Words cannot describe the gratitude I feel towards Stewart Copeland. The soundtrack he created for the Spyro trilogy is not only timeless but also incomparable. As a child, I used to play these games and I still play them due to the memories I connect with them. Thank you, Mr. Copeland!
One of the finest percussionists alive today, a true master, fast, accurate and so versatile. The room is indicative of what's churning in the beatbox brain of his, a museum of his talent. If my son can play anywhere near this man, I'll die with a great fat smile on my face.
I am loving this guy more and more! Stewart is just the coolest guy. He's so animated and cheerful, happily showing his music room. I'm seeing a 16-year-old spirit in 60-year-old body. ☺️☺️☺️☺️And I love how Stewart refers to his father's trumpet, "my daddy's trumpet", not "my dad's", not "my father's". That's so sweet. His daddy would be so proud of him. ❤️❤️❤️❤️ God bless you, Stewart! Rock on, brother!!
I put this guys telephone in his house back in the 90's near High Wycombe he was pretty cool and just a normal dude I also got a coffee! .His next door neighbour (if you call 300 meters away neighbour) was Ian Anderson where I also installed a fax machine ,Mr. Anderson was also a gentleman !
Thank you Mr. Copeland for sharing your musical playground with the world. As a musician I am in awe and would love to play with all the instruments too!
Seems like a very gracious, good guy but I can also see how he and Sting may have clashed (if believing what is written). I, personally, enjoy the company of guys like Stewart 'cause I'm the complete opposite - they 'bring me out'. Imagine being stuck in an elevator with Stewart and Robin Williams, though....whoa.
The grove is MAGICAL, and I wanna come play. OMG. all those amazing instruments and their history. Love the story about his Dad. Choke up time. Amps for the Hard of hearing, LMFAO. That incredible Drum kit. Drool. I am so going to EBAY to check out stuff now. AWESOME!! Thanks for these videos. STEWART.
I can tell you from personal experience on the So Cal studio scene that Stewart doesn't have a mean bone in his body. He's just a thorough task master who is also so much fun to be around. And while The Police were a British band, Stewart is American. And as with Sting, Americans love nothing more than to deflate British pomposity (since 1776) and take them down the ego ladder a few steps. And that's what Stewart always did to Sting. And despite all that hype, they're still best friends.
patton303 sting and Stewart are most definitely not friends. They could barely stand one another back in the 80s and they barely made it through the recent tour they did.
Love him or hate him, he is a musical genius. Copeland is to The Police as Peart is to Rush or Lombardo is to Slayer. Wouldn't be the same without them.
Stewart Copeland’s like a schoolboy playing with his toys! His enthusiasm & character is like he’s still on stage playing with the police! Great guy! I used to practice my air drumming listening to my police cassette’s all those years ago in the early 80, then execute them when I used to play for a church band!
Holy cow. My grandfather had a Hammond C3 that he taught himself to play on. Same thing starting up. You didn’t just turn it on. Oh the memories hearing that organ...
4:41 "Tell me about this trumpet" "Oh this trumpet over here, this is my daddys trumpet" Pulls out a completely different trumpet out of his pocket. Gotta love Stewart. Lol 😂😂
You needn’t speak, sir. You, Mr. Stewart Copeland, are one of the all-time greats, a drummer with extraordinary chops, one of the best skin slappers that ever has been. Thank you, sir, for your impeccable work. Seriously. Wow, as in “I just heard Stewart Copeland play drums. Fookin’ WOW!”
Stewart Copeland's music sounds like nothing else. Trully unique! His stuff from the 80's sounds like a postmodern Gershwin. Hope there were more of his records arround.
I don't try nothing because I KNOW that I will get hooked. But I think I should start to smoke pot to cure insomnia and social anxiety, although the paranoia can make you even more prone to panic attacks? God damn why does it have to be so complicated....
+FeelingShred As long as you get high at home and not at a mall at xmas time you shouldn't get paranoid. Some people have an instrument fetish - me too.
Negative comments? REALLY? Stewart Copeland is an awesome drummer, awesome percussionist and seems to me to be a great guy. Been following his work since 70s and his later Rhythmatist era. Go and have a listen to ONE WORLD (not three) from Ghost In The Machine. His feel, and cool fills are EPIC. And for having to put up with the ego bullshit of Gordon 'Sting' Sumner'....he deserves a medal. Stewart was The Police founder member. Brilliant drummer. (Man, I would LOVE to spend a few hours in this place with the percussive stuff. What a room. To all the naysayers....I'd say, if you appreciate the true form of musical instruments, the history, the design and workmanship, the distinctive sounds, how in the hell could you be negative about this? I was smiling all the way through it) Meh
