I love this guy, went to this spot and caught a huge snapper
Mate, love your vids. So informative and devoid of BS. Incredible insights. Keep the education and entertainment going. Lovin it!
Thanks so much !! I really appreciate the positive comment. Lots of awesome stuff already in progress so stay tuned for that.
@@fishingmad Cheers mate thankyou !
Cool drone images Alan.
Thanks 👍 Yeah I'm starting to experiment a lot more now with drone stuff and some cool shots and music to add something new.
this is the best in the series
Thanks !!
Another great video Alan great fish around princess pier 🎣🎣🎣👍
Thanks so much 👍 Much appreciated.
Awesome video love the videos keep the videos coming. Been fishing for 8 months started in December last year and your videos have taught me heaps not only about fishing techniques but much more so thanks. Caught my first pinky last week measuring at 37 cm really proud of myself so yeah :).
That is awesome! I'm so glad the channel has been helping. Hopefully that was the first of many more pinkies to come. What did you catch it on ?
@@fishingmad I use chicken as bait using a small circle hook and small sinker 2-4 kg rod 8 pound braid 10 pound leader.
Awesome, Well done !!
THE GOAT IS BACK
Thanks !! That's awesome....
once again mate fantastic !!!!
Thank you!!!!! Cheers!
Another great video, you have taught me a lot, and I must congratulate you on not being one of those on UA-cam trying to sell expensive sponsors gear.
Thanks so much !! I have tried very hard over the years to make the show about the fishing and the techniques and not so much about the brands and products.
get your self a shimano raider 4ft rod the work a dream if your in a tight spot like under a warf or around poles and it’s a lot of fun
Yeah that actually sounds like a great idea !! I like it
THANK YOU
Awesome video Alan what time and what time tide did you go
surprisingly it was on low tide, and mid tide. I usually prefer the high tide change there
Hey mate great videos really enjoy watching them! Keep up the good work. What pound braid and fluro leader are you using on the bait rod setup?
Pretty sure in this vid I was using a Savage Salt rod paired with a Sustain compact 5000 which had 20lb braid and 15 lb leader. cheers
Thanks for a great vid again ,loven the bait fishing , still cant get them plastics to work for me, ha ha ah will keep trying :)
Thanks so much. Don't give up on the plastics, your confidence grows quickly with them once you start catching a few.
great video alan, i have real trouble keeping pilchids on the hook ?? great to see bait fishing
Pool noodle might help up against the poles.
Now that's actually a really good idea
Thanks for the very informative video. Can I ask what exactly you used for burley?
No problems at all, the berley I used was Fish on Bait and Burley Red Bullets. They work great for snapper, pinkies, whiting etc,
Great video
Just wondering what is the best weather for fishing at this place because been a few times and has been to rough for the kayak
Just need a notherly breeze and you'll be fine. I usually go anything under 10-15k notherly. Just suss out meteye before you go
Went to princes pier yesterday got nothing then went on the marby river for some bream still go nothing must of been the tied or something
Water temperature has dropped 2 degrees since this was recorded, and many systems hovering around 10-11 degrees at the moment. So the bite has been a bit quiet the last week or so
thanks mate i live in Melbourne and ill have a go at this .. what's the best weather app for conditions on port Phillip bay ?
I use a combination of Meteye which is awesome for swell and wind direction, also willys and windy
hey mate just was wondering what a few good spots for snapper fishing on a kayak or tinny around melbourne and morningtion pernisula would be
Were a few months away from good snapper fishing but you'll want to hit spots like Ricketts Point and the likes. We have a FishingMad Members Website which covers hot spots, gps marks and reports of whats fishing well at the time which might be helpful for you.
Hey man do you know many good spots along patto been really struggling down there at the moment
Patto has been fishing well for gars, salmon, pinkies and down further bream. Ive also caught a few EPs near the bridge. I havebt fished there for a little while so might be due for a trip down soon
Amazing location to fish. I'm from SA and don't many spots over there. So do you think the mussel vibes would work well there too? P.S. can you send some of those Pinkies over here to SA so we can lift the ban!
1000% the mussel vibes would work great there. I'm planning to take my Hobie Lynx there soon and fish it with the mussel vibes to see what we can catch with them. Yeah its so sad about the SA snapper ban, is there much longer left before they lift the ban ?
@@fishingmad earliest is 2024... Down the South East it is ok, 1 per day. Anywhere else not so. Really surprises me with the population in Vic, NSW etc and yet our tiny population can't sustainably fish...
Wow, and yeah I agree with the population and sustainability comment. Hopefully all the other states can learn from what SA has gone through and ensure they never have to do the same. The volume of pinkies here is madness which is a good sign for years to come, but our population is rapidly growing and so is fishing as a recreational passtime so they need to continually monitor it. I do work with some great people at fisheries here and i know its closely watched.
@@fishingmad I would have mirrored the above comment for my area around Portland but we have had a pro fisherman from Melbourne move in and he has been netting the hell out of the north shore. Last time that was done it killed the fishing for years. So sad.
Yeah I too hate seeing mass netting, it just destroys the ecosystems and fish and takes so many years to recover.
Way better to prepare pilchard ie salt eating ones far better 100mm 2kg block 0ne cup salad rock salt thaw block place in container toss like a salad. Leave for 3 days in fridge . Hook placement start from tail stick go 12mm apart snip head off just behind gills reverse hook12mmfrom head light tug to tighten half hitch around tail to lock head is now berly loose weight pilchard is now a counter weight sinks very fast .
Awesome, Thanks for sharing.
Alan, what brand is your neck gator?
Its one of the Daiwa UV shields. There awesome, shaped to the contour of your face and neck, has breathable holes and very comfy. One of the few that doesn't fog up your glasses.
@@fishingmad Thanks mate, I think I'll be getting myself one of those. Thanks for your reply.
No probs, there brilliant. Ive been using them for years. I think they cost about $35
hey mate what gopro do you use
GoPro 10 Blacks
nice i have a hero 11@@fishingmad
Hi
Where is this 😯
Said it in the vid multiple times, princess pier. Cheers
I see free bait on every pole
Yes, very true
🙋♂️
Your videos are wonderful but a little out of touch for poor people i only buy new lures once or twice a year and only 3 packets each time and maybe 2 packets of those weighted hooks i can't afford a kayak or a sounder unless I win lotto. Thankyou for the land fishing tips i fish inland so something on not getting snagged in rivers would special.
Can of worms is a better bait
Clever, I like it...
First
Awesome video Alan what time and what time tide did you go
