*CORRECTION!* The individual cylinder volume for TFG is 666.7cc, NOT 66.67cc as shown in the video. Same for the V8, 625cc, not 62.50cc. Oops! 🤦‍♂️Hope everyone's staying safe & social distancing!

This video will always be close to my heart. I remember I did a project in my Engineering days about VVT, VVD and VVL in a single system using pneumatic and electromagnetic actuators 8 years back. My professor degraded that project proposal saying it's practically non-feasible and this won't happen in a production car for at least next 20 years. Koenigsegg just proved a heady Ph.D wrong and I couldn't be happier.

Since this was only meant for performance cars and had no place in mass market cars, the prof would have rejected it. So effective m/s in that case is lower// Calculated 23,85 m/s So very impressive. State of the art tech indeed. F1 are efficiency driven by rulebook and manufacturers will not go to max RPM beacuse that is wasted energy for to much material wear and less MPGs.

I used to own a Volvo T5 and that engine was amazing in multiple ways. The sound of the 5cyl was incredible. But they disappeared...When the area of boring 4cyl came, I was hoping a 3cyl hybrid would come back, for its noise. In Japan I’ve tried many 80’s mini sports cars and they were so much fun to drive. They sounded good but too small, underpowered and from another area. So thank you Mr. Koenigsegg! Future is electric ok, but engine = mechanic, engineering, maintenance, car philosophy, etc. Thank you for keeping fighting!

First for the single cylinder 450cc motocross machines. Then parallel twin applications. Think of the compact dimensions allowing for much greater capacities in a much smaller area. Either will much greater over or under square bore to stroke ratios with natural or forced induction. WOW.