Say whatever but Stewart was and is one third of the Police!! The great band from my youth!! There is no Fan alive who didn't tap their foot, toe, hands to this guys' drums!
Wow I would love to hang with this guy!! It's so great to see a successful professional musician who still gets that initial kick and love for music that you get from the start.
That was ace. Stewart is a nutter, but in a good way. I reckon you'd have a hard time keeping up with the guy because he seems to go in a hundred directions at once. It'd be a laugh a minute though.
I used to think that if I could ever be someone else I would be Stewart Copeland. His family background is intriguing, where he grew up all the places he went to, where he went to school, life before the police and then after the police, being talented, being rich, read his biography. Yeah It’s good to be Stewart Copeland. And oh yeah almost forgot, he made the documentary ‘Everyone Stares’ with a super 8 camera documenting the police tour in the early 1980s. Damn cool! How many musicians can claim making their own documentary?
nice house or home studio, I would feel right at home there with all that wonderful stuff lying around. Copeland seems to be a funny guy, wonder what it would be like to work with him.
Great vid, Stewart may have brought his guitar new in 1978 but I brought "The Snare" new in 1973 with my Pearl Wood-Fiberglass kit, I still have it & use it.
Oh man,I bought a 79 wood grain blond stratacaster in 1978 or 79 but I traded it for a cheap acustic in the late 80's.That looks just like it.....Damn! I gave it away!
I love his enthusiasm. A lot of us lose that after being around music and instruments for decades but he's like a little kid still
Chaplin G He got that from ebay, lol... Stewart's always had the energy of a teen. I enjoyed the session w/ Neil Pert, Danny Carey and Les Claypool...
OMG - I love Stewart Copeland. He's cuter now. I fell for him when I was 15.
Words cannot describe the gratitude I feel towards Stewart Copeland. The soundtrack he created for the Spyro trilogy is not only timeless but also incomparable. As a child, I used to play these games and I still play them due to the memories I connect with them. Thank you, Mr. Copeland!
Dang. Nothing wonky about him. He’s sober, focused, supremely talented, and not boring. Again, wow. What a very unusual person.
I love his playful enthusiasm. If he's like this at his age, imagine what he was like in his 20s!
I'm so jealous. If I had this room I'd see no reason to ever leave it.
Stewart Copeland was born with enough energy to feed a big city needs for his whole life.
That's his music room..I can't even begin to imagine the rest of that house..
"-Man, this is a 1978 Strat! Where did you find this thing? +Well, I bought it in a store... In 1978" LMAO
lol
He seems like he LIVES for having guests over. He just can't stop showing people all his cool stuff :D
This is so fun. He's like a little kid showing off all his toys not to brag but b/c he's joyous about making music. Gotta love Stewart!
One of the finest percussionists alive today, a true master, fast, accurate and so versatile. The room is indicative of what's churning in the beatbox brain of his, a museum of his talent. If my son can play anywhere near this man, I'll die with a great fat smile on my face.
“Those are the big Amps for those hard of hearing”. That killed me.
wow Stewart!!!........................ I am glad you are here in this world!!
it is not wrong note!!,, It is all depend where we put them...
If there is one thing to appreciate about this guy, its that he is a man of music. Just look at how many instruments he plays or dabbles with.
I bet Stew only sleeps like only 15 seconds in a 24 hour period
Mike Reynolds this comment deserves more likes
Lmao!
Coffee is a heck of a drug
Hey ive seen 16 ona warm night
This guy is the best, basically the only reason I would still listen to the Police.
jsilence418 Same
until i started to record band, i did not realize what he meant to the police - wow
What a kind generous genius he is.
He's still soooo beautiful
"Alternative harmony" lol I love stewart copland and his ridiculous humor
i like this guy ever since my childhood
So he's the one who outbid me for that trombone. Rich bastard!
+ahyaok100 no kidding!
+ahyaok100 Hahaha!
Stuart Copeland is a genius, and one of life's treasures.
Total respect to a legend.
🙏😎

