It's like (for me) her music is a deep emotional examination and dive into some of the darkest parts of the human psyche. It makes you think with your feelings. I don't know maybe this is all me rambling but for me her music has taken me to mental spaces that I would never have been able to achieve without her music. Exploring darkness is scary and unpleasant but with a Chelsea as a guide it makes it easier because she makes it endows it with beauty. It obviously drags me down a lot (music like hers) but in the moment that is what I want. I always feel like I learn more about myself, even if just a little bit. For me that doesn't always happen after listening once but after hearing it a bit and exploring it with my emotions. Important to note; I don't listen to her music and consciously try and learn something or feel something as my goal. It just sort of happens... I guess subconsciously IDK. She is defiantly special. Wow this was so long lol I honestly just started rambling about one of my favorite artists! lol I'll shut up now. I love you Chels! Sorry this is so long I get lost in my thoughts on bars lol xoxo
This has also been my number one favorite song by her. Purely for the lyrics and I feel like in this song she doesn't sound human but a mysterious goddess of the dark who passes through your soul
That’s deep man! 😁. Sorry, I couldn’t help but rib you a bit; but you’re right. Chelsea’s music is emotionally powerful; no matter what genre she’s playing. Amazing stuff.
This is why i love darker music, its more thought provoking and mystical, although i can reach similar mental spaces with music like the albums When it Falls and Simple Things by Zero 7 or heavy music like Vagabond by Vildhjarta, something about the emotional experience with music puts me in a trance i cant reach with anything else that i know of
I read that her childhood was very strange, perhaps its reflected in her music videos. she was part of some sleep experiments, and her family has some dark secrets she speaks about to Revolver Magazine. its good to see how she copes with trauma, creating music out her experiences. Almost is if this her purpose, to write songs directed to people who had a really dark upbringing.
Same for me except that her music is not emotionally dragging me down, which makes it so special for me because other music in that style does affect me and drags my emotion to a lower level but from the first time I heard her it felt like that is the deepest part in me that is connecting me to my soul to my ancestry and to my true self without question... It's the part that lays hidden deep but that is so essential.
This song is magic. There isn't a single track in which Ms. Wolfe composes that sounds the same. Like a snowflake, each one is different and casts a spell to the listener.
I awoke in a dream An evil one, a setting sun I licked your hatred You set me free In summer, in the boiling blood Oh baby, I'll carry your disease That darkness that lives inside you deep Oh honey, I'll put up a fight with death He's never coming near my love again All the world moves inside my baby, I see it there Rows and rows, mouths of fjords - I swim in them in my dreams Oh baby, I'll carry your disease That darkness that lives inside you deep Oh honey, I'll put up a fight with death He's never coming near my love again Oh baby, I'll carry your disease That darkness that lives inside you deep Oh honey, I'll put up a fight with death He's never coming near my love again He's never coming near my love again He's never coming near my love again
Such a dark and haunting song. This lady is such a talent to the world, seriously underrated. it is people like her who should dominate the music charts people with actual talent.
I honestly don't think I've ever had an artist combine influences from more bands I like before. In her stuff you can hear influences from Joy Division, Alice in Chains, Nine Inch Nails; these are my favourite bands. She even likes Townes Van Zandt! No wonder her music is so awesome.
I first heard this song at 3AM during a hypomanic episode... I had finally collapsed to sleep after being up for days, and this must have been the endpoint of UA-cam's algorithm juxtaposed with my indicated preferences. The guitar stirred me from my slumber... In the haze, I hear her voice. Her words... I was paralyzed and dissociated. The essence and intent enveloped me and I felt more seen that I ever felt in my life. This song conveys so much. It is something I will carry with me forever.
Every time she does something new I say to myself she keeps getting better. At this point it's like... Everything she does makes the hairs on my neck stand up.
I listen to many music genres and especially extreme metal but nothing can be compared to her in any way.. that voice, those lyrics, the melodies… I love this woman so much
+Joseph Smith The Grime and The Glow was really raw. There's a couple of tracks that are solid, but her band definitely got better. Apokalypsis is my favorite work from Chelsea.
Anyone else get some unnatural comfort from her music. Like a siren ..she could coax your self destruction out of you. You'd willingly crash against the rocks type deal. Just me?
I know views aren't everything, but the fact this beautiful, talented woman and her amazing band aren't breaking the internet every time they post a new song is one of the many examples of proof there's no god.
Crazy love won't you take me down? I'm so tired. I'm so tired. It's not you I fear, you washed me clean like no one ever could. Crazy love, i know You've been waiting in the silence. You've been on fire. I'll go to you in paths of dreams--I'm headed straight for the blaze. But I can breathe when I'm underwater. I'll be ready, waiting to run-Pressing for the river and the rain. Nothing will keep us apart. I'm not afraid of you, and your ancient anger
She's an amazing singer, her voice is beautiful. Her videos are creepy, but very good and unique. I just discovered her and she is my favorite singer now, gonna buy all her albums. I love her music, it's just beautiful and amazing!
@@anxietycelery1732 it's not even about her. It's about me. I can't seem to like people that are uniformly and massively revered. Its like i have a rebel spirir😂
@@Peighter are you a "hipster"? 😬 😛 Not judging btw. I kind of get you too. But loving only artists who aren't big seems like it hides some sort of insecurity and it's silly. +Stuart Ayers For sure! She even said in the interview that she would love to tour with NIN as a support. Plus check out the sound of keys at the end of "Maw", pure Reznor vibe.
MikeyFADE I've heard it. It's really not that bad. The lyrics are quite cringey though I'll agree. But she was working with people that were pushing her in that direction, so it wasn't entirely her. I still enjoyed the album regardless. It was cool to hear her in a different context.
wow - just listened to the EP of this today - first time - my new favourite CW track - love it... sometimes she's at her best with 6 nylon strings... but love the background atmospherics too... I can hear a slight God Speed You BE influence here, not saying it's plagiarism - I like it!

