Are you worried about the state of Gray Zone Warfare or the direction the game is headed in? Have I got some good news for you.
I attended a behind-closed-doors meeting with the company’s CEO for a sneak peek at the game’s day-night cycle, full roadmap and more. What I saw was game-changing.
If they deliver the features and mechanics detailed in their roadmap, GZW might become the ultimate FPS.

It’s amazing to hear about the work and development going into this game. My buddy recommended it to me and I’ve been hooked on it since. Most of the time I struggle finding videos on this level but I’m glad I stumbled across this. The community is unique as I find more players willing to work together and help each other regardless of faction, rank, or gear(mostly PvE). In Warfare, well…. just watch your back. But Thank you for being the eyes and ears for us as this game goes through development and testing, it’s nice to see what is in store for us. I keep track of some of the bugs I encounter from time to time, is there a way to relay that information to developers?

The AI should have been good from the start and now that they have 40+ million from sales, they should be hiring more people to code and test the game and it really is that simple. Early access is about refining, not players testing if the game works or not.
Yeah, at this point, I wish my friend would stop suggesting games. Between Gray Zone, Tarkov, Satisfactory, and Quasimorph, I can't handle anymore "videogame crack".

@@FPSBoomer I got one more for you. I see other games do a similar wipe concept, but in most cases its like a new season but you keep some gear. Is there any benefits to the wipe for us players or is it a genuine start from scratch. I wasn’t around during the last wipe. Could you explain this a little more?
They should add other extraction types than just a Little Bird flying in. A convoy extract, boat extract, single vehicle extract. AI driven and non AI driven. Up armored vics, un armored pickups, atv type vehicle or like a Polaris Razr, dingy, Rhib. Heavier duty extracts with money and reputation, and that includes bigger airborne extracts. Bigger aircraft.
I love this idea and have asked them directly if it’s something they plan in doing.
Outstanding information Boomer! My hope with this next update is we get a few more things to loot. With the current state of all loot having no “value” it’s only going to be PvP focused which isn’t a bad thing but could turn players that like to build wealth away for longer. However, I can’t wait to see the sunset over Lemang!

@@tucco2097 Yep. I think about halfway through the video I detail a big upgrade to loot. They want to instill gear fear and part of that is finding great loot that you have to stress about to return to base with. They details more loot, better loot and "treasure," which I interpreted as high-tier loot.

Really excited for the dragging feature, secondaries will now be used more often if they allow us to use pistols while dragging, but im still sad that it's gonna be another 1 year wait, andb2 years for the actual storyline, but day night cycle will be fun i guess
Lots to come and glad this information was able to be shared, nobody like to be left in the dark about topics they have interest in. Didn’t hear anything about cosmetics or weapon skins, I know this ain’t call of duty but the cosmetics don’t have to look like something out of a gumball machine either. The faction patches sound cool and night raids are going to be awesome as well. Looking forward to this for sure.
They also should take notes from Ghost Recon Breakpoint in regards to weapon degrading...
We don't want a Breath of the Wild system....
I'm not familiar with the BotW system. The one they showed off in their demo to us looked good and realistic, though.

That sounds really fantastic. I also have no doubts about the team's potential. We just have to hope that the players and the financial resources will support this roadmap. I think a monster FPS could really be created here! Great content and best wishes to the team! ... And by the way ... I'm almost happier about the inventory filter function than about the day and night changes.
Lots of good info. Good to hear that they are changing the AI behavior. Getting one tapped from out of no where was getting really old. Can't wait for the next update. I have over 350 hours in the game. I ran out of things to do so I am giving away my stuff to new players.

Love how the updates every 6 months was broken down into section that made sense for the consumer/player.
Night sounds GREAT. Hoping the ambience really sets in w/ it as described. Being able to shoot lights sounds dope. Reminds me of my splinter cell days.
Weapon & armor repair will make gear be more valuable. Looking forward to this for sure. Need to feel like I have a reason to do things rather than “just questing”.
Heli changes are great. Glad they are improving upon what’s already present as I like the system & having to wait… just not for a LONG time lol.
Weather is going to be sick. Glad it actually affects the map & the player rather than just being cosmetic.
Rogue faction sounds cool. Can’t wait for a more in depth dive on what this means & will be.
Skills sound great. Having a character that develops according to your play style & not feel like you HAVE to deviate from your play style to progress will be nice.

