lot are CLEAN AND SOBER, which is a great movie about addiction and TOUCH & GO, where he plays a professional hockey player. He’s good at playing dark, tough or non-likable characters.
I had such a crush on Teri Garr in the 70's and 80's. From Young Frankenstein and forward...
She even had a bit part on a Star Trek episode (the original).
What great knockers….
@@jamessumita9523Oh, thank you, darling!
They didn't notice Christopher Lloyd, the future Doc Brown from Back to the Future, and so much more. 🤣 I have been following his career since Taxi. This was SUCH a departure at the time.
I loved Christopher Lloyd in 'Dream Team', where he starred with Michael Keaton, Peter Boyle and Stephen Furst as a group of escaped mental patients, with Dennis Boutsikaris as their therapist. Very funny.
Remember, being stressed out as a parent only happens because you are a GOOD parent!
Those noodles he makes are called cellophane noodles.
You get a pot or wok with boiling oil, throw either the package
or a little bit at a time in & the puff up in about three seconds-
they're really good for adding crunchy texture to Chinese food (great with Mongolian Beef).
Also, all Critical Role fans will know that little Kenny (of the woobie) is played by Taliesin Jaffe.
Totally early 80's! My wife and I saw this movie at the mall theater in 1983 on our first official date! Because of that it's a lifetime favorite!
Michael Keaton is and has been, one of my favorite actors! So glad youre reacting to this.
"9 To 5" should be next!
Low budget flick with relatively unknown cast won a lot of hearts for it’s warm, funny story. Keaton’s career would skyrocket after this.
Such a great cast Keaton, Garr, Jeffrey Tambor, Christopher Lloyd, Patti Deutch, Martin Mull, Ann Jillian. Awesome’80s flick
Miriam Flynn, too.
Michael Keaton is a legend.
Michael Keaton in Multiplicity....how he wasn't nominated for an Oscar is crazy.
You guys need to see the movie Multiplicity..... soo funny 😂
“You’re doing it wrong!” Pretty sure I work that into conversation more than I should.
"you're not a bum are ya daddy?" .. "nah, but im working on it." LOL
I worked on an offshore drilling rig in the -80s. I was surprised to find out that all of the roughnecks were addicted to soap operas.
Marines, too.
NFL too.
Early 80s was peak Soap opera addiction.
Well, I wasn't really into the daytime soaps (though I couldn't escape knowing what Luke did to Laura - then they got married - which sort of confirmed to me that I wasn't missing anything) -- BUT ... then there was DALLAS! Soap opera done right!
I was on Okinawa (seeing episodes several weeks after they were shown in America) when the country was obsessed with "Who shot JR?) and we were all "JR's going to get shot???" @@citydweller99
Three Men and a Baby is another awesome "fish. out of water" movie from the 80's. And I'm putting in my usual requests for Adventures of Babysitting and License to Drive. Both hilarious 80's movies with KILLER soundtracks. I know you'll love BOTH of them :). Cheers from Ontario, Canada! :)
Nobody leaves without singing the blues.
I love this movie so much! I'm so glad you're reacting to it. Very few do. "You fed a baby chili?!?!?!?!"
Multiplicity with Michael Keaton is great!
One of his friends in the carpool was Christopher Lloyd whom you might remember from Clue. Keaton and Lloyd were also in the Dream Team together. Lloyd was also in BTTF III (hint, hint 😂).
I was watching Asia and BJ when this alert came up. I ran here to feed the baby chili 🏃🏻♀️😂
Fun reaction, Mr Richardson, played by Martin Mull was also in CLUE, which you guys enjoyed a few months ago. I think the best movie for parents is PARENTHOOD, which has a very young Keanu Reeves in it. and stars Steve Martin
My wife watches Young and the Restless. Victor and Nikki are STILL on that show! 😂
And the baby, who was Victor's, has been a main character on the show for over 20 years.