Love this guy, love Klark Kent, and the Rumblefish Soundtrack. He appears to be about as down-to-earth as a rock star could get.
Personifies the joy of music. Such a fantastic drummer, and he did play all instruments on a great album of exploration, "The Rhythmatist".
Stewart is the man! I always loved his sound and his approach to music.
Stewart you are amazing! I love your music ;D
he's got so much energy
What if... just what if, he has always been like this? Funny, lively, has passion for what he does, and isn't overrun with TOO much money OR fame!
I can tell you from personal experience on the So Cal studio scene that Stewart doesn't have a mean bone in his body. He's just a thorough task master who is also so much fun to be around.

Stewarts best friends are mostly bass players :)
That's got to be one of the funnest rooms in the whole world! I'd be a kid in a candy store if I could wander around in there.
Sweet! Stewart seems like such an awesome guy! Very interesting, unique studio.
Would love to spend the day with this guy!!
No matter how many times I watch this I end up saying “I love him” every few seconds all the way through😅💚
Love him or hate him, he is a musical genius. Copeland is to The Police as Peart is to Rush or Lombardo is to Slayer. Wouldn't be the same without them.
+MrStrongbox Slayer seem to be doing well with Bostaph
And the Police would do just fine with say, Vinnie Coliauta or Steve Gadd. But it just aint the same.
Coliatua and Gadd cannot write songs like Does Every One Stare & Contact
Genius.. no. Sorry. Just a drummer with a wicked left hand and a tempo issue. .. and a lot of money.
@@morbidmanmusic No need to apologize. You know what they say about opinions.

I don't think there's another musician on the planet that's as passionate as stu copeland
He's awsome I just
Love this guy.
😀
I could die happily living in that room. Just bring me some food and whiskey once in awhile.
like a kid in (his own) candy store. Just love SC.
"I have buddies that come over here and jam.....
Snoop Dog
Ben Harper
Stanley Clarke
Les Claypool/Primus"
Just some average guys, ya know.........
Richard Baxter Thomas Lang
Neil Peart...
That was very interesting. Thanks Stewart for showing us around.
Holy cow. My grandfather had a Hammond C3 that he taught himself to play on. Same thing starting up. You didn’t just turn it on. Oh the memories hearing that organ...
Atmosphere is what we are here for. Please resurrect that lovely old guitar.
1978 strat storey had me howling so funny Stewart is a wonderful I’d love to jam with him one day ! We can all dream huh 👍
4:41 "Tell me about this trumpet" "Oh this trumpet over here, this is my daddys trumpet" Pulls out a completely different trumpet out of his pocket. Gotta love Stewart. Lol 😂😂
Awe, I'd love to meet this guy and just talk and jam : )

That dude doesn't age... He looks the same for 30 years or more.
Rock ‘n’ roll keeps you young
@@gmar7836 That and he stays away from jazz lol
@@mkl_1301 😉
DAMN...STEWART was and still is FREAKIN' HOT! He is so cute! Even at 60!
I can only dream of having a fraction of his talent.
But I'd still love to have a "playground" like that!
Stewart Copeland's music sounds like nothing else. Trully unique! His stuff from the 80's sounds like a postmodern Gershwin. Hope there were more of his records arround.
I wouldn't expect anything less! Luv It! I want to hang out and play! I want to see his Stereo system...I hope it's top notch to!
Wow! His dad played with Glen Miller and the Hammond that Green onions was played on?
Gotta love Stewy, cool guy
Coffee is the best drug ever
Have you tried heroin?
I don't try nothing because I KNOW that I will get hooked. But I think I should start to smoke pot to cure insomnia and social anxiety, although the paranoia can make you even more prone to panic attacks? God damn why does it have to be so complicated....
Stick with coffee, Yogi Tea and plain water. Stay hydrated.

As long as you get high at home and not at a mall at xmas time you shouldn't get paranoid. Some people have an instrument fetish - me too.
I disagree ... TEA is! But I’m British so I would say that!! Lol
I love Copeland
What a lucky man to have that space...I would probably never leave.
That was so much fun. Can I please be the one who shows Stewart what a Les Paul cutaway looks like?
It's awesome to see two drum legends just hanging out in a natural environment. Thanks for this.
I need to show this to my wife, because she is trying to make me sell an old tuba that I don't use often. Thanks, Stewart ! 🤣🤣
Awesome to see Stewart at home. Thomas Lang getting the coffee was very apt.

Say whatever but Stewart was and is one third of the Police!! The great band from my youth!! There is no Fan alive who didn't tap their foot, toe, hands to this guys' drums!
"I can fix it in protools anyway..."

I am really fascinated at this mans talent. Also, I hope they make more Spyro games so he can make more music for them
everything thing he says is excellent

What a great guy and a superb musician- thank you for sharing!
No home, he lives in a museum 😄👍✌ Stewart is one of the biggest drummers ever!!
My most influential drummer ever! He is a genius!

+Eileen D Yep, I'm Australian :-)
adam872 Awesome! I've been there and LOVED it! First time I saw truly blue water was in Queensland :). (San Fran here) Have fun!
+Eileen D Nice one. I've been to your fair city too and loved it (and Napa and Squaw Valley too).

My favourite drummer wat a guy tho he is just loving this way a talent
If I had his money I have always wanted to have almost any kind of instrument you could think of. So I can relate .

I love this dude. My favorite drummer. All around cool ass guy....
Love this man!! Favorite drummer and producer ever!

How many neighbours does he go through a year???

Lol!
thanks for filming this and sharing this. Stewart Copeland is an amazing musician.
The awesomest of awesome goofballs. I want to drink coffee with Stewart.
Copeland is a wild man...Love him!
What is it about our heroes and their dads? Stewart Copeland, Elvis Costello, Paul McCartney, all of their dads were serious trumpet players.
LOL, "I got it, in a store..in 1978!!" :)
One of the worlds best drummers
Dang he a multi musician! Awesome

Something that sting has always lacked...