Updates seem few and far between. Are the new features for each update spread out over time or do they release as one update? Could run the risk of grounding out if players are waiting a year for new content, especially when the market for these games is hotter than it has ever been. If the updates are compelling enough then maybe it will be okay but that remains to be seen.
We will have to see but it’ll become basically a new game twice a year and it’ll probably bring a lot of players back each time and keep them playing for longer each time with all the new content.
arena breakout ,tarkov ,delta force, cod works really good on my system i installed this one can't even move in low settings while cod runs on high and the rest on medium really smooth...
They've got some optimization work to do for sure.
Can't wait for the new update. I stopped playing after 90hours, but I got my monies worth, I really enjoyed it and want to hop back on. But the Tasks/Quests become beyond stupid and I was not in for this. However, I can really imagine hopping back on again and do some cool stuff all over again, with new items, guns and mechanics.

@@Eagle-ci9dr Yeah. They've got some optimization work to do, no doubt. I feel you. I'm on a lowly 3070 and experience it too. I can get 110ish frames on FSR but it looks grainy. I get 60-70 on DLSS and it seems to perform more steadily.
Love the idea that weather could close an LZ, like a flooded rice field. But I would still like a squad greater than four and either dedicated helo’s to support that team or the ability to call in a chinook when I’m on a server with 10 buddies.
@@joeclaymore that would be cool. Faction chat should help groups of bigger than 4 and that’s coming soon.

I'm on and off the game at the moment. Still really enjoy it regardless of the AI. I'm glad they're going to stick with it and make it much better.
That's awesome. They have a ton of work to do, but I think our patience will be rewarded.
My biggest complaint is that the movement feels way too stiff, its like playing as a static camera on a flat surface.
Interesting. Maybe I got used to the movement but I felt it was pretty solid. I'd like for stamina to last longer, though.
One thing I wish would improve in the next patch is how your fps is cut in half when you scope in. I wish it was more like tarkov where you dont get any fps impact from scoping in and it feels really smooth

You are beyond delusional if you think Tarkov's scopes don't cut frame rate in half. That's literally been one of the biggest complaints with the game.

Yes, no doubt. The Blue Lagoon Restaurant Storage Room key being the most important, I think. I talked to the devs and they are aware of the key spawn rates and fixes are coming.
Moving forward. Do you know how MFG might deal with hackers and cheaters in the game?
They haven't detailed much about their anti-cheat efforts because they don't want cheat companies to know about their measures. But they do have an anti-cheat and they use machine learning to bolster those efforts. In all my time in the game (I think 130+ hours) I only once ran into a person who I suspected might be cheating, but without a kill cam I couldn't be sure.
they have a bunch of SF dude as advisors. perhaps they can do some wet work on the side ;)
Report hackers on the website they are rampant right now everyday I run into hackers no bs hitting headshots instantly shooting at you through walls and bushes and there aimbot is very accurate

I would like the camo mechanic that breakpoint has... cover yourself on mud when you are outnumbered on pvp, or just to ambush them.... would be epic!
I love this idea! Mara did say that when they bring in dynamic weather (rain, fog, etc.) that mud will be a gameplay feature. I wonder if they'll do that???
They can't fix the AI and you think they can do that? It's a mobile game dev, what they've already said it's too much for them 😂
@@cipsone3595 As they've said numerous times, they know what the fix is for the AI and a fix is coming in the next update.
They also need to fix how you can throw a grenade. There needs to be some way to adjust the throw such as a softer underhand toss. the current full-strength throw is not working well.

@@THZ_Hazzard Hey, Hazzard! It’s good to take a break sometimes. Games should be fun. I make the mistake of grinding games too much and that can burn you out.
This game is great - I'm on the last mission and have died a few times, but I will finish it! As is, I don't even really have any big issues with the game but any new content will be better. I would like AI to have super bases, guarded by hundreds of AI and heavy machine guns etc. It will then force us to team up in groups of +20 to take them on.