I was in a hospital waiting room, and after The Price Is Right was over, it came on and was surprised to see them on there.
@@brianstacey2679the episode I saw in a waiting room had Victor in it, not sure if I saw Nikki, but I did see Cricket and another male character I remember when my grandma used to watch it. Blonde-haired guy, saw him in a montage of videos where Cricket is thinking back to past or recent past. Can’t remember his name, for some reason I’m thinking Doug and I guess he was married or dated Cricket. Never really watched the show since I around 10 or 11 when I was staying at my grandma’s house and probably saw a segment as 13 or 14 year old.
@@JohnnyUtah15 Was it Paul? I had to look it up. My grandma watched Y&R too, among other shows. My sister and I watched with her when we stayed there during the summer and it rained. These characters must be restless, cuz they sure ain’t young. 😂
@@rustybarrel516 ha, yes! I just looked it up, and it is Paul. His real name is Doug, but I didn’t know that lol. So, he’s been on there the second longest after Victor. Haha, yes they sure restless!
Terri Garr was a pretty famous actress in the 80s. But you might remember her from the show Friends, she played Phoebe’s birth mom.
Teri Garr was one of my first crushes as a kid.
As soon as I saw Young Frankenstein, I was lost in her.
Me too. I watched David Letterman more because of her.
Same!
It was the sting II that really had me swooning for her! I had the biggest crush on her when I was a kid.
@@seanswinton6242 It's funny to see someone say that. She was the only reason I watched Letterman. I couldn't stand him otherwise.
Michael Keaton in Gung Ho
Very funny and entertaining
The Incredible Shrinking Woman with Lilly Tomlin is another fun 80's comedy. A "modern" take on the B-movie fad where people /animals/insects were either shrinking or growing to giants.
Of course, some of those old movies would be a fun watch as well.
Life is so much easier with Galaxy Glue 🎶
I absolutely loved The Incredible Shrinking Woman when I was little. I used to watch it on HBO whenever it was on. It made me scared to go anywhere near a garbage disposal for at least a year. 🤣
So true. The Incredible Shrinking Man is a really good movie. Very thought provoking as all good SF is. I love Lily Tomlin's take on it as well.
ROB SQUAD I HAVE NOT SEEN THIS ONE IN QUITE A FEW YEARS 😮I THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR REACTING TO IT!! ANOTHER GREAT FUN MOVIE WITH MICHAEL KEATON IS CALLED "NIGHT SHIFT", ALSO STARRING HENRY WINKLER (HE PLAYED FONZIE IN HAPPY DAYS)!
MICHAEL KEATON PLAYED BEETLEJUICE! I THINK YOU'VE SEEN AT LEAST ONE OTHER MOVIE WITH HIM IN IT ALSO!!
❤❤❤❤
Night shift-Michael Keaton, Henry Winkler-Hysterical!
Michael Keaton is in a movie called "Gung Ho" .. so funny, Please review that one.
"I rike you, you make me smile."
@@stebstebanesier6205you make me raff… not smile, but great line and great movie!
Michael Keaton in :
“The Dream Team”
with Christopher Lloyd ( back to the future) , Peter Boyle ( while you were sleeping, everybody loves Raymond)
really sweet, funny.
And Flounder from Animal House rounding out the team.
Peter Boyle, The creature from Young Frankenstein
This was one of the movies that made everyone think Michael Keaton was too goofy to play 'Batman'...
And every single one of use were completely wrong.
Absolutely my favorite Batman
Never thought that one
I fell in love in this flick and over the moon never to return with Batman
When he returned to the Batman role recently the inner child came out something great happened to me both emotionally and physically, my husband was so happy to see it as I normally don’t get moved to often like that
Love Michael then, still and always
I love this movie! It’s one of those oft forgotten classics of the early 80s. Great reaction.
If you have a bizarre need to feel old, the kid with the woobie is now playing D&D on the Critical Role channel.
I was wondering how many critters noticed this. They need to watch The Legend of Vox Machina now.