So unbelievebly true. I love it.
Janet Craft Ms Wolfe getting all posh here are we.
I know this comment has been posted a long time ago but I haven't seen a better way to describe her music.
I awoke in a dream
An evil one, a setting sun
I licked your hatred
You set me free
In summer, in the boiling blood
Oh baby, I'll carry your disease
That darkness that lives inside you deep
Oh honey, I'll put up a fight with death
He's never coming near my love again
All the world moves inside my baby,
I see it there
Rows and rows, mouths of fjords -
I swim in them in my dreams
Oh baby, I'll carry your disease
That darkness that lives inside you deep
Oh honey, I'll put up a fight with death
He's never coming near my love again
Oh baby, I'll carry your disease
That darkness that lives inside you deep

Chelsea Wolfe is a treasure
Every time she does something new I say to myself she keeps getting better. At this point it's like... Everything she does makes the hairs on my neck stand up.
+thegrimyeaper i relate!
Totally. Chelsea only improves in time.
I listen to many music genres and especially extreme metal but nothing can be compared to her in any way.. that voice, those lyrics, the melodies… I love this woman so much
This song is so deep. She's such am amazing artist. Pure magic.
I stumbled upon this woman today and I’ve already listened to this more than once. Something about her voice draws me in like a Siren.
That dark early doom folk stuff that made me love Chelsea is back. She keeps putting out stellar music. Nice work Chelsea!
This song goes so well with Nick being in the house!
Kwabena Yeboah exactly Dark mysterious heart racing not knowing what’s going to happen
Keep doing what you 're doing Chelsea. Much love.
She keeps outdoing herself, and yet her older music is still innovative and fresh ❤️
+Joseph Smith The Grime and The Glow was really raw. There's a couple of tracks that are solid, but her band definitely got better. Apokalypsis is my favorite work from Chelsea.