They are working on that sort of stuff and DLSS, FSR, optimization, etc. I would expect continued improvement to it all.
The one thing im spoiled by EFT is all the loot and stuff to pick up and either use or sell. I feel like this game is just too empty
Totally agree. But they're adding a bunch of loot in the upcoming update -- including high-tier loot.
I don't see the point of adding guns when there's only one gun working right now. How about armor, when are the planning on fixing that?
They didn't have much data to go on when they balanced guns and armor. But now that the game has been out a while, they can retool based on the analytics. Mara didn't specifically mention this so I'm saying this generally: I would expect guns and armor to be continually balanced. I would assume some of that work will be included in the update later this year.

I bought it on launch and I'm still unable to play it, with a ryzen 9 6900 hx and a rtx 3060
Sorry but my experience with PC gaming says they won’t optimize for build that are unplayable, at best they will give some 5 extra FPS for those beats builds
I have a Ryzen 5900 and 3070. On DLSS, I get about 60 FPS and with FSR I get about 110-120 FPS. Have you tried all the various settings configs to see what works best with your system? Is your Windows up-to-date? Are you on the latest NVIDIA drivers? You can also watch some YT videos about the Nvidia Control Panel to find the best settings there, as well.
Should of went with a 3xd model, I got the 57003xd and a 6750 xt and I get 120+ fps on epic lol.
Really hope they add machine guns, grenade launchers, and rocket launchers at some point

Glad to hear they have a plan but frankly besides the optimization the priority needs to be the helo deployment fixes. No one wants to spend 5 or 10 minutes per deployment waiting on helos. Simple improvements need to be happening NOW! My gaming time is limited and I've spent as much as 25% (at times) of it waiting on helos. This will continue to drive players away regardless of content drops!
1) the helo needs to disappear within 10 seconds after dropoff not fly to the edge of the map.
2) routes need to be more direct.
3) you need to be able to cancel a call for helo if you die or catch another ride.
4) If you call for extraction and a helo is on the way to your LZ it should pick you up!
5) Unlimited fuel. No reason for delays between helos of more than 10-20 seconds.
Heli wait time fixes are coming in the next update.

@@thorsmith59 We'll have to wait and see if their implementation works or not. I agree folks shouldn't have to wait a long time to get out in the field or back to base. Some of that wait adds tension (like a Tarkov extract timer) but too many people have to wait too long, and that kills immersion and wastes time. I'm with you. I think they'll figure it out, though.
So, what's the date for the first update?
They haven't released an exact date just yet other than later this year. Mara said by Christmas at the latest. My guess (and it's only a guess) is that we get it late October or sometime in November.

Yep. It's coming - once the PC version is done. But it'll be years away still.
I think if your gonna do the whole gun degradation thing do it right like only certain things go bad on guns like barrels are about it and they can do gas tubes and bolts on AR’s but barrels should have at least a 25,000 round count before the first sign of degradation or maybe implement a cleaning kit that ya use from time to time at the base camp and then still have the 25,000 round count on the barrel. Plz don’t make this game a hassle to play.

I really hope they also add the ability to extract via vehicle or get to a mission via driving instead of us only taking a bird.
I've put in that request, too. Would love that. They say there are no current plans for "human-controlled" ground vehicles but that kind of opens the door for AI-controlled ground vehicles. That's my take on that, though, and not based on anything they've said directly.

@@TactiMerc The choppers are AI-controlled. Kinda the same concept. But I would also love vehicles we could drive: quads or boats, even motorcycles, would be awesome.
@@FPSBoomer Right. Enemy AI driving vehicles as a use of combat tho might be scary considering their AI now lol. Would be cool though to have boats, vehicles, etc tho
@@TactiMerc I hope they change course and give each faction some vehicles to drive. They said “no” but who knows. Would be fun to explore the map that way and infil from other angles. That said, they plan to add loot and treasure and POIs across the map that you might miss if you aren’t on foot.
the concept is great, i played for 20 hours but could not find it in me to play with the horrible performance. Hopefully they really nail the optimization because id love to return.

Day/night should be the least of their worries.
Day/night is only one of several new features and mechanics they're dropping in the next update.