Loved this movie as a kid, love it even more as an adult.
Another good one is " Heaven can wait" starring warren beatty. Jay will enjoy it as the lead character is ( at times) a pro football player.
Heaven Can Wait is a remake of Here Comes Mr Jordan from the forties. In the original he is a boxer instead of a football player
This movie resonates with me cuz I watched it when I was young...and then found myself being a stay at home dad so my wife could further her career. We also from Detroit
I loved Teri Garr in Young Frankenstein with Gene Wilder!! A classic!! Hilarious! A must-see. BTW, Michael Keaton is the actor that plays Beetlejuice.
Michael Keaton is the goat. Everything he has done is great, this one, BeatleJuice, the 90s Batman films, his supporting characters in films like The Other Guys & Need For Speed.
The dude is just great!
If it’s got Keaton in it, it’s probably going to be a good time no matter the genre.
Check out GUNG HO for another quirky Keaton comedy from around the same time 👍
Night Shift..
“PROS… We’re all pros here!”.. bawahahaha!..
Michael Keaton at his best! You should check out Multiplicity.
By far one of my favorite Michael Keaton movies! It's one that I can watch again and again.
Teri Garr is one of my very actresses. Beautiful woman. Funny. In so many great movies.
Never clicked on a video so fast. Love this movie!
Michael Keaton, the first Batman, Is a natural comedian. He's a bit of a rabbit hole too.
You gonna do it all in 220?
Yeah you know, 220, 221. Whatever it takes.
I still quote that today. No one knows what I'm quoting but you got to keep such a great line alive for anyone that might hear.
Don't forget the 38 - 39 - whatever it takes
My son born in 70's, loved this movie and was a Stay At Home Dad!!!👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
Wow, haven’t seen this in forever, I remember it being so funny
Micheal Keaton is Batman in the 1989 movie also he is in the Dream Team which is hilarious
The Money Pit (1986) with Tom Hanks is another '80's classic.
Did you recognize Christopher Lloyd (Doc Brown from Back to the Future) as one of his coworkers at the beginning?
I absolutely roared when I first watched this movie. Michael Keaton ( Beatleguise) has such incredible comic delivery. I loved how it took on women's liberation a bit. We were entering into that time when women were entering the executive world. Even though it was still so far away this movie made fun of it in a way that looked at both male and female roles in a hilarious way. The scene with the chain saw was hilarious. The vacuum and the diaper had me in stitches. In the end they came to appreciate each other's roles. Canadian Grandma Lori. C
He's also in "Johnny Dangerously" with the yummy Marilu Henner.
Did you not recognize Christopher Lloyd?
Kenny Butler was played by Taliesen Jaffe, who is one of the cast of the popular "Critical Role" channel on Twitch /UA-cam.
I'm so used to seeing Ann Jillian with blonde hair going back as far as the sitcom, "It's a Living".
30:37 Hollywood invented "silencers".
They don't exist in real life.
There does exist "suppressors" that lower the decibels for safer hearing, but they are still loud.
I work in a hotel engineering/maintenance for 3 hotels and most of the crew are 20-35 y/o range. Anytime they ask a question that they should know after I answer their question... As I walk away I say 220 or 221 whatever it takes and I chuckle to myself. Knowing they have no clue what I'm talking about....It's a good stress reliever.
The guy driving the car at the beginning of the movie is Jeffery Tambor. He played the father in law in the movie The Hangover. And the guy playing Larry is Christopher Llyod (Doc Brown from Back To The Future).
Great reaction! My life with Michael keaton and Nicole kidman is a great movie. Tissues are needed for most of the movie! Nobody on UA-cam has reacted to it yet. 😢
Yes that was such a good movie. Tissues are a must.
Brutal on the tears
Teri Garr was on the mind on many a young lad.
A good Michael Keaton movie is “American Assassin”. A dark and gritty thriller.
