My car is making like a clanking noise like loose metal when I press on the accelerator but stops when I let off but sounds like it’s coming from the differential
+Manuel Torres Thanks for checking us out! We do not have those specifications available. You may want to try looking in a Haynes Repair manual as that information should be provided.
According to the owner's manual, automatic uses 75w-90 differential fluid without limited slip while manual uses the same fluid with limited slip and friction modifier. The process should be the same.
Question. I am trying to do better at maintaining my vehicle. I have a 2005 Silverado. I bought it at 121,000 miles and now have 176,000 and never changed the Diff. Fluid since I had it. Is it safe to change it now or should I leave it alone since it hasn’t been maintained?
No I'd change it it's not a transmission but first check to see if it's a little red, a little red ok black and burnt with sounds clunking bad changing the oil won't do anything you need to get it checked by a mechanic go to more than one
+Brian Morris Thanks for checking us out! This vehicle is from New England so there is heavy snow and salt which unfortunately causes all this nasty rust. 1aauto.com

Can you say what the mileage was when you did this diff service and found the seal leak?
Does this apply for the automatic version as well ?
I think you need to use the vin number to find what type of differential you use

Do you know the torque specs for the cover/case of the differential? The backside of it, where the 10 bolts go?

0.95 quartz, so one bottle is enough?
How to know , if vehicle has limited differential slip ??...
It's probably in the VIN # but I was under the impression all Camaros have LSDs. I could be wrong

@@1AAuto oh ok, yea that's pretty bad, I live in California so under my camaro still looks like it rolled of the assembly line.
+Brian Morris Must be a nice thing to have!