I had the info when the others did. But a few days after that meeting, we had a massive storm where I live and it knocked out power for a week. So I couldn't make my video. When power returned, Delta Force dropped and then shortly after Arena Breakout. I didn't want to publish this video then because I didn't think it'd do well. So, I waited for Games Con. And here we are 👍
Being in Laos there should be wildlife here and there like jaguars and boars also hopefully they add night vision goggles

Dude I love this game as of right now, it’s a dayz replacement for me without the benefits of zombies and base building but that’s okay. I would bet by 2026 this game will be one of the hottest games on the market and I hope at some point they do end up putting in zombies and base building to create a survival. I know it’s not in their agenda due to servers not being able to be individually joined but that would be awesome. I cannot wait for this next update. This game is not getting old yet even though it is at its basic state. I’m so exited for the future of this game!!!

@@kelza7384 It’s permanent 😂 I was talking with a friend and I used the expression gamers use to detail that they dispatched of a fake video game opponent with one piece of ammunition and someone reported it. The system X uses relies on AI or they don’t read appeals. I know because I explained myself in multiple appeals - that the expression pertained to in-game actions and is used regularly in gaming when detailing how much ammunition a player used to erase a video game opponent - and even once just asked for a case number, and all I got was the same one paragraph default response. But it could be a blessing in disguise. I can just start “Tweeting” on UA-cam and grow here. Enough about me. How are you doing? Gaming again?

When you talk about shots heating up the barrel, what is affected: cook-offs, bullet velocity, heat mirage?
I'm not sure. Mara didn't specify. He just generally said that temperature will affect performance.
Most likely MOA. It's really the only variable they can rationally mess with.
I've been playing a lot of "early access" and alpha/beta games. The path from alpha/beta to full release usually takes more time and is more complicated than first anticipated. I've bought Grey Zone, but haven't installed it yet, simply because I'm tired of playing so many unfinished games. Watching some of the interviews from Madfinger Games gives me some confidence that this game will turn out pretty good if we give it time. At least it's not an AAA publisher pushing a game they claim is finished.
You might install it and give it a go. I got about 130 hours of entertainment from it already. And the upcoming update is going to add a lot of new gameplay.
@@FPSBoomer I have no doubt, but after years of playing games like star citizen, rust, Valheim, dayz, satisfactory, sea of thieves etc. from early development it might be nice to actually wait a bit 😅 also I'm looking to upgrade or build a new pc this winter. 1080TI still going strong, but it's time to get some new hardware

i dont understand why they add Day/night cycle before they fix heli waiting times and Ai shit..i mean the AI shoot through bushes without seeing me on day i can imagine how this will end at night. and i only download the game again if they found a solution for the waiting simulator problem
Day-night is just one piece of the update (the headliner for the update). They're also fixing heli wait times and AI in that same update + adding loot and high-tier loot, new POIs, new tools and guns + a bunch more. Should be good.
i swear i'm tired of people on steam forums: "GIB NEW CONTENT OR DEAD GAME YOU SCAM CANT PLAY THIS TRASH ANYWAYS" blablabla as if 6 months cycle was never announced or the game wasn't running on UE5 with all bells and whistles enabled.
I feel you. That's very common these days. On one hand I get it. As gamers we are spoiled these days. But, yeah, folks need to step back and remember this game is in pre-alpha, has only been in development for 2 years and has a small dev studio. The good news is they are really good people who seem to work extremely hard.
GZW has a good road map. I'll come back on first AI fix lol cause they do sux and I sux at M&K which equals bad times lol

I love this game, but for the live of God please fix the AI immediately. I am a single player (don't have many PC friends) most of the time. The Ai are brutal.

This game when it comes to graphics/ gunplay is far superior to tarkov. With that said, the only thing holding it back is the lack of content. Tarkov has been out longer so of course it has more content/ loot. Once grey zone gets more content, I can see it over taking tarkov.