Also "Pacific Heights," "Clean & Sober," and the RomCom "Touch & Go."
So is White Noise and Dope Sick
When my husband retired several years before me he had to learn to run the house. Initially he was not happy but then learned to be better than me. I so love him for that!
It's about time! This is a classic! 😁👍
This Gen-Xer remembers seeing the original trailer in the movie theatre; it involved Keaton talking to the camera, (fourth wall) telling the audience the gist of the story, and how he's 'got this', but not using that terminology at the time. 😉
YES! So glad you watched this. One of my all-time favorite movies. Michael Keaton is the best!
Mr. Mom =
Michael Keaton!!
a young
1. Beetlejuice
2.Batman
Classic ! Amber and Jay check out the other classic 80s comedy with Michael Keaton called Gung Ho
Doc Brown from Back to the future was in the backseat on the way to work.
I love Mr Mom ! I can recall a hard day that I had watching over my then 1 year old son, I was fixing him lunch, I heated up one of those Gerber meal tubs of Frank and beans and I put oj in his sippy cup. But I didn't delude the juice with water just gave my 1 year old son orange juice straight from concentrate. Oh boy did I pay the price for that mistake after lunch, I took him outside to play on the swing set a little bit before his nap time and that is when I noticed his lunch went through his body and drenched his Pamper like a bullet train and was running down his fat chubby baby leg. I rushed him to the bathroom at breakneck speed and I had to give him an unscheduled bath cuz of my dumb mistake of not deluding his juice in his sippy cup. That was a one time thing and never happened again. I let him play in the tub to make up for not being able to play in the yard. I got him out of the bath. Dried him off, put a clean Pamper and diaper shirt on him, and laid him down for his afternoon nap. Luckily for me the bath tucked Tony out. I put Lion King on the DVD for him to watch in bed and it didn't take long for him to konk out. I cleaned up the mess I had made rushing the baby from the back glass door to the hallway bathroom. I just wanted to share that experience with you guys, I can look back at the moment then now and laugh about it, but not at the time it happened I couldn't. It was just one of those kind of things. I was a first time daddy back then trying to figure out despite my learning disability how to rear a baby that happened to be my own kid then. I honestly don't think I would have been able to handle 3 kids much less 1 kid. 1 kid for someone like me was too much for me. I have mad respect for both of you two guys dealing with your own kids. I couldn't wait for my kid to grow out of the Pamper stage and potty trained already, it wore on my nerves, but I got through it Luckily and survived babyhood. I am getting a vasectomy so I don't have to make anymore babies I have to raise again by myself. I love kids but I don't have the nerves anymore to be a daddy again. 1 time was enough for me.
You sound just like my younger brother (37) wants a vasectomy too
He had a baby who died at 6 months old
Now has a son 9 years old
He wants zero more
I think more and more young men and men should do it until they are emotionally, mentally, psychologically, physically and financially ready with a healthy partner although nothing is promised and perfect in this life
Funny enough to the kid who played Kenny "blanket son" is a voice actor for Vox Machina, a founding member of Critical Role & a voice actor for several video games.
One of my favorite movies when I was a teenager.
This is going to be so much fun! Settles in with my drink and a blankie!
Great John Hughes classic
Kenny (the kid with the woobie) was played by Taliesin Jaffee, who now does writing & voice acting for anime & video games (where you've probably heard him without realizing it), but he is best known for being one of the actors who make up Critical Role.
Will suggest 3 O'Clock High. Underrated and hilarious comedy!
Michael Keaton also… the original Batman, Beetlejuice and so many more good pictures he has done. BEETLEJUICE BEETLEJUICE is due for release in September. Watch the first movie it is a ride and then watch the teaser trailer just released. He is maniacal in the role, my favorite next to Batman. Bothe directed by Tim Burton. ❤
35:03 angel hair pasta. 🍝 it was the latest thing in the 80s. I was invited to a dinner party and my friend served it.🤣
Fun fact...Teri Garr used to be an extra (dancer) in several Elvis movies. She is seen best in Viva Las Vegas.