Daniel Huber only difference is her music nurture and nourish you instead of destroying you.
Daniel Huber no yep....crashing with you
Anybody else get a kind of uncomfortable arousal from her music?
Pro tip: It's NEVER just you

I saw her live in london the other day. Shes so talented i love her so much
got that chorus stuck in my head

what is this from? :o
It's a mix of lyrics from Chelsea songs. Crazy love, Maw, Iron Moon, After the Fall
She's an amazing singer, her voice is beautiful. Her videos are creepy, but very good and unique. I just discovered her and she is my favorite singer now, gonna buy all her albums. I love her music, it's just beautiful and amazing!
This song makes me imagine that I swim on a starfill diluted black sea. Beautiful.
Yes ♥️
reminds me of Vashti Bunyan ( 60s folk singer)
fragile voice on strong rhythm. melancholic. nice!
got to buy the Abyss Album...
Прослушивая раз за разом эту песню, наполняешься глубиной эмоций и чувств. Всё разрушается, отложившись в памяти и вновь создается новое
Let's see how many times I can listen to this song until my brain hates me.
Because I'm in. love. wow.
josh who? I need last names lol.
+purefault awesome! yeah, I didn't delete you from my fb, I just got rid of it for a while.
Hey..this is a stretch but, do you still use your google plus? I have a mystery album question, and I want to add you to my circles or whatevs. :]
starbuck sc Do you remember me?? 😊
I can put it on repeat for hours. Same with Fight Like Gods.
she just enchants me with everything that she does
This lady is a genius! just love the lyrics, so dark and haunting, the song is palpably beautiful and eerie
i can die now, thank you Chelsea, always in my heart.
Joff but if you die you cannot hear new Chelsea wolfe
Very enchanting, and those lyrics make me gobsmacked. The music video in black and white with Chelsea accompanied by this snake is also fitting. :-)
this has touched my heart...this is love
Haunting and lovely!
Beautiful song.
so good it hurts...
UNDERRATED!!! this is so dark and sounds so amazing!!!!
So beautiful
Long time without listen to something that makes me feel alive like this...
This gave me a major eargasm, oh my god. I'm so in love with Chelsea's content.
Wow!! She's an amazing singer, a deep energy
So magical!
the fosters brought me here! season 4 episode 1. Craziest episode so far.
Ashley G. That’s why I’m her too. This song is so oddly hypnotic.
Same I was like what’s this song, also the episode was crazy
YES
Watching The Fosters for the first time and had to come find this song
Amazing episode of The Fosters with an amazing song.
I'm glad she's not bigger. people would idolize her and make her boring and non human. I hear her. I feel her. I appreciate her.
I don't even know how I feel about this
Wait a sec, thought this was on The Cardigans - Love Fool
About Chelsea Wolfe: eh, the same
I doubt she would let fans influence her style.

what a beautiful song
Its been on repeat for like 2 hours now
I'm realizing that I hear a bit of Trent Reznor in Chelsea's music, especially like The Downward Spiral type stuff.
+Stuart Ayers For sure! She even said in the interview that she would love to tour with NIN as a support. Plus check out the sound of keys at the end of "Maw", pure Reznor vibe.
Oh wow yeah, hadn't really noticed those before. Good stuff
+Stuart Ayers The title track from Abyss (especially its outro) is also very reminiscent of NiN's La Mer from The Fragile. Both amazing tracks
and Sunn O))) as well, lots of doom metal hints as well and she loves black metal, she is wonderful
Yes, I also hear Radiohead and Portishead. In a gothic doom style. That's how you steal my heart.
Sounding amazing in April of 2023
beautiful
Magical song
she gives me chills
the queen.
Visually and sonically impeccable
eerily beautiful
Just when you think it can't get any more twisted and beautiful.
Can't stop listening to this song. Absolutely haunted...I'll never forget seeing her play at The Stanley Hotel.
I'd like to see Chelsea Wolfe collaborate one day with Chino from Deftones
Fuck yes!!
Fran Lovel Šimić
She should collab with Myrkur
CD Connelly she's featured twice on Myrkur's upcoming album
Fantastic!
Hauntingly beautiful
I have it on repeat rn cant get enough of it quite chilling
Pure poetry in motion
Pretty fucking astounding that she hasn't released a single bad song. Everything she does is gold.
+Napalm Sticks To Kids look up Mistake in Parting. Cringey as fuck and even she hates it.