When the game hits Version 1.0, they'll work on porting it to console. But that is still years out into the future.
Not sure how all the people who bought early access will wait until 2025 to get the final version 1.0. Until then we are already on other games. Very risky approach to give early access and expect eveRyone will wait until 2025/26

A friend gifted me the game a while ago. I did some reverse engineering two weeks ago and need to admit, the AI logic is one of the worst I have seen in a long while. Specially for 2024 its seriously bad. In some scenarios a random bot will always know where you are and heading from far away to your direction to hunt you down. Stuff like that is horrible. I like the concept, but sadly right now it is in a non playable state for me. It feels boring once you understood how the stuff works in the background. I hope for them to improve it in the future

The fact that they are serious about the wipes is so dumb. Leave it the way it is and let the individual choose to do so at their own pleasure.
I get where you're coming from and I don't totally understand this part, but I think these updates are so massive that they have to wipe given it'll basically be a new game. I could be wrong. But I'm hoping each new update will make the game so different (new loot, tasks, guns, POIs, weather, day-night, etc.) that it'll feel refreshing to regrind it. Kind of like in Tarkov.

As of right now, you are comparing apples to pears. Tarkov is closed beta, GZW is pre-alpha!
And yes, it would be normal to reset player-progress at the end of the alpha, because in the alpha content is added, in beta, bugs are fixed. It would be in the best interest of players and developers to reset the data so everything can be checked for bugs again, potentially multiple times, since every change to the code can create bugs somewhere else. All of that in the interest of creating a enjoyable experience, so sry, but no player decision is needed here lol.

Waited a long time for this one but very disappointed with what was released. I’ve no issue with early access but the aimbot AI and crashes should have been addressed before release.
I think they thought they had those issues fixed. But after release to a million-ish people, all who have different PC types and playstyles, issues were uncovered. But they're working on the fixes.

They're fixing AI. They know it needs work. And they're balancing all the systems now that they have player/game data to work from.
It seems like a really weird decision to add weapon durability and weapon repairing separate. In my opinion, they really should have those things released alongside one another, because otherwise you're just kind of punishing players for using their weapon, with the only solution being to spend money, versus having the option to field repair.
I had the same thought. But with a small team, I think they're forced to make tough decisions and they must not have had time to fit the repairing system in with 0.2.
@@FPSBoomer That's understandable, I don't know how complicated it would be to just delay weapon durability until 0.2. but if that's doable, that's what I would do if I were them. I feel that people wouldn't have a problem with that, as 0.1's main focus is going to be on the day/night cycle anyways.

I would love if they added ground vehicles and boats, even though they said there are no plans for "human controlled" ground vehicles. The way they worded that leaves it open to AI controlled ground vehicles maybe/hopefully.

Nothing against the creator but I’m getting so tired and frustrated with games coming out unfinished and basically holding the game for ransom via paywall. Like all the things in the “roadmap” sound nice but fuck don’t you think that stuff should’ve been added before any type of launch.
I feel you. If it had launched fully finished, I agree those features and more should be in the game. But it obviously launched pre-alpha. They were clear about the state of the game before launching it and had detailed it would take years to complete. It's a catch-22. You can purchase a fully finished game but many of those are made by deceptive AAA publishers. Or you can buy an unfinished game made by a smaller company. I think release pre-alpha helps these smaller companies by injecting cash into the process. Game dev is crazy expensive these days and we might not get any meaningful non-AAA games without the pre-finished release process.
I hope this game doesn't become a cash grab
For what it's worth: I'm not worried about this company. I've gotten to know some of them, and they are genuine people. They aren't selling microtransactions - and they're passionate about the project. I get it, though. It's good to be leery of companies in the gaming space.

Call me crazy….but no one will wait for 3 years just so they add 3 new guns…..pretty much the same ones that are already in the game and day and night cicle…they are way to slow…..on the next reset they will loose atleast 40% players more…..all that should be added in the next 3 months to keep the game alive

the game was basically abandoned by devs and players. its the same 1300 players playing everyday dying by one tap AI. they dropped from 900,000 players to 1300 in just 2 months. the game aint shit.
The highest concurrent player base was 70,000. They sold about a million copies. They expected concurrent player numbers to fall after the first launch. Numbers will pick up again with the next update and then the ones that come after.
Glad they are adding new weapons but most of them don't even work as it is. Lol. Fix shotguns and pistols and then we will talk.