I used to watch the Young & The Restless when I was in high school back in the 80s. I got my parents watching it and then I stopped and they still watch it to this day and those characters, Nikki and Victor, are still on it! lol. I love this movie.
I love this movie. For a certain generation, "220/221, whatever it takes" is a classic. Among my friends, if chili is served or comes up in conversation, we always say, "You fed a baby chili?"
The Summer of 1984 My cousin Gilbert and Myself would hangout together. If we didn't go out we'd watch HBO...we watched Mr. Mom and Risky Business everytime it was aired that Summer lol
This movie has a special place in my heart as Gilbert passed away 2 years ago and this reminds me of our times of that Summer before our junior year in high school. Fun movie and some great fun times. RIP Gil.
Thanks for reacting to this movie.
I am like Jay, I would have gone for the win at the company party lol
Not sure how well it has aged, but I remember "Multiplicity" being another fun early Michael Keaton movie.
Also, FWIW, that was an old vacuum for the era, but they lasted a long time ... made of solid components that could be repaired. Same with the TV. Things are designed now so they won't last and can't be repaired. As for the food you didn't recognize, that was crispy rice noodles. Delish, but it needs to be with something saucy and flavorful, otherwise it's like eating fiberglass.
Keaton was one of the Batmans and was The Vulture in Spider-man Homecoming, and starred in Beetlejuice! One of his co-workers was the professor in Back To The Future. The wife, Teri Garr was in Close Encounters, Oh God (with John Denver), and Tootsie, among others!! Great movie!
If you want to see Michael Keaton as a sociopath, watch Pacific Heights with Matthew Modine and Melanie Griffith, and then watch Melanie in Working Girl with Harrison Ford.
Fyi ... Michael keaton was "Beetlejuice"
Kramer vs Kramer is a touching movie about a dad and son ❤
One of the children, Kenny, is played by Taliesin Jaffe, who also appeared in Explorers with Ethan Hawke and River Phoenix, retired from child acting and went on to be a voice actor in several animes, cartoons and video games; he voiced The Flash in the Injustice games, Blanka in Street Fighter 4 and 5, and is a member of Critical Role, the DND actual play series where he plays several main characters, as well as the cartoon Legend of Vox Machina which is based on campaign 1 of CR; he plays Percival de Rolo, Mollymauk Tealeaf, Caduceus Clay and Ashton Greymoore, and is easily one of my favourites from that group for his command of characterisation and gameplay
Terry Garr was in Young Frankenstein. Cool movie here you two.
And a different take on Mr Mom is Mrs Doubtfire with Robin Williams.
Michael Keaton is such a great actor. I'm so glad you guys had fun with this one! If you guys ever wanted to explore more from him a GREAT one is The Dream Team.
Michael Keaton also worked with Henry Winkler in the movie Night Shift.
This movie will definitely make you laugh 😂😂hope you enjoy!
“South to drop off, north to pick up” 😅😅
Michael Keaton is a familiar name? Dang, it’s Batman! And Beetleguise! And a host of others, check out Gung Ho with him, it’s one of those quirky wonders.
You found my very favorite movie of the 80s!! Michael Keaton and Teri Garr both amazing
'80's King of Comedy John Hughes wrote another one I've never seen before this. Another mostly forgotten National Lampoon college romp. But then he wrote this hit, & after "Vacation", before he got behind the camera for classics like "Sixteen Candles", " The Breakfast Club", "Uncle Buck", & later "Home Alone" to name a few, if didn't know? This a rare reaction to my introduction to Hughes in theater at 12 yro. I was blessed. Appreciate it!
See ya!
✌️🌎❤️
Michael Keaton was the first BATMAN in movie!!
Won Oscar for comeback film "BIRDMAN"
HILARIOUS in "NIGHT SHIFT&😂😂😂😂😅😅😄😆
