I just saw her live for the very first time last night and the setlist was a dream come true. When she started this intro the screams were deafening. I want to go again already.
Me too, in Boston! 🖤 I feel the same way about the setlist, she sang songs I didn't expect to hear (but was hoping to)...to hear that voice of hers live is pure magic, and everyone was under her spell. I've never been to a show where everyone was just standing there listening and watching, and I'll never forget it. Some would think that sounds boring but you'd have to be there and hear her, feel her presence. Not boring at all.

Chelsea is brilliant. Her songs feel like a soundtrack, the lyrics are perfect, she's both dark and beautiful and the video is like watching a disturbing memory... what else can you ask for?
Absolutely. She is masterful at blending genres & her voice is so unique in that it's sweet & delicate but also dark & menacing at the same time. She has excellent control over her voice as well, and I love how she can switch from light to dark in an instant (Iron Moon" for example.) Truly one of the best artists out right now.

My interpretation of this is that she is expelling something negative from herself through a ritual and the black liquid and the hair are the embodiment of that negative element

Yep! That was my fav part, especially the end shot right before "THE CULLING" spelled out in hair, where she's on the floor & starts to look up & it cuts away right before she makes direct eye contact with the camera - ugh, masterfully shot. And you can tell she has a hand in all her videos/photo shoots. I wouldn't be surprised if she co-directed them. Goddess!

I think that part represent the corpse in the sarcophagus, you see all the hair ground twisted and the blood with tissue going out... It's a beautiful representation of something painfully to think about the dead people that I love.

Roll your eyes & call me hipster all you want, but I'm glad that Chelsea isn't mainstream. She's certainly a talented enough songwriter/artist to do so if she wanted to, but trying to appeal to mass audiences almost always changes the direction of an artist's image & their art, usually for the worst. And to those who lament that she allowed her songs to be featured on Game Of Thrones & few feature films, NO, she isn't "selling out" bc those songs were not written FOR those films/shows, they were already recorded for her albums; it's not her fault she makes such killer tunes that big shot producers want her art in their work. ;) She's never compromised her art in order to make more money. She's always kept half her foot in the "underground" scene no matter how in-demand she got - and she's able to do that bc her work is *so fucking good* that she's amassed a fawning & extremely dedicated fan base that, with our continued support, allows her to keep doing what she loves, and do it HER way, without compromise, without having to appease record execs & the like. So BUY her albums, BUY tickets to her shows (if you can afford to, that is.) That way she can stay ours (not to say we or anyone else owns her - you guys know what I mean.) She's our little dark Goddess, and I'm (we're?) protective as hell over her being able to stay true to whatever it is she wants to do. [Yeah... This comment got out of control real quick lol - kinda all over the place. Hopefully you guys get what I was trying to say here.]

Believe it or not there was a time when my friends and I felt that way about Def Leppard before they became staples of MTV. High and Dry was our album, then they got famous and all the mainstream people that liked bands such as Madonna and REO Speedwagon took them away from us.. I feel the same way about Katatonia right now. It's nice to see them getting some well deserved recognition but it takes something away from us people that supported them all along.
